Welcome to the forum. Looks as though you've got a nice selection of toys waiting to go on your G60. Good luck with all...

Another thumbs up for the Phirm - they fitted my new gauges recently. Spent a very enjoyable day there, drooling over the cars they had in there (including their rather special turbo'd and nitroused Rallye). Cheers for the recommendation Gradea

Cheers mrbeige, always nice to get some good feedback :D :D
-
Gauges - Oil pressure and AFR - are now fitted :D :D Nice blurry night shot... Also fitted a t-piece in the vac/boost line so the boost gauge and MFA mpg both work properly again.

I like the look of that alot. Think I've just found my next project for the evenings :D
-
Good man.... Might have to have a think about this one - it would complement the red lit interior quite nicely though.
-
Ooooh, maybe it's that one, but I could have sworn it was Phaeton. Knew that if I asked about it someone would put me straight - cheers Dave. Did you have a good evening at the Phirm yesteday?? Impressive selection of cars they have there..

Have heard from a couple of places now about the interior light conversion which I though was from a Phaeton but Gradea's corrected me that it's a Passat W8 light, but can't find any pictures anywhere. Can anyone shed any light on what this is, and what's involved in doing it??

Thanks ben16v, yes it is finished (see attached for a rather shaky picture). There was a small amount of cutting needed at the bottom of the slot where the ash tray used to live. With hindsight I would probably have removed a little bit of plastic from the top of the slot rather than the bottom to improve access to CD's below. Maybe next time :D :D

I've also done the early style heater controls, by printing out a new design on acetate and fitting that in instead of the green one. At the same time I fitted a couple of extra bulbs as well making it all a bit brighter. Also done all the interior switches (thanks for your help GradeA) and fitted the DDI dials...

Put me down for a set of anti roll bars, ifyou haven't already thanks Darren.

Cheers guys. I ended up buying a replcement G60 sensor as I thought it would be best to run two (side by side) so as to not interfere with the ECU. When it came to installing the AFR, it turned out that the wires to the lambda had corroded through and had been like that for a long time.... Typically, the car is running really lean according to a wideband sensor anyway, so I'm needing a remap before the AFR will make any sense. At least the Oil pressure gauge I had installed at the same times worked fine (yay).

I'm wanting to get a Defi AFR installed on my G60 and it needs a 0-1V lambda probe. Has anyone installed a second lambda for their AFR's and if so what's a good one to go for??? I presume from the 'S' type graph that it needs to be a 0-1V narrow band sensor, and I understand it is better to go for a heated sensor, but other than that any help would be most appreciated....

Stoney, mine pulls about 11psi on full boost (measured on an Autometer boost gauge) and measured about 1830 on the MFA. My setup is quite similar to yours, but I do have the big Golf G60 intercooler (courtesy of Darren). So I hope it's a good reading...

Cheers Supercharged, thought for now I would try it off the MFA pipe to save me grovelling round trying to get it through into the engine bay. Also the pipe that came with the gauge is a plastic one, and I've got visions of it coming into contact with something hot in the engine bay and giving me a nice boost leak. Nice to know it's not going to cause any big probs though...
-
Just plumbed in my boost gauge, however the t-piece that came with it is the wrong size to splice into the pipe to the MFA. So I've just un plugged the pipe from the MFA and joined it straight to the boost gauge. Are there any problems with doing this (other than the fact that the MPG calculation no longer works)???
-
Woo hoo, got the boost gauge plumbed in and working. Looks to be pulling just over 11psi so reasonably happy. Used the line coming into the back of the MFA and it was surprisingly easy to do. Next job then - clean the rocker cover...
-
Gorgeous looking car Dave. I'm sure the new wheels will be just as popular
-
Thanks Darren - I'd pretty much ruled out going through the fire wall, so the back of the MFA it is then. This only be the 15th ish time the clocks have been out :D so have had a bit of practice. Any news on the re-map yet?? If I can do this Dave, then anyone can!!! Next job will be polish up a new rocker cover. Ah, the endless joy of Corrado ownership.

Been working on a set of tweeter builds and on the drivers side a build to incorporate my Autometer boost gauge as well. Really easy to do folks if you fancy a go yourself. Used MDF as the base, then built it up with P40 filler to get the overall shape. Finally P38 filler whichis easily sanded to get the final smooth shape. Then lots and lots and lots of sanding with finer and finer grade paper. Next a few coats of primer and finally (after yet more sanding and primering) a few coats of black paint. Just took a few evenings to do. All I have to do is connect the gauge now...

One thing you may find though (as I did). When you've wired everything up, your mirrors work back to front (up is down and an left is right). Managed to solved that by changing round the connections to the motors in the mirrors themselves. Good luck with it...
-
Thanks guys. So it looks like the carbon can pipe if I can be bothered to fit it through the bulkhead, or off the MFA pipe if not then, as both ways seem popular...
-
It's time for me to finally fit my my shiny new Autometer boost gauge. I've done a quick search on the best place to plumb this in, and opinions seems to be divided between the pipe at the back of the MFA and off the back of the manifold. Something to note as well - it has come with a plastic pipe, for which I seem to recall from one of the threads that this means it should not be installed off the manifold... Any ideas folks on the definitive best way to do this???

Finally got my electric mirrors to work properly (ever since putting in the late interior, pressing up sent them down, and left sent them right). Solved it by taking the mirror off and swapping round the feeds to the motor.... That one has been bugging me for ages. Also started on a set of tweeter builds, and fixed a scuffed alloy as well - good productive day...
