Little hiccup as GSF have supplied the wrong matrix :( the body is same but the flange that goes through the bulkhead is too short and doesn't allow the matrix to insert fully into the heater box. Need to wait for the replacement :( Couple of pics with the box refurb done...

Thanks for the tip Chris, you mention your knuckles and I chuckled. I have plasters and numerous sections of flesh exposed - so more of the same to come... I am waiting for the foam to come, so at least the hands are getting time to heal :)

Thanks for the link! Just had a quick look and looks spot on. Do you cut the foam a little bit bigger than the flaps or to size?

Is the adhesive strong enough or do you have to use something in addition to ensure strong contact?

Just need to get a write up about how to refurb the foam bits. Literally, there is nothing left anywhere and the venting was full of the disintegrated bits.

Thanks, so just take out the brackets and leave the clocks attached? Then the dash should clear them...

Thanks for the quick help. Sean - I felt the vacuum hose, but there's another cable connected to the speedo - that's the one I'm struggling with.

One quick question - everything is disconnected and ready for the dash to come out, the clocks... Can't get them out enough to see how to remove the speedo cable. Got the electrical one out, but not the speedo one. Any pointers as will be working blind behind the clocks?

How much of the felt do I need? Is that just for the flaps etc

Thanks for all the help. I eventually came across you how to with the photos and got it all printed out - so ready to do battle again later tonight. Where can you get the foam gaskets? Noticed the one behind the centre console has disintegrated and there is about 40% missing! Is there a kit with all the gaskets, so I can replace all? Thanks again!
