Well, To be fair I'm pretty pleased! My problems with the engine losing power was all to do with the lead that goes form HT lead for cylinder 1 to the ECU. Apparenytly it is something associated with the knock sensor and the ECU's way of figuring out which cylinder it is knocking on. Put that lead back on (took off after changing HT leads) and hey presto no loss of power, no stalling and no idling high! Hats off to the bloke! Furthermore he took it for a test drive and came back saying that the front bushes are likely to be worn, cos it wanders a little whilst driving! The bushes were probably worm before I got it, but since fitting the big wheels, its likely that they have exaserbated the problem. And, he tells me that two of my ABS sensors are faulty (via fault codes on the ECU) So, I've ordered two front wishbones, two bottom ball joints and the associated bolts etc. I've left the ABS sensors for now, cos they are fookin expensive. Anyone suggest anywhere I might get ABS sensors from that aren't £50 (front) and £100 (rear)???

Fair fookin play, Jay! That looks fantastic, looking forward to drooling over it (metaphorically speaking) at Edition 38! -

Is that Bordeaux Pearl dude? If so, I might have to re-tint my rear lights. They are currently all red , but the red is fading..:( -
That looks truely awesome....show car only though, which does defeat the object of a Corrado doesn't it? But hey, probably just the little green monster talking there![/envy]

Quite like the idea of this too, might have to raid my ex-wroks stock in the fitting bay for some gromets!! 8)

Just had a look at the pics of those TT seats.....mmmmm....they look great! Car looks gooooooood 8)

WTF... Nice saxo. :pukeright:

The only thing is you don't want to run out half way through the job. If it was me (not that my brake skills are any good!) I'd get two litres to be on the safe side.

I might be able to change it to the 5th, but I need to speak to my Project leader at work, and Stealth.
-
Was going to get them to do that too, I would be interested if all my hard work polishing that cylinder head has made any difference at all! The chain was changed about 5k ago along with 8 of the tappets (when I did the KR cam and cambelt), and the other 8 tappets I changed when I did the head. Which makes me wonder why it is so noisy :? I hope so. Do you think I should get them to stick on a better exhaust manifold too? (That's if there is one available!)

Got a rattly top end! Hell of a lot noisier than it was, plus the power doesn't seem right to me, probably just needs a setup, but just thought I'd get the masters to have a look, and sort the bloody thing out! Seems to run out of legs above 5500k, but not all the time! Idle is a bit weird too, some time it will hold at around 1800rpm for no reason, I blip the throttle and it settles down again. Timing is set dead on 6 degrees advance at idle. I might get them to give it a service too, but haven't mentioned that to them yet. Have been doing the servicing myself thus far! (Probably not a good thing :?)

Got my car booked in at Stealth next Monday (1st August), anyone else going up there? Wouldn't mind someone to talk inane Corrado stuff to while I'm waiting??? Cheers
-
Well I drove th car this lunchtime and the light has gone off, so I guess some water residue in the switch and/or connector Happy now! Plus my brakes are good!!!!
-
Other Rados mainly, but have had a couple of nods/waves from people driving other tuned VW's recently

Oh yes, this all sounds familiar! Just cos I’m passionate about my Corrado, and talk about it at least once a day at work, I constantly get the pi$$ taken out of me. I agree with everything you all have said to be fair. It really gets me down and why do people think it’s funny to ridicule me cos of my hobby! :( :( :( I get the “boy racer” thing as well of the guys at work, at that gets right on my t1ts, mostly from my mate who drives a fookin Saxo VTR! Go figure? Ah well, I guess I’ll just ignore it and not mention my car or this forum at work again! Makes for a boring life at work though, but hey, for a bit of piece and quite, I’ll give anything a go!

The cap was on the reservoir! I was always told that if you got brake fluid on paint you should just chuck water on it as brake fluid is hyposcopic (absorbs water like a sponge!) as it can strip it. Anyway, I'll give that a go today!
-
I disconnected the connecter on the reservoir switch and the light goes out. I did spill some brake fluid when I was bleeding the brakes, so I chucked a load of water around the reservoir once I'd finished to clean it off. Would water in the connector contacts cause it to glow dimly? I've blown onto bothe female and male connectors to try and get re=id of any water residue, but its still the same :? :?
-
"bounces" back no problem. :? :? :?
-
The light is bright when the handbrake is on, but dim when not. Could the switch be knackered then?
-
Right, I've just fitted VR6 calipers and bled the brakes, and they seem fine, but the handbrake light ((!) symbol) stays on dim after I've disengaged it! Anyone know what that means :? Brake fluid level is at its max, if not a little over...
