AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IS there ANYTHING on these bl@@dy cars that go according to plan? I've just spent a good hour on a wee job that should have taken around five minutes-changing the headlamp bulb. The actual bulb changing part didn't take long actually,it was trying to get that feckin peice of bent wire that VW laughingly refer to as a "bulb retainer"back into place. Whoever designed that piece of toilet technology should have been taken outside and given a sound slap around the back of the head and told not to be so damn stoopid. Sorry for the rant but something had to be said before I ended up in hospital with a ruptured vocabulary

You sell these as a kit? How much and are they a direct bolt on or do you supply the bracket too? Sorry for all the Q's but I might be pretty interested in this as I may need to get new front calipers anyway.Thanks.

Have spoken to C&R and they are willing to gas flow the head and fit the cam if I can send the head to them, which shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Right..... 8)

Dammit! There should have been a photo attached to this......

I remember a chase I had with a mate in his 1.6 MK2 Capri. This was in pre Corrado owning days-in fact it was pre owning any kind of car days! I was in my da's mk2 Vx Cavalier Cdi and were taking some friends to a party in it and he was taking some more in his car.So we got onto on of the long straight roads here, and proceeded to have a bit of a lark, overtaking, sitting right on the bumper, stupid things like that, when he eventually got past me and vanished into the distance, cos I had gotten bored and was just wanting to get there in one piece now 8) . As we came up to a particularly nasty s-bend in the road, which kind of dips downwards and then back up a hill,we saw the Capri on its roof in the field at the side of the road. The guys got out of it with cuts and bruises and as the last bloke just got his foot out through the hatch, the thing caught fire  and proceeded to go up like a roman candle. The driver said that he lost control going into the bend,on some gravel, but more likely it was the speed he was doing-in a rear driven car. Anyway car is now well alight and all he wants to do is go back to it and get his "half-a-packet"of tabs that was left in the glove-box  Much was talked about it at the house where the party was afterwards, and also much leg-pulling and mickey taking. Even made the local paper that week, with a picture of the fire brigade putting it out.

Hehe, notoriety at last for one of you! A report on "North Tonight" this evening to do with the amount of traffic around Granite city during the school run period had a shot of a tailback at a roondyboot in,I think,North Anderson Drive-and guess who what was in centre of the picture with all lights ablaze? Yup.you guessed it-a dark blue or purple Corrado!Possibly a VR going by the wheels, but it was on the screen for a fraction of a second so couldn't get a good look. Was it you :?: Do you remember a film crew at a busy roundabout?(although technically you should have been observing the road!) And if so did you put all lights on to get noticed?

Sorry to hear that Roddy, still could have been worse. Same thing has happened here.Fortunately,as my car is parked right outside my sitting room window, I saw the little sod in the act of nicking my valve covers and went out and confronted him.He was only about ten and when confronted confessed and even gave me his address so I could phone his Parents! The joys of living in a small community!!!! 8)

phookun 'ell they're quick! Not sure which engine was in it but after 120ish the damn thing was still pulling away from me. I reckon it was the 2.5 V6 version-loads of grunty torque. Might be added on to my "next car" list  Maybe if I had a VR6....... :?
-
Hehe....didn't actually go into Aberdeen-stayed with a mate in Kingswells. Had been in touch with Roddy to join the Abz Corrado contingent, but as you lot were leaving at 5ish on friday morning, and I only got into Aberdeen at around half 11ish on the thursday night(after a long drive form Thurso-late ferry 'cos of the weather  ) any of you that were going were way ahead of me. You were probably having breakfast in Carlisle when I was just getting up! Still, made it to Ipswich by 5ish...... 8)

Have to think long and hard about making the slog down to it next year, after the ear-bending I got from she-who-must(not)be-obeyed  after this years excurtion.2hrs on a ferry and an overnight stay in Aberdeen, and then a Cannonball run style race down the M6 and across the country just for a car show! All my friends thought I was nuts  BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyones interested, theres an E30 M3 for sale here.Proper left-hooker in salmon silver, top condition too.Verrrrry nice. 8) Dubster82, did I mention that house prices here are favourable?

Hmmm...looked a lot like here-same kind of roads, treeless, and no speed limits! Oops, sorry forgot-there are speed limits, but everyone chooses to ignore them!! (By everyone I mean me and anyone behind me  )

My local VW dealer has a nice shiny black 4-door R32 sitting in his compound.£23,605 worth of brand new(and if the above qoute is anything to go by, rare) black loveliness. Not that I want one of course.MUCH!!!
-
Hmmm.... Been tempted to go and have a look at a brand new 03 WRXSti that one of the dealers, who I know fairly well, has brought here. Just can't shake off that feeling of knowing that,if I were to buy it,that it would give off that"look at me,I have a really fast car and a very small appendage"factor. Yeah, they might be very quick and also handle well, but I can't help feeling that it's just for the Max factor/playstation generation who would like to get their grubby little hands on it and stuff it into the nearest wall. If I had the money,I would prefer to go and put a deposit down on the georgeous pearl black R32 that the VW dealer has taken delivery of. It's got nearly as much go but is far more subtle about it 8) 8)

Hehehe....Just stting here with the radio on and that crap dance version of "boys of summer"has come on.....The bananas dancing in time to it!!! Sorry,it's the hangover..... I'll get me coat.....

I've got Bilsteins on the front and boge gas dampers on the back with terra lowering springs.Had them on the car for about five years now,and they were great at first, but now they're absolutely sh***ed! Don't try and use standard shocks with lowering springs as this set up won't last long because of the increased wear on the dampers. Have just ordered a new set up from C&R who recommended using VR6 springs and top mounts(mines a G60),which,although will take my car from a 40mm drop to a 30mm one, they say it will improve the handling whilst retaining a good quality ride.Haven't fitted it yet so I hope its as good as they say it is! :)

I'm beginning to think that my car is haunted. It does strange things occasionally. I was driving home this evening,on a road I know extremely well, when I went over a small hump.Nothing odd in that, except that after going over said hump, the stereo went quiet and the headlights dimmed for about one second, then everything came back to life and carried on as normal. No faults since. Any ideas?

"a bit of T-cut & maybe the tracking sorted perhaps

Right, first off,get yourself a lawyer,as what he has done is illegal and almost certainly theft.Using your credit card details without your authorisation, and from what you say you can also prove it,then you can take him to a small claims court and claim back the amount he has put on your card and also possibly the cost of the "work" he has(nt) done.Even if you went to the police I'm pretty sure that they would take a dim view of this as well. Secondly I would love to be able to point you in the direction of a good garage, but as I live roughly 100million miles from anywhere I can't,But I'm sure someone on here will know of a good garage. 8) Good luck. :)

I'm in the position of looking at getting a new head/cam set up for my G60. If I was to get this toothed belt system, what gains could I expect from fitting it along with a TSR packA head,268deg cam and TSR downpipe? Could it be fitted on a DIY basis,or are thier some specialist tools involved? Love the sound of the G40 by the way! P.S. if anyone has any ideas about other head/cam conversions,or ways of increasing torque/BHP without losing day to day driveability,I'd like to know. Cheers! 8)
