Well its getting close now !! I move into a place right on Sydney harbour tomorrow, with under cover security parking, wahoo !! I met up with the guy who is clearing my C at customs and sorting various paperwork out etc, such a good bloke, a VW enthusiast himself who's been in the business of importing cars for years and never come across a C, he didn't even have to come and meet me today, it was to pick up all the shipping papers/forms etc which normally people post to him. Thing is i've been in plenty of contact with him as regards trying to value the car for VAT/Tax purposes. Bit hard when theres no other C's to value it against. But he's done me proud, and managed to compare it against a Sierra Cosworth ?? To cut a long story short, all up i've got about $3500 to pay, which includes towing it to a Mechanic to have child safety restrainsts put in the rear seats, not really sure what they actually are yet but i'll find out when i go and pick it up from the mechanic. The car arrives on wednesday but probably won't be unpacked until friday, he's even offered t take me to the port to see it if i like ! If all goes to plan i should be on the road by the end of the month ! Spotted a couple of Mk 2 Golf 16Vs but no Corrado's yet !! Hanging out to drive it again !

The thing is with the air-con rad is that you can't get a front mount intercooler in, which is something you might want in the future. I had the air-con one (675mm) but now have a Rallye FMIC and Radiator. The Rad bolts on behind the IC and isn't even that much smaller than the air-con one anyway. Theres enough room for 2 fans on there aswell. Also worth mentioning that if you put an oil cooler on then that will bring your water temps down aswell.

I'll bet you're right aswell mate, exactly the same thoughts as what i had when i first got my Corrado. Its quite noisy aswell, just the valves opening and closing i believe, its in the manual.

Nice one - looks so much neater without that horrible baffle box coming out of the charger, the u-bend will never leak aswell which is cool.

Jim, Jay is in Brisbane, spoken to him many a time as you told me about him when i first looked into shipping the car over here. Me and the Importers have been trying to get the car valued for tax/vat when it arrives. Basically the less its valued at the less i pay, its all getting complicated cos theres no records of value on a Corrado over here, and nothing of a similar spec to compare it too.They can base it on purchase price but it won't include depreciation. Got a call from them this morning and they've compared it too an RS Turbo. And the RS is worth a bomb over here !! Basically, people get $25-30 grand for one, over 10 000 pounds !! So they're sticking with purchase price otherwise i could be paying fick loads of tax, as the car has just gone up in value by 100% basically. They've looked at pics of my car here on the forum and said they loved it and that it will be worth a bomb in a few years. Am i going to sell it ?? Of course not !! PS, i got a job !! Start monday ! Been looking into plates for mine, closest i could get was N VW 60G in 'euro style' which is the same size as UK plates, if only they let me put the G in front of the 60 !! Or in a much smaller size, too small IMO cos doesn't fill the recess at the front, i could have one of these, what do you think ??

Cool, Darren reckons a 15-20% power gain, thats goota be good. I've got a Rallye cooler and radiator (for the Australian sun) for mine. Did you get the gasket and bolts sorted ?? And what about the weird support bar thingymajig !!??

Cool - i done mine with 4-5 coats of tinting spray but not happy with the finish, still looks a bit orangey when the sun is on them. Maybe i'll give anther brand of tinting spray another go, just wondering if red paint (and pin striping) would work. Cheers mate 8)

I expect that with your set-up Chris you'll be OK because you have an oil cooler which will bring water temps down aswell ............. keep updating the thread mate, i'll be doing mine soon. Strange that the cooler hits the rad though, are you saying that the rad is in its standard holes, the IC in standard holes and this is what happened ??

G'day cobbers !! Nice to find a thread about wishing me luck !! Its monday morning here so i'm starting the job search and finding somewhere to live and park the car when it arrives. Weather was amazing all weekend, went fishing off some rocks by the ocean yesterday, pulled a 2kilo groper in and barbequed it ozzy style !!
