  1. Hi All Many (many!) moons ago I did a Corrado with an aston inspired interior, making my own vantage style dashboard and a strict 2 seater with the rear seats replaced with a cubby and shelf arangement ( wish I still had some photos) Anyway, I am embarking on a new project this time using the a V8 vantage as a starting point and I have no need for the interior (the whole thing is being stripped to the chassis and a new design of body and interior fitted to it) so I have the complete interior from a perfectly good 2007 spec V8 vanatge (with the better seats ;-) ) included is the seats dashboard center console all carpets rear environment door cards pillar trims head lining all boot trim parcel tray The only thing to note is that DOES NOT include anything electrical, all harnesses, clocks and switches are retained by me as these are needed for the function of the car. I know this wont fit easily, and some may not fit at all (headlining?!) who knows but I know you guys do cool stuff and where there's a will and all that jazz... Any questions please ask. Many thanks Doug email: [email protected] Price: £5000 for the lot (you could probably do well selling the parts you don't use. I'm keen to progress my project so looking to clear this in one go)
  2. Well here it is, it must go to someone who will either see it through and finish it or split it all for part and without doubt make a few $$$ Everything really needs a good clean and there will be areas on the body work which will need some attention and some new paint as a minimum. The wheels all need a refurb, stip and repaint - not just a polish!. The tyres are brand new, driven only a hand full of miles It has full FK silverline adjustable coilovers Oh and the R32 engine ;-) Custom stainless downpipe with audi stainless exhaust manifolds Oh the full custom interior! well documented in the build thread but there bits to finish. The seats will need the trimming finihed (all leather supplied and the old covers to use as templates). Theres a few bits which I had intended to trim in Carbon fibre (supplied) for the centerstack and center arm rest. EVERYTHING is included, what you see is what you get, it was far easier to photograph everything than list it all but I will try and add comments to each photo I WILL NOT break for individual parts I'm afraid as I need the lot gone in one go please. £1000, and collection sooner the better but you will need a trailer. The history of the build can be seen here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=45755 If you have any questions please ask. ....be great to see it finihed....... http://s289.photobucket.com/user/dou...0Garage%20sale
  3. 4. Hasan, tell me about it! I would dearly love for someone to pick this up as is and see it through... will send a PM
  5. Well, there we go... its been 18 months since my last post and in that time the car hasn't moved from the garage. Its with great regret that I have to move this on as I currently cant commit any time to it. So I will be breaking it for parts. :-( So, I've not got to listing the parts its yet so if anyone whant first dibs on anything in particular drop me a PM. Or if anyone wants to take the project on as is... this could be some I would consider. Cheers Doug
  6. Thanks Sam (and Jim!) a deposit would be fair, would you be up for meeting in northampton? I have the same enquiry posted on a couple of forums so I may be lucky with someone a little more local but i not it would be good to try and work something out.... Cheers Doug
  7. Hi, I would like to borrow the following from a Mk4 golf 4Motion/R32: Gearbox and transfer box rear diff propshaft lower wishbones hubs and drive shafts. I would like to 3D scan these to be used as 'Engineering' examples for my 3D scanning website. I can cover any travelling cost if you can drop off or I'm happy to collect within a reasonable distance of Banbury, I also dont mind adding a few £ to sweeten the deal. These are only required to be on loan and the scanning process is entirely non contact so will just be a case of dropping off and collecting a week later. I understand this is an unusual request but if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. If you'd like to see what I mean by 3D scanning please take a look here: http://www.capture-point.co.uk (this is my current website which I'm in the process of updating - thus requiring more examples to show) If you have any questions please email me on [email protected] (or if you wish to give me a ring please PM me for my number) Once the scans are complete I will be happy to upload the files (stl format) to the forum for all to use and will no doubt be invaluable to anyone engineering/desigin conversions or accessories etc. Many thanks, Doug
  8. Just want these out of the way so if you want them they are yours but you must be able to collect ideally this weekend but no longer than next weekend please, or they go in the bin! one tyre is FUBAR'd but the other 3 still have good tread. Located Near Banbury, Oxfordshire. Cheers Doug.
  9. Cool, Hasan Wednesday is fine I'll pm you my number address etc G60night has the team dynamics, will on you the same as well. Just let me know when you can collect. Cheers. Replaced them with the standard 18" Audi 7(?) spokes. But to deal with all this snow we're having. (!!!??) it currently running on some 16's with winter tyres. Think I can take them off now? Lol
  10. Audi wheels. ---------- Post added at 11:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:22 AM ---------- Team dynamics wheels, uncleaned! Lol I think that last one needs a new tyre!!
  11. Clearing these out the garage. TT Wheels straight and pretty clean, some light curbing and a few chips to the faces from living in the garage. Two tyres are very good two need replacing 5-100pcd £ 75 Team dynamics wheels 18 inch where on my Audi a4 (52 plate) so I think 5x112 but please check. Pretty good condition replaceable rims sorry for the unclean pics but just need them out the garage. 3 tyres very good one utterly fubar'd ( puncture and a tyre iron that didnt fit down the hole to the bolt meant I drove it a mile flat! Didn't damage the wheel fortunetly. Worth it for the tyres £ 50 Collection from Banbury ASAP. Pics to follow
  12. Hi, Was speaking to Jay last week and he showed me what was going on here! Very impressed with the progress and engineering going on, also glad the scanned parts are being put good use. The renders are looking very good, whats the software your using for the CAD? I've just got a website up and running for my scanning work and actaully have a little animation of the hub here Theres also a gallery on there (see my signature) and I'd love add some of the screen shots you have uploaded, if you dont mind? its an excellent example of the reverse engineering process! I shall defo be keeping a close eye on this project, will be great to see a neat solution to keeping proper geometry while getting the C nice and low
  13. Well, I had a peek in the ecu today and i wasn't lucky. I will need to carefully desolder the chip from the ecu! still a good excuse to go buy a nice soldering iron ( my current one has done its fair share of plastic welding, not really any good for delicate work now!!) On the plus side I should be getting the wideband afr and data logger tomorrow morning (missed the delivery today :-( ) took a punt on getting the chips and reader/writer from ebay (China..!!) so we'll see what turns up, if anything... Going to try and get the AFR rigged up over the weekend and I'm interested to see what the engine is doing, as is. i will post the results and we can see whats going on.
  14. No, not tried anyone else atm and pretty much made my mind up to go for it myself. I think I'm getting the gist of it the more I read and the mouse has been hanging over the purchase button on a few websites already! think I'm going to go for one of these.. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/kits.php ($299) between this and vagcom I'll be able to log all the data I need. off to look for the bits req'd to read and write the chips. I think I'll also bust the ecu open tomorrow and take a look, would be nice if it has been chipped in the past and already has the socket soldered in.... if im lucky! ;-) Boost monkey, cheers for the comments. As for the scanning stuff thats exactly what you can do, but the 'ninja star' adapter was easier to just measure up with a vernier and draw it up. The rollcage is where it really comes in useful.
  15. Based in banbury & Work in Coventry. Software wise its the standard ecu so I'll look to get whatever works with that. ---------- Post added at 10:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:25 PM ---------- Thanks aide, nice tip off. Having a read now.....
  16. Quick update, Car is now sat on the ground and pretty much back together ready(all be it roughly) for a remap however... I've hit a stumbling block in that I was hoping to get the car mapped by MRC in Banbury who I've only heard good things about but after speaking to them and explaining what I have done they didn't want to touch it, saying they did think it would run! it actually drives NOW so by my logic it cant actually be 'that' far away from working, right? (maybe i should drive it round!) It sounded to me that they didnt want to touch anything that wasn't straightforward So what to do now...? I'd really like to learn what and how to remap the standard ecu but ideally I'd like someone with some experiance to show the the basics and workflow etc. Is there anyone on here that has tackled ecu tuning? I'm more than happy to spend the cash I was going to spend on the remap buying all the equipment I need, but I just need to learn how its done, the tricky bit seems to be reliably finding the correct map in the file to modify.
  17. LOL thanks, it keeps me busy! I've still got a fair bit of work to do aliging all the scans more acurately but I couldn't resist doing a quick rough model to see what it would look like... just got to find a good place to order the steel from..?
  18. (a few posts to summerise) Not a lot to report progress wise. I got the new oil housing on but turning the engine over failed. No spark and I'm not convinced the fuel pump is working enough. Got a couple of hours tomorrow on the car so will have a good poke around. Confused though as I had the 2.8 running and all I have done is change the engine, hoping I've just missed a wire off something... Err Cough Cough.... it works better with the crank sensor in! Went through the wiring in the engine bay and I had a few things conected to wrong bits but nothing that would have stopped it from firing, so I got that sorted then started to look at every thinking else. I know the ignition coild takees its cue from the crank sensor so when i went to check that... It wass't even in the block! so a dig about in the garage and I found it, in and bingo - started first time! Its a bit rough as I have litterally just connected stuff up where it lies (hence the coil pack just bolted onto the side of the head!) but startes quickly and with a little rev, it smooths out great. very pleased and I'm only an hour into today. Oh, it has p!ssed oil all over the drive though as it would appear the seals to the oil cooler are shot. I'm going to leave the engine there untill I can get new seals so in the meantime I'm back on trimming the front seats. Not a great deal dude, played with the engine a little and gottue seals inthe oil cooler sorted. Running a lot smoother now.. http://www.youtube.com/user/40tribetype#p/a/u/0/BNaD5I2WV7c I've made a start on the seats. I'm hoping to have a good crack at finishing one seat on friday but thought I'd throw up a pic of the paneling of the centers.... (cr*ppy iphone photo, but you get the idea ;) ) Ok, plans for this weekend didn't really turn out as I had planned but I have got some work done. Continued to tidy the engine bay and get all the VR6 bits on. When I did the 2.8 I added the VR6 inlet temp sensor into the inlet manifold which meant drilling and tapping into one of the inlet runners in a position similar to where it sits in the VR6. I was never really happy with this as it didn't seem robust enough to me. So this time I took some more time to sort a better solution out. I ending up with incorporating it into the throttle adapter I made (see pics). I really like this as a solution as it leaves the R32 inlet manifold completly std. I did have to shave alittle off the throttle and the inlet to get this one to fit as the hex of the sensor overlapped the edges of the adapter. Thats fine for this one but if/when I get to do this again I will make the adaptor a couple of mm thicker and this would mean no mods to either the inlet of the throttle. All you need to do is lengthen the wiring to the new position. I then set about trying to sort a good position for the coild coil pack. this was tricky as the R32 inlet is designed for coil on plug so doesn't leave a good route for the HT leads to go from head to coil pack. Also there's a whole bunch of stuff hanging of the side of the engine which isn't there on VR6's, all the variable cam stuff. I made this bracket which I think is a nice compomise, fits in the gap between the engine and the airbox and works around all the cam solenoids and sensors I also angled it so water will drain off the coil pack... All thats needed now is to adjust the length of the HT leads and make something to nicely route them. In the future I would like to look into whether its possible to make an adapter harness to go from the coil pack VR6 harness to the R32 coil on plug. I've seem this done on some BMW's but it's a little project which can wait for the time being! I also wheeled the 3D scanner out and started on scanning the rear env...
