Just for comparison to show how mad that is... Here is the 'correct' (as in pretending not to be into vw's  size tyre on a 9x14. 255/35

Thats the problem tbh Andy, love the house :( but its just too big for me now... My fantastic  asbestos garage out the back, better stop remaniscing now... :( ps:all back garden is patio'd now, with new turf down either side...and new fencing all round.
-
Good call Andy  While on a 'housing' tip... :? The bathroom is nearly finished (have got the laminate flooring down now) Toilet used to be where the shower is now,and used to be seperate, was a wall where the red line is :D
-
cheers guys... :D Toad,i thought about that but it does want doing at some stage anyway...i do still risk it in the garage at night...for now, thats one of the next jobs, friggin asbestos sh|te  Oh i know m8 :D the guy was just advising on it. The council want £650 quid to drop it at full width of the drive...Got a few things to be on with yet though...the front of the house looks feckin embarassing  Its mint inside honestly!
-
Aye,tis an expensive job, thats just cost me 3k pretty good size though and it was an uneven field before 8) Remortgaged the house to sell it,really wanna stay tbh :(
-
Pics on my new drive, and my beautiful little girl lurking at the door :D Havn't had the kurb dropped, the guy said i wont get the car on/off :? Feckin garage is falling down :(
-
You selling em Andy? The ones im after are mint! with flat caps, and coloured centers :( Is he currently on 9x16's Bally? Thing is i have a little girl to think about too, anyone know how much clearance there is at the back at et15 on 9x16's? I do want the 'correct' size tyres but want it low too,so may have the rims machined at the back face to get more clearance...if there is room. Neil.

that annoying little screw to mount discs on front
Riley replied to VeeDub Geezer's topic in Drivetrain
Its not too important but id probably try and sort it too, like things right :D Is there enough thread stuck out to get a hacksaw across it? to turn it into a flat head screw? Or file a flat on two sides and get some good vice grips on it? Neil. -
Yeah,i do agree guys...just sounds absolutley crazy to me but just interested in pics to see how crazy it is  Considering i had 255/35/14's on my old 9x14's...its a hell of a difference :? Hmmmm, thinking im gonna have to say no to these rims :( they are gorgeous too but i cant afford pissing about with tyres... Neil.
-
Cheers guys... :) Thing is,if i do go for 215/35 i want it to stay low without a major tyre/arch issue... Only thing i can think of is machining the wheel mating face even if its only a few mm i can get away with. So if im running konigsports, where is the least clearance gonna be? Suspension or rear beam? Cheers,Neil. :) mmmm,195/45's on an 8j rim at et27...and we are talking 215/35's on a 9j at et15 :?
-
Could someone kindly check out the clearance at the back of the rims? 9x16 et15? Neil. :D
-
Yeah, good size Bill 8) mmmmm, just wondering if its worth bothering buying em and messing about flogging the tyres/buying new....
-
Cheers Andy 8) Aye,205/40 rings a bell to me... :? nah, just seen an old thread
-
Ahh thats how you know its low enough eh 8) Possibly found some 9x16 borbet a's...just concerned about tyre sizes, they have 195/45's fitted  was wanting the correctish...size really so was thinking about machining the rear of the wheels to get a little more clearance.Cant really afford arch work yet... Looking for pics of 195/45's fitted to 9's here :D Neil. :)
-
How many mm do you have clearance wise at the back of the rims? from the wheel to the closest thing? rear beam or shocks? Cheers,Neil. :)
-
Anyone got pics of 195/45's on a 9x16? :) Seen some rims with this size tyre on (not best pics for looking at tyres) and im really unsure about going for em... ive got 195/45's on my 8x16's and they are enough of a stretch for me  Neil. :)

The halfords ones are poor tbh (i didn't say that though  ) Well you would say that - you have a business to run ;) They seemed pretty good to me. Whats so poor about em? Yeah, pretty much guys :) Im not the kinda guy to say something for the hell of it,id like to think im more honest than that! :( I run my business on truth and honest opinions/advice,not spitting out any bullshit just to sell things :( ...im an enthusiast myself remember :D Ive been into halfords and as soon as i touched the microfibres,i just knew that my months of finding someone to manufacture my microfibres had paid off...especially when tested through 30 wash cycles against certain other microfibres :) Neil.
-
Aye 8) May just be £10 quids worth of voltage regulator on the alternator...available from gsf or vw (bit more cash). ps:to add to the above post, you want around 13.8v from the red lead on the alternator...much less and its a sign of a dead voltage regulator. Neil.
-
Its...ok i spose m8...

The halfords ones are poor tbh (i didn't say that though  ) Have you guys been asleep for the past month? i had an offer on the site...spend £10 quid or more and you got a free quality microfibre... Neil.
