16v. Big Project/ tonne of parts. Regretfully selling
Mike Hall replied to Micky Blue's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
I would be very interested in purchasing the shell and panels etc If you are not able to sell whole. It would be perfect for my G60 Restoration -
But that's the thing, you don't need to buy a printer to have something printed. I could send a piece to someone with a high quality printer and have it printed as a one off. I couldn't send a model to an injection molder and have one made up without having to pay for the custom die and likely a run of several thousand.

It's very possible, the chargers are delicate so I would advise getting it rebuilt before it ends up an expensive paperweight. Even if just for your piece of mind.

Sounds like the boost return delete, lot's of people have done it. Wouldn't cause stuttering but to be sure I'd post a picture so we can see. This is the pipe setup before and after: Taken from here. Take a look if you'd like to know the reasons behind it.

But that £5000 printer is still cheaper than the machine and the dies to create the component with traditional plastic production techniques

You are clearly speaking as someone invested in a standard manufacturing processes or someone who hasn't done any research into commercial 3d printing. I assure you both the quality or size of 3d printers is only as limited in the same way you would be with any injection molding machine. Surfaces can be completely smooth from the printer and the size of the machine can be whatever you need to be developed. 3D printers are already used in a huge number of industries from healthcare to spacecraft. You shouldn't base your view of 3d printing on £200 desktop hobby printers. These images are of 3D scanned sculpture which was then shrank down, printed and silver plated. As you can see there are no build lines in these prints, with the mirror of the silver these would be even more apparent.

Absolutely, I will take some this week

That's just not true, the printer I use has an accuracy of 0.05mm and there are many better ones available. Including those that can print metal.

Hey Si, Thank you very much for that information. The car was originally sold to me with the information that it was running a race cam but I was suspicious with the car having a smooth idle. At least I can now go ahead and find an actual aftermarket cam for my rebuild. Many Thanks, Mike

Bumping as finally getting round to building the engine

Thanks for all the replies, it's ran for a full year at these temps, it's currently running an Eaton M65 but it has also been overheating with a g60 and with no charger at all. I've tried a couple of the different additives but nothing has helped. I'm on a standard thermostat and a manual slimline fan that I turn on before every drive. The heater matrix works fine, I've not tried bypassing it as it flowed without restriction when I put a hose to it. I'm pretty sure that the new pump was a plastic one. Ever since I've owned my g60 it's ran hot but nothing I've tried has helped bring the temps down. The water temp will sit at 100 if I'm moving and will climb to 115-120 when in traffic. Sitting at 3,000 rpm my oil temp will rise to 130 and sitting at 3,500 - 4,000 will cause the temps to rise to 146+ So far i have replaced or fitted; Water pump Thermostat Expansion bottle Expansion cap Radiator Black temp sensor Blue temp sensor Clocks Top rad hose Heater matrix return hose 16 row mocal oil cooler Head gasket (crack tested head too) Proper coolant Unless there is a crack in the block I'm out of ideas, anyone ever experienced this ? Any help is much appreciated. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I'd love this but it's too far for me to collect -
I can currently print black or white and the printer has a crazy accuracy of 0.032mm and a max print size of 295 x 211 x 142 mm. It's new to me so i'll need to have some experiments myself to make sure it is suitable. Ahh i see, i can definitely give it a go, could you measure the one you have and make sure it fits in the print area avaliable i mentioned above, thanks.
-
Definitely i'll just need to make sure it's cost effective for you as the prints are a bit expensive due to the high detail it can print at.
-
Definitely possible but aren't there already several versions of them for RHD?
-
Yeah that would be easy to do as long as the item isnt too big :)
-
I'm a 3d artist and have access to a 3d scanner and printer, i may be able to pick this up. However my 3d printer costs a bit more to print but the quality is spot on. Would you be able to forward the prices you got Jim and i will see if i can atleast match them.

Aw gutted, just tried to register and the stand is full :( -
Hi all, I know this is pretty specific but I was wondering if anyone was running this setup ? I'm interested to know if a chargecooler can handle the heat if the Eaton. Thanks Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

That's what I wanted to hear, thanks. I'll see about taking it to a rebuilder and getting it checked over. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Hi all, I have removed my g60 and found wear to the displacer. I presume it can't be saved but it can't hurt to ask. Thanks Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
