Thanks. I'll bare it on mind when I get to take mine off. Hopefully soon when I've re-sorted my suspension out to get to the engine. I do always take photos of a before and after to ensure things go back as they were. Although that's not much use if refitting back into a wrong position I suppose. finally got the rivets from VW. Unfortunately they are no longer black so i may have to paint them, unless i can take one somewhere to find a better replacement. Vw part no. N90576301 Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

You're going to have to test from the bulb point onwards with a continuity tester. Check positive to negative to ensure there is nothing short circuited. Is the wiring free with no crazy fixing screw into anything. Probably telling you what you've already checked! !! Can you get a wiring diagram for this circuit and is everything else working.
