  1. Hi mate, aye i guess the figures are alright...And yep Joe's is the standard one, just lowered on the original bbs. :) We are starting to organise a day at awesome on Volksdevil here and here. :) Good ol' ebay mate :) there's a guy finally started selling them on there. 8) Cheers mate, it fuels spot on at mot :(
  2. New zimmerman cross drilled front discs and mintex xtreme pads which look really good. New caliper carrier bolts too. So all new front/rear now. All the brakes front/rear sorted now then. Also scrubbed the carpet ready for when the seats/trim is all minted up. Carpet is minty now...no more dog hairs. Covered it in meguiars odour eater and closed the doors after vacuuming.
  3. The only way to set the dizzy up is dynamically with a timing light, especially as the intermediate shaft has that nasty tendancy to spin when you fit the cambelt. Figures are 2-2.5k and 5-7 deg BTDC or there should be a mark on the flywheel at 6 deg BTDC, the TDC one has a 0 above it that is barely visible. Oh aye...i realise this Yan, 8) I know the notch is only used during static timing for a rough set up.But once set with a timing light the rotor would normally sit slightly before the notch as far as i know? Mine does and my ign timing is bang on 6deg btdc @ 2250rpm. :) Neil.
  4. Cheers guys... :) Apparently the hottuning ones are for lhd cars only too? :? As for the lambda bung on the gwerks one, ive gone off the below pic...Unlessthe actual lambda bung is that slight bump near the bottom? Would be collecting from runners 1 and 4 then? Clicky here for picture !
  5. Mmmmmm :? Just had an email off hottuning who say their manifold won't fit if you have power steering :? Erm...all corrado's have power steering! :? Any other options guys?
  6. G60 guys...What exhaust manifolds are you running and what do you think? Im trying to build my own custom system on the cheap with different bits...and just wondered about the manifold. Im not keen on the g-werks one because of the position of the lambda bung (in 1 runner rather than in collector),not knowing what make they actually are, mainly the price too as ive seen cheaper. Not always better i can appreciate that. And the cheaper one ive had my eye on is the hottuning STAINLESS  4 branch (4-2-1) at only £158 quid + delivery! Any info on the above, or other options appreciated. I think im decided on magnex back box and pipewerx center section, and having them fit it all too. Neil.
  7. Last time i set my timing i used the above method that Yanards mentions...Aligning the single dot on the rear of cam sprocket inline with the top of the rocker gasket...Or the two front dots inline with the wedge of the rocker cover, i can't say it ran very differently on the road (seems strange to me) but i recently rolling roaded it at 203 brake horse if that means anything? Graph here People seemed to think the curve was really good, so maybe the above setting method is correct. :) And kick up't tharse, it sounds like your ignition timing is too retarded? Rotor should point a little before the notch in the dizzy body. Neil.
  8. Still waiting on new front discs/pads from ebay... Got some new genuine plugs, wd40'd the ecu/tci connections, cleaned all the earth leads up...And the misfire has totally dissapeared, quite a zippy throttle response now! Also bought a fuse box cover as it was missing... And the interior needs a good minting up so i whipped it out. As you can see, i need two door speaker covers as one is missing and one is painted silver! Neil.
  9. Finally found a reasonably priced rear abs sensor for the rear left! Nice new one: Old one broke upon trying to remove (common) so the sensor/magnet bit was stuck tight in the hub, a little tip is to place a 13/14mm socket over it and knock it out...just means removing the caliper/carrier/disc. And if you don't at least have some emory paper or ideally a small finger file you will never get the new sensor in...You have to clean the hole back to absolute bare metal, and then apply a small amount of copper grease. And removed...No abs light blinding me anymore :D Neil.
  10. It works through the temp sender sat above the fuel rail on the left, it also works in conjunction with the fuel pump through the big fan relay in the engine bay...If the fan is running through the relay and fuel pressure drops below ? then the pump comes on too. But in the big relay there is a 10 minute maximum timer that should not let it run longer than this...even if its an earth problem (wire on temp sender above fuel rail earthing somwehere) then it should stop after 10 minutes as far as i know... Neil.
  11. Thats spot on cheers mate  And another mate of mine does have a bentley, so ill have a lookie in there and see if Omar can borrow the lead from a chappie off Volksdevil 8) Thamks mate. Neil.
  12. FFS. The ecu will fire for a couple of revolutions and then cut the engine if it's the vw immobiliser, if it's even fitted, I already said that. if the crank sensor is shot, it won't detect that the engine is turning, so won't try to get a spark. Just get VAG Com on, it'll save all this faffing around. You didn't say that at all,or at least not in a manner which i understood.Look at the question mark on the end, its there for a reason mate. Im asking questions and looking for easily understandable replies as i know little about the vr6's...Im not looking for ar$ey bast/\rd replies... Anyway, You are saying there will be a spark for a couple revolutions and then nothing? I said there's no spark at all so what does this tell me? Possible crank sensor? even though there's no fuel either? And.FFS. :camp: I already said that he's struggling to find the diag ports...or we would be looking for vag com wouldn't we. Neil.
  13. Cheers chaps ill point Omar to this thread. Toad, the thing is...There is no voltage at the coil at all, so probably not looking like crank sensor? Neil. :)
  14. Cheers mate, Its not firing at all, no spark or fuel which seems a coincidence :cuckoo: He has tried locating the diag port but struggling to find it with being a converted car...Any info on how the immobiliser works would be appreciated. Is it in the key/ecu etc? Neil.
  15. Ahhh, but my mates are currently stuck in the engine bay looking for a spark! Cheers guys, how can i tell if its early/late? Cheers,Neil.
  16. As title really... A mate of mine with a vr6 converted mk2 has no fuel/spark and it has been running for months with no problems previously. There is no voltage at the coil pack with ignition on or when cranking. It does have an aftermarket immobilser which seems to be deactivating fine (light goes off,car turns over, everything else works) So is there an immobiliser in the ecu/key/ignition system somewhere? Cheers,Neil. :)
  17. Just got back from nearly completing the heavy cut cleaner, crap pics! The scratch  in the original paint on the spoiler says "show car"
  18. Aye...well, i think they are reffered to as covers, they hug around the inside of the discs. :) Not back plates as in the larger ones that shield most of the disc...Tbh im not sure if it should have those or not, but didn't see any on etka. Neil.
  19. New rear back plates, wheel bearings fitted, slider pins cleaned/regreased...And the brakes are looking a little safer now too! :D
  20. No worries Manny 8) Aye, may look into the wideband jobbie...just need to understand them a bit more first as i like to learn before buying sommet blind so to speak. The corrado is now up on Awesome gti's site too :D Piccy here Rolling road graph Video? Also check here for Joe's g60 corrado, and Manny's mk2 g60... Neil.
  21. Sure mate, ordered them today 8) £2.80 each iirc so well worth getting from vw! I never realised the bbs rc's were still such an expensive wheel  so im probably not gonna bother i don't think, mayve some mint sebrings or sommet... Ive had a go at the bonnet using all the products earlier too... Heavy cut cleaner - cleaner/polish twice - pure polish - glaze...then smartwax. Its looking alright :) Thought id try sommet silly too, cheapest sign writing ever  Couldn't get a good piccy of it with the light, can just see it here...
  22. Cool, cheers guys. 8) I reckon a bit of emory paper in a nice even fashion will have them on there
  23. I believe they are: 4x100 et 37 to 48 56.1 center bore... So for a corrado g60 the center bore would just require a little machining? 1mm! Neil.
  24. Not sure what to do wheel wise... Do i keep those 17's and get the 1 damaged tyre replaced, or look for something more original looking...Thats what id like to do really. But ive half got my heart set on 17" bbs rc's? Neil.
  25. Its coming up 'ok' considering mate... :) To be honest, it really is on the verge of needing a respray. Ill go over it with the heavy cut cleaner, maybe twice. And then the cleaner/polish, and then the pure polish a couple of times, then glaze, then wax. Will see how it comes up but im not really after an absolute mirror finish as its not what the car is about...I can't be arsed with worrying about every little mark etc like i do with the G60. It feels good to have sommet that i can put stuff on the roof of etc and not be bothered about it  :) Neil.
