I always find it best NOT to keep track of how much money is spent on cars :) It's so much easier that way
-
Is this like Canon and Ball?
-
You'll be looking at a 16v 1.8 then. Just get the best looked after one you can find with a decent history and as much replacing the running gear etc and you be fine. Please don't give it blue wheels ;) :)
-
That sounds like a good idea - I would have loved to have a good Turbo'd corrado - in blackberry with black leather and nice wide Borbets :)
-
Don't listen to him - Modded MR2 Turbo all the way :D ;)
-
I got the impression you may be of that thinking . Having seen you comment in a few of the alternative car threads of the last couple of months ;) What you been thinking then??
-
no problem M777 :) I was not meaning to be anal about them - I can't help it - its a prerequisite to be a member of the/any car fourm :)
-
what's the  for?
-
Puely from a looks perspective - the interior of the coupe is very nice. Could have gone wrong very easily with the paint colour sweeping over the dash but it looks spot on. Good that the majority of them have leather as standard to. The seats are a lot softer the corrados tho on the standard leathers. Am I right in thinkng the LE's have recaro leather or some sort of upgraded seats?

'Vor-Spring Dutch Technique' hehe - you love it really :)

You can't get a UK MR2 Turbo - and straight line/corners/up a hill they are quicker than the coupe. I must admit to not being a massive fan of the image at first- but it has definitely grown on me and you don't have to do the whole rice thing - you can keep it simple and have them look really smart. I bought one purely for the engine and handling - by far and away the most fun car I have driven. And for cheap upgrade - £20 FCD and a £20 MBC and you are good to make a very fast car serisouly fast. You would be hard pushed to find a FWD car that would keep up with one. I find it really funny how so many people who are leaving the Corrado or have gone to one have considered or owned similar cars. Then again opinions on more expensive cars are shared. :)
-
The problem is, which I am sure most here will agree as with the G60, is that having a quick standard car with the ability to add substantial more power for not to much outlay and without losing to much reliability - the temptation is to great :) I am just trying to convince myself why I don't need a bigger intercooler :D
-
hmmmmm shades of pot calling kettle black.......especially with your MR2's stereo-typed kind of owner   hehe - I was waiting for that. No way a 270+bhp rwd car is gay :) A clio is feminine right down to the name
-
Clio's are just gay though - sorry :)
-
Jim - I doubt the stealers would even offer you anything for a p/x on the corrado. They are not interested in older cars - if anything you will get something like 1.5k off max. Most likely they will tell you to sell privately I went for a drive in 4motion and a 1.8T a few months back and did like the refinement - butt he handling is not there and you just have to look out your window to see several MK4's go by. (Unless you live in a basement flat. Or on a boat)

"For sale: 1 BBS wheel, slightly herbed" coat got

Aye me to to be honest, although the problem was they are a good 1-2k more than the 5k for a fiat coupe. So much more soul though which I guess is more what a V6 is about :)
-
hehe - each to their own but at least they are driven by the proper wheels and have the engine in the right place  I guess if you want to change to the Fiat from the corrado it boils down to whether you want a turbo'd car or not instead of the nice VR. If you are just after a change and like the VR engine then go for the Alfa GTV V6 perhaps - they are lovely cars as well although a bit more expensive to buy. The newer ones have a 3.2 litre engine and if you get a silver one they look the dog's knees

When I was was selling my G60 the main contenders out a few considered were the Fiat Coupe 20vT and the MR2 Turbo In all fairness I would say the MR2 Turbo is the poor mans Ferrari as it is Mid engine RWD 2 seats and quicker than the Fiat :) The coupes are nice though and a total bargain as a sub 60k R reg can be had for £5k. I very almost bought a nice red one with black leather. As Roddy said, they will easily out accelerate a Corrado but the handling is not as good. I reckon if you got one to replace the Corrado you would still be happy with it but also miss the good things about the Corrado. IMO though they are on the verge of power/weight in a FWD so if you plan to up the boost then it will lose grip pretty easily. The 20v engine also sounds really nice. Have a look round the net - you will find many reviews comparing them head to against the VR6, Alfa GTV V6 and Nissan 200sx. Best thing to do is go drive a few for sale near you - only way you will find out if you like them or not. You will probably notice that they do not feel as sqaut on the road as the corrado - definitely worth a look though :) You should also quite easily find one that has not been to abused as they have not properly taken off with boy racers yet due to high insurance and I guess the Fiat stigma. Another common fault is with the exhaust manifold which can be expensive to fix. Oh - and they look good from about front, side, 3/4 and inside but crap from the rear
-
That looks superb - a well looked after red corrado can look great when the paint has its full colour.
-
went to look at a new corrado today!!!watcha think?

I would say for the miles and the condition under the bonnet! it is pretty damn steep. Fair enough it has a FVWSH - but with no engine work done or mention of running gear etc - you could definitely find better for the same ££. Would probably need to know more history to determine if its worth going for imo. -
People still use Jabba chips?? :) Do you have the new one without the 3.5fpr?
-
Yeah definitely - I assumed when you mentioned the oil you were going to do this. Drive a few miles with the old oil first though before changing it maybe.
-
It'll be fine if you have done 1000 already. Just take it easy and always make sure your temps are 90c plus before going over 3ki odd. You'll be fine with semi as well. Just worry about not crashing again :D
-
hehe - you should mount it in the boot :)
