You could lathe drill and tap a thread into the end as a cheap fix. If you weld you would need deep penetration. It looks like high carbon steel? It will probably unbalance at high rpms a touch. Take it apart and have a new shaft made up. Won't cost too much.

Is there any dazzle? I hate Hid kits. The warm up and poor beam yield is the worst of rice. If you can take a pic of the beam at bumper level. I'd move to COB bulbs if they can look stock at 4300k.

Can you post a picture of the sill? The corrado one is spot welded in umpteen places and is a pita to remove.
