  1. do you plan to compete lee? if so what area?
  2. sure it was a cossie? ;) cmon like the VR6 is quick but a cossie? and last week someone held against an RS4? evo owners will be feeling the pinch next
  3. Ive heard this a lot but it seems to me to be one of those urban myth things. does it ACTUALLY happen?
  4. :D so my GF keeps saying ;)
  5. i agree dinkus - to be honest with some work a 1k system can sound bloody good!!!! its not just a case of buying X Y and Z there is work that has to go behind it too. deadening doors, building enclosures etc. much more returns in that area than in buying fancy stuff imo.
  6. i got zimmerman discs from GSF for £35+vat each. they are crossdrilled which is nice. whole lot cost me £214 thats 4 x discs and 4 sets of pads (did the rears too)
  7. agreed but LEE seems to be up for a good system :) well he has 3ways anyway which is always the sign of someone commited to good sound :D
  8. i certainly dont have that on my VR6 :(
  9. i can say from experience you get NO noise from sinfoni. in my car i was able to sit with the volume on max playing silence and there wasnt a trace of noise in the system. its one of the tests on the iasca cd and most cars will experience a little hiss on full volume. not mine :D its without a doubt the cleanest amp Ive ever owned.
  10. Just looked at them, signal to noise ratio is 90dB. That poor for the money.[/quote:6f151] are you kidding these amps are the creme de la creme mate.
  11. i think you would be better with 2 x 2ch amps mate as getting a really powerful 4ch isnt too easy (needs to be 4x125ish to give 500w to the sub). obviously a 4ch is a neater solution though so it just depends what you can afford if you want showy look at sinfoni :) pricey tho ;) quick Q - what ohm is the sub? 4Ohm or 2Ohm?
  12. sure £127 is a steal mate you did the right thing. hard to buy a decent sub on its own for £100 :(
  13. seems the best solution Jim to your problem - hard to beat a spanking new one :)
  14. royal mail 48hr parcelforce. arrange it online and they come to collect. wrap each wheel in a binbag with something covering the face of the rim and should be grand. or get some wheel boxes from a shop. £38 from NI to england it cost me. 17s with no tyres.
  15. nasty on the DLS :( yeah I defo prefer the soft domes as well altho like you my fave speakers have metal domes (the JL XR 3ways). focal are just pure bright but their midbass is pretty strong which is nice. I think my ideal system would be: Pioneer P9 HU (with DSP of course) AD 6.5" mids morel supremo tweeters JL 15W6 sinfoni amps and NO 6x9s ;)
  16. lol yes mate - I had some morel 4" tweeters before - LUSH!!!! pain in the arse to fit tho ;) Id recommend JL XRs - I had the 3ways and they are still the best Ive had also like the focal polyglass for midbass (the older ones).
  17. you can buy new hinges and keep the std door. i thought they were still well pricey tho.
  18. I had AD speakers up there (£500 jobs) in fibreglass pods and they sounded good. back to std at the minute (for now). alpines are still in the box mate. never been used.
  19. ah cheers for the info! any mods about can pretty much scrap this thread then.
