Thanks Sciroccotune, The calipers fit under my 16 inch MO's using the same Seat adaptors that the Brembo conversion kit uses. Other than that, not much needed to be done really. Had Darren at G-Werks fit them for me, and as always he did a fantastic job...

Thought it was about time I put up a few piccies of my G60. Shame I don't have any of what it was like before most of the work was done, but c'est la vie.. Must get some of the interior too after it has been attacked with the hoover 8)

Thanks Tricky - parts arrived quickly and in good condition.

Oh, you will have fun with this one... I've done the early to late style conversion on my G60. On the wiring connector I got (which was from a scrappy and was probably from a mk3 Golf) the colours were not as indicated in the knowledge base article. However, the pin numbers did correspond. Also the first switch I tried didn't work. I ended up getting another switch, which again didn't work. Upshot of this was I took both switches apart and cleaned them up (the copper contacts were filthy). Both the switches then worked. Not the end of the story unfortunately. As mentioned in the knowledge base one of the possible side effects is that the controls on the mirrors now work back to front (up is down and left is right). I have not got to the bottom of this yet, but I assume that reversing the feed to the motors in the wing mirrors will rectify this. When I can be bothered to do it I will. I wish you the best of luck with it.... P.S. While you have the switch apart cleaning it, it's a good time to change the LED's if you want the illumination colour to match your interior.

Hate to add another request to this already full thread, but.... I've got late style heated seats fitted in my G60. The wiring loom is all laid and the seats connected, but before I plug them in I want to check - there are 2 small plugs for the power, do these just plug into the fusebox (is it really as simple as that)???

Cheers Neil, not managed to find covers which fit on the box yet (the only circular ones I've found are too big to sit side by side and not fall over the edge of the box). Best thing I've found is to put an old t-shirt over them when parked anywhere dodgy. Not particulary elegant but does the business. I love seeing the cones move when they're playing nice and loud - although it is very distracting while driving . Let me guess - Alpine head unit, Genesis amp and Diamond component speakers???

I like that!!!! Thanks Brian. Now covered the handbrake section in the same material as my speaker box, and smoothed off where the rear ashtray was (alcantara in need of a little smoothing on examination of the piccies  ). The plan is to cover the gear stick surround in the same material too so that it's consistant throughout the car. When I get round to it the front seats will be black leather/grey alcantara to match it as well...

Fitted a pair of 5 inch Focal subwoofers into a sealed MDF box in the space between the rear seats. Kicks more than well enough to give a decent bass line while driving, and leaves the boot free. Bonus....
-
Just getting the 2 front seats done. The rear seats are virtually unused, and VW have done a good job on the doorcards, anyway. Trying to keep a black/grey theme running through the car. I was quoted a figure of around £450 for the front seats. Hope that helps...

Supercharged - The system had been open to the air for atleast the last 7 years after having a couple of hoses go through, and I was quoted +£800 to have the thing repaired. Also to get the front mounted intercooler meant that the aircon radiator had to go as there just isn't the space. I ended up thinking that for the amount of time in the year I need aircon (about 8 days so far this year) I could just wind the window down. Cheers Dinkus, will have a look through the other links of this one and hopefully find someway of extracting it (that doesn't involve too much pain).
-
Cheers guys.... I had a feeling they might be the ABS, but as there is a lot of stuff from the aircon under there as well, I thought I better check. Anybody any ideas about how best to remove an air con system, to get everything back to normal (what bits in/behind the dash would need extracting/replacing and has anyone done this)??
-
Just had a new arrival in my passenger foot well (see the attached piccie of the relays) :? . Can anyone please shed any light on what these are from (my thoughts were air con or ABS)?? It does have air con (and ABS) however the air con hasn't worked in a good few years and I'm in the process of removing it. The buttons don't look like the ones I've seen for the Diavia setup though (again there is a rather fuzzy picture attached). Anybody know if this would be a Diavia setup or not?? One final question too - what bits would I need to replace as I'm wanting to remove all trace of the air con system (the hardware under the bonnet - compressor, pipework and condensor have already been removed)??

Having recently installed a late style interior to my G60 I can definately concur - it wasn't just plug and play. GradeAFailure was a great help in going my electric window switches (and yes they did work first time :) ). You also need to source some late style interior door handles as the early ones are the wrong shape for the cut out in the late door cards. These are a direct replacement and are easy to swap. And then there is the electric mirror control that needs changing (waiting for the right socket so I can do mine at the moment). Then that should be it - good luck!!
-
Mine didn't come with anything to fix them either :( however the fixing problem was soon solved with a wee drop of Araldite. They're not going anywhere now

Thanks guys, that's very helpful and put my mind to rest (and hopefully Daves at DB as well)... Black leather and grey alcantara here I come

Picking up a set of heated leather seats at the weekend (from a 94 VR6 I believe), and was wanting to get them re-trimmed. Just spoken with Dave at DB Cartrim and he mentioned that some seats have the heating element in the fabric trim itself, but he didn't know if the Corrado's were like this. Does anyone know if this is the case, or is the heating element in the foam and not the trim?? Thanks, guys....

Definately try Alpine for the head unit Darren - even their basic units are top quality. Agree with kevhaywire on the amp - Genesis are very, very good for the money.

Many thanks to Gavin (h100vw) for the headlight loom - finally I can see in the dark!!

My local garage managed to pull my handbrake off the base during the last MOT test. They fixed it with a welded in washer and nut but the damn thing is now off centre. Needless to say, they're not my local garage anymore (cowboys)...

Hi guys, Apologies for the complete lack of response - been out of the country for a few weeks and not had much chance to play with my new toy. Response wise - it's got a lot more pull in 1st and 2nd even without planting the right foot competely. Definately noticable over the standard intercooler. On the drive home I pushed it to see how much difference there was - I can feel the horns growing and the forked tail appear, it's a beast (at least compared to the pussy cat it was before) It's a real stealthy install - not one for anybody whos after complete bling behind the grill, although I'm sure Darren would do them in chrome if required. I am concerned though that all that extra waxoil I put in the battery tray is causing her to be a little nose heavy
-
This is for any of you toying with the idea of unleashing your g60's by converting to a large intercooler. Had mine done by Darren at G-Werks at the weekend and it gets a big, big thumbs up!! Nice one Darren you've created a monster.

Audioscape door pods - which electric window switches??
JMC replied to JMC's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Thanks for the response, however I do want to move the switches down to the pods. I'm going to mount the crossovers from my Diamond M3's in the door cards, and the only place where there's a bit of room is where the switches are currently mounted. Looks like a trip to a scrappy is in order. Jonathan -
Just bought a set of Audioscape door pods, but my old electric window switches don't fit them. Does anyone know part numbers for the drivers and passenger side switches that I need to get?? Thanks, Jonathan
