use a HP, set to highest setting, crank volume to what you would consider the loudest you would listen to, drop the HP down will speakers distort. job done :)

Turn2 (USA) Cold Air Intake (CAI) system for the VR6
pablo_vr6 replied to martyjmcfly's topic in Suppliers Forum
there have been loads of reports on this from the vortexers too. -
is there a way to test the cables? the noise seems to definately be coming from the nearside rear wheel and really sounds like a shock. anything i can do to test if the shock is knackered?
-
http://www.locomail.com/niko/mycorradow ... corradocf/ he is on vortex someplace and on ebay as boosted60 or something. sorry I cant be more specific. usa obviously.

right the plot thickens. The knocking from the rear (pass side) is getting worse. Had it in the garage today and they cant find anything wrong with it. he suspected the shock was on the way out and I tended to agree but it seemed to also happen to a lesser extent when stationary! my thoughts then were exhaust (he checked all the hangers etc) but I can rattle it around with a good bit of movement and it doesnt catch anything. is there anything else back there that can make a knocking noise like this?

I meant that an EQ would mimic a bass cube as you can jusk hike up 50Hz ;) As you say an epicentre reconstructs bass not found on older recordings. dunno if this is much an issue on newer CDs tho

Turn2 (USA) Cold Air Intake (CAI) system for the VR6

bought direct from USA - even paid by paypal. my mate also got one for his 330Ci. the instructions are pretty good but Id no intention of relocating the can. -
just checked the pads and they are 100% no resistance from the handbrake, handbrake engages fine so I think its just a coincidence and the exhaust silencer ir rocking or something. going in the garage this afternoon - dont have time to look at it further :(
-
brakes are all new (last 2k) discs and pads.

carbonio comes with stuff to relocate the can. I bunged mine in the garage tho I have to say. -
I've managed to balls up my chance of owning a Corrado...

3 points should make any difference. besides you havent got them yet so get cover before the points are dished out ;) I take it the increase is due to you going it alone rather than the speeding fine? -
in the recent snow I went to move the VR and the back end was frozen. after a little gentle rocking it came free but now Ive a knocking from the rear. A friend suggested it might be the pad has broken and is clunking around. any similar experiences? ta -pablo

are turn2 back in business? people were having serious problems for a right while there. Id go carbonio myself ;) -
the internals are fecked on my wiper motor. can I strip one out of another vw? the entire mechanism is fine just need the motor assembly. cheers -pablo
-
bass cube then i guess. do you have an EQ? If so you can probably get much the same effect and save yourself £250 (or however much they are these days)
-
bass cube and epicentre are 2 different things really. personally Id not bother with either tbh. id imagine the bass cube more apt to spl competition and the epicentre more suited to street bass applications (just want my bass loud). the epicentre restores the low down frequencies that are sometimes missing in recordings as 99% of people hifi cant play them. Ive never used one but they seem to be well regarded. the bass cube however is a dynamic bass boost function really. you select the freq you want to boost then hike it up. not really mega useful in SQ apps imo.

thiele small - pah ;) any sealed box I ever did was small - 0.6 cu ft. with sealed getting the exact volume doesnt matter so I built small and used wadding - always got a nice clean punchy sound - PERFECT :D
-
just make one mate - its not too difficult.
-
i prefer a small sealed 10 myself.
