  1. The ignition coil that is on the car is a VW only part and IIRC costs around £175, as it needs to be bought with the ignition module as one piece. I replaced mine, to try and solve a problem where the engine kept dying and then wouldn't start again. What about the engine earth? Might be worth checking that.
  2. The ball joint was knackered too, and I didn't want to pull the driveshaft out! The front wishbone bolt was bloody tight too, required some foot action!
  3. I've done this in mine! Not loads of cutting to be fair, but you need to mount it quite low to clear the screws under the heater controls
  4. Yeah, take it to a garage!! Tips - use plenty of WD40! Make sure you've got a 1/4 drive socket set. Remove the brake calipers and carriers to improve access to the bolt on the bottom ball joint That's as far as I've got.
  5. Just thought I'd let you all know its just taken me 3 fookin hours to take off the offside wishbone! Bloody bottom ball joint was tight as a nuns ...... And its dark now...:( The rear bush on the wishbone is in a right sorry state. The rubber as completely come away from the metal insert!  Anyone in the Cambridge area want ot give me a hand tomorrow night, finishing it off?? Here's a pic of one of the bushes.....
  6. Suits your Corrado to be fair, just not too keen on the rear spoiler. A Reiger spoiler like flusted would look better IMO.....just my 2p worth of course.

    Wing Vents

Just so you know, I wouldn't have two! Just thought I'd ask......I'll get my coat!

    Wing Vents

I like them, but the question is do you put one the other side too, to make it symetrical?
  10. I've never heard one under load like that, in fact I've never been in a Corrado VR6....just listened to your chris and now I definately want one....not that I'll be able to satisfy my desire until the end of next year when I can afford it...:(
  11. I had a problem with my 2.0l 16v loosing power above 5500rpm, cos that pesky little lead wasn't sending it s little signal to the ECU. I would say you need to make sure that is in place to get it running ok. Stealth did the old VAG-com thing and mine gave a fualt code cos that little blighter wasn't plugged in!
  12. Very bling....I quite like it
  13. Mmmmm that is rather sleek isn't it! Good skills Darren
  14. Really looking forward to seeing this car, very very impressive 8)
  15. Can't really see a down side to a 20vt...... (just do the conversion on a lowly 16v/8v not a VR6 or G60)
  16. V. cheap, but again I agree, you need to see their work first.
  17. Interesting......when it goes wrong! No seriously, I can see the idea is good, but don't see the point of it really. If you want good fuel consumption, buy a TDI!
  18. lol Is it me or did he have understeer there? Rear wheel drive? Luckily noone was coming the other way when he was going round those corners on the wrong side of the road!!
  19. Now I'm worried! My mate mentioned the captive nut thing too! I don't really want to be stuck in Cambridge over the weekend, I don't think the missus would be too happy!
