  1. Can you point me in the direction of the drains and what's the best way to clear them, guessing length of wire of some sort? Also is there any workshop manuals on the corrado - other than the hugely expensive Bentley one? Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the replies! This looks like a pretty active forum :)
  3. Started looking at the how to posts and a bit gutted at this being one of the 1st jobs i have to tackle since only had the car a week!
  4. Going by the fact my passenger footwell is wet and there is a smell of coolant - I have been advised that I probably have a leaking matrix! Therefore I am in need of one... I have the 1.8 16v in case there is a difference - thanks!
  5. Yes, I would say there is a coolant smell. Sounds like you hit it on the head - many thanks!
  6. Can someone tell me what that sensor does? Looks like the engine has been running for a while without this connected...
  7. Excellent - give me a shout for sure and we can sort something out - thanks
  8. Funny you mention that - I am only getting cold air through the fan! What is the connection between this and the wet floor? Thanks!
  9. Just replaced the interiors my 1.8 16v. When I was scrubbing the carpets when all the seats were out I came across the sodden passenger side footwell! Any pointers on where to begin looking for the source? Thanks!
  10. Just found a fried electrical connector in my engine bay and it turns out to be the one that connects to the throttle body. Does any one have one with a enough wire to splice on again? It is a 3 pin connector. Thanks!
  11. Thanks for that Sean! Have a head set of gaskets in the post, so I'm guessing the rocker cover ones will come in the pack. Was preparing for a head gasket job...
  12. Any advice on what best to do with a badly corroded section behind the fuel flap. The filler pipe is fine, but around it is in bad shape - mainly bottom left corner.
  13. Just got the new car, 1.8 16v, and serviced her. When pulling the old spark plugs the 3rd one had quite a bit of wet oil. Before I star exploring I thought it best to check with the experts. I was going to start with a compression test and take it from there... Any help would be great.
  14. Just taken ownership of a 1.8 16v. When I am turning at very low speeds - pulling out of a parking space or at crawl on half or full lock, it is a bit clumpy. At speed it's fine, but at low speeds its lees than smooth. Any help would be great!
  15. Oh, I have been misinformed... The guy breaking one told me Mars red. Pity that, I just bought a couple of rattle cans for Mars red too! Thanks for the replies! The car is 1990, so Tornado red it must be...
  16. Can someone help out with a question about pre 92 Red paint colour? Was there only one choice of Mars Red? I haven't picked up the car yet and need a front wing. Just want to have things ready for when the car gets to me and I get stuck in with restoration. Thanks!
  17. Looking for a red drivers side front wing. I have a 1990 and am new to the Corrado scene, but have noticed that there must have been a change from 92 on? Many thanks!
  18. Thanks! Plans are to get it up here and check is all mechanically sound. Have a lot of experience with the m4 golf (AUM) and the mk2 scirocco (DX) engines, but nothing with the 16v - so will take it slow as far as that goes. Want to put the BBS RC 16" wheels - if I can find a set. No doubt I will be on here a bit getting to grips with the car - looking forward to the journey!
  19. Looking into wheels and wanted to know what size you would recommend? Anything I need to look out for? Thanks
  20. Just about to service a 1.8 16v what oil do I need? Thanks in advance.
  21. BTW I am up north of Aberdeen in Peterhead just in case there are any of you up this way...
  22. Just about to pick up my 1st Corrado a 1.8 16v. Went from a mk2 Scirocco to a mk4 Golf and now need something a bit more classic again. Is the 1.8 16v a decent pick? Was looking to get VR6 but the cost was a little prohibitive. Looking forward to the journey :)
