  1. would you believe it that this guy (name is Paul Fairweather) used to live up here in Scotland, bout 70 miles from where I stay and was a regular at cruises here in Aberdeen ? Used to drive a red 5-door 1.6 Nissan Almera on 19" wheels........he is also discussed here: http://www.eastsidevw.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=2 Oh and here is his bebo ! http://bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=115199244
  2. Here's a couple of strip / refurb / rebuild guides mate, HTH http://the-polisher.tripod.com/id6.html http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... sc&start=0
  3. It seems like an average to good condition late G60 to me, it has Recaro black leathers which are worth £1000 on their own (if one removed it and sold it on it's own, that's what it's worth), with a standard interior it would be worth £2000 needing a charger rebuild. These interiors are highly sought after so you can ask for more than standard interior. The interior basically makes up for the fact that it does have higher miles and requires a charger rebuild. If it had lower miles and freshly rebuilt charger it would be worth nearer £4k IMO.
  4. Hmmn, I really cannot see a 2.9VR6 rado pulling 240BHP from just a big valve, p+p head, cams, induction kit (neg. increase if it all unless CAI), CAT back exhaust and remap. However, post up the RR printout when you have it done mate, will be interesting to see ! Cheers
  5. £2100 ?? Eh no, she is worth about £3000 if not slightly more, although she has higher miles and needs a charger rebuild, the black Recaro leather is worth about £1000 by itself ! So basic straight G60 with service history in good nick = £2000 + £1000 for interior = £3000 at least. The time of year doesn't make a car worth any less, it just may mean that it's harder / takes longer for a car to sell than in spring / summertime. Also it's worth bearing in mind that a corrado / any car is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Cheers
  6. Come on mate, the BBM charger without the silencing unit is way louder than the standard charger ! It even states this on both: G-Werks site - "Note: Please realize that this auxiliary mounted, non silenced charger kit is loud. Add the silencer kit option for near stealth mode." BahnBrenner site - "Keep in mind that this charger is much louder than the G-Lader and will attract some attention." and there are numerous threads about how much louder is is on the forum, e.g. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... &start=255 http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... r&start=15 http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... bm+charger http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... bm+charger
  7. I would tend to use a bit of sealant on the charger / plate mating faces otherwise the seal won't be air-tight and you may potentially lose boost I would have thought ?
  8. Not sure if you need a new chip Bill, but think the kit pretty much fits straight on. Yep, would go for the silencer kit if was installing one, comes with all the boost / intercooler pipes etc I think. You'll need to clean out your intercooler, all boost / intercooler pipes and throttle body as well. I take it the car wasn't running for long after the charger went ? As long as parts are cleaned out with high-pressure airline of all debris and engine wasn't running long after charger blew (for bits to be sucked through etc) you should be fine. Cheers
  9. The Maha diagnostics rolling road is the one that the Star Performance VAG tuners here in Scotland use for their RR runs etc. See the 4th post back above for the Maha RR plot / printout for Joe M's VR6.
  10. Not a huge difference ? Well your looking at £2000 plus fitting for the BBM Screw charger (price for the silenced one, £1650 for the standard one) as opposed to approx £950 for a new G60 charger or approx £500-£600 for a fully rebuilt and ported secondhand G60 charger. If I had the money go for the BBM one but if funds don't stretch then get a secondhand charger and have it rebilt and ported or just rebuilt mate, and save yourself £1000-£1350 over price of BBM kit. Cheers
  11. Weird, must have been the original belt in there then. I take it Fat Tony never had the charger inspected and or rebuilt due to the low miles ? Can't say have ever heard of a charger to go at such low miles ! V.bad luck mate, hope you get it sorted soon.
  12. Any CNC turners / millers / metal workers should be able to so it for about £10 a wheel (what I was charged) as long as they have clamps with diameter large enough to take a 16 / 17" wheel.
  13. Ah yes, the infamous cr4p quality uprated headlight loom............from the same eBay seller of the famous G60 dump valve kit ! Seriously, these kits are not worth the money and are supposed to be waterproofed and shrink sealed ! Better off buying a decent quality one from guys on here or making your own. Good luck with fitting mate !
  14. TBH matethey look to be about ET15 as they stand which isn't too bad. Could easily get the back of the wheel machined by 5-10mm or you can safely run 15mm adapters with no probs, just might not be avail off the shelf (think 20mm is min off shelf). Getting arches pulled is pretty expensive but getting arches cut and rolled is not too bad, Personally, I would go for thinned adapters or machine wheels at rear and get arches rolled, job done. Cheers and HTH
  15. Let me guess, you bought the legendary......... VW CORRADO / GOLF / POLO G60 "DUMP VALVE" KIT Item number: 130063781593 Not a dump valve kit whatsoever, but a boost return removal kit, but yeah you need to use some sort of gasket sealant around the blanking plate / charger mating faces. I would disregard any of the instructions telling you to alter settings on the linkage as never heard of this needing to be done at all...........and I wish he would stop referring to stuff as "dump valve"......
  16. was really talking in terms of normal alloy wheel prices for cars, still they do look good and I guess if money was no objct and I had a custom lowrider / chopper of whatever then I would consider them.
  17. Depends if they are cloth or leather and in what condition mate but this topic has been covered several times before, try using the search feature using keywords and it will normally come up with a selection of similar previously-covered topics. Here goes, mint Recaro leather heated and electric interiors (front seats, rear bench and f+r doorcards go for between £1000-£1200, not as mint for £600-£800. Recaro heated and electric cloth complete interiors go for £600-£800 as well if mint. Normal straight leathers go for between £450-£750 dep on condition. If heated, usually attracts premium of £100-£150. So going on this I'd say your interior was worth £600 and his £1000 (assuming it's mint and leather) including the loom (although these aren't as hard to make up as people think), so say your interior plus £400 would be fair. If cloth and mint then your interior plus £100-ish. Cheers and HTH
  18. Look nice but at $25,000 for a set of 5, (no not a mistype), I think I will pass TBH........
  19. JBOB, am thinking about doing this to my INPRO angel-eyes before I get my upgrade Xenon bulbs, LED sidelights and HID main beam's fitted at end of month. Don't suppose you could give any advice about how to go about doing it as think procedure may vary from the method for doing the standard headlights, di you paint using brush or spray on ? Cheers
  20. G-WERKS for charger rebuilds as they seem to be more interested in helping to manage and cater for G60 owners rather than Jabba who have gone 80 % down the 20VT route it would seem. Give Darren a shout on here, I'm sure will will be happy to help.
  21. Doesn't look like NEEDS a new / secondhand wing mate, that looks quite easily repairable to me, bout £100-£120. However, for all the cost of a second hand wing, £30-£50, might be better to fit that and get it sprayed, prob bout £120-£150 tops, Good luck with whatever you decide.
  22. Magnex, milltek or custom stainless one e.g. blue-flame / Poweflow etc. Will be better quality, last longer and sound far better than the OEM and prob as cheap if not cheaper mate.
  23. diamond cut / polished lip mate and dark anthracite / gunmetal grey or black CC centres (caps the same shade ). Two-tone all the way. That's how will be getting my winter Speedlines refurbed when better weather here and new wheels bought / on car. Give PureKlas (http://pureklas.co.uk/) a shout, very reasonable and amazing work, he did my Borbet's, see them here: http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... ght=borbet
  24. Have seen these on eBay before mate, think Supersport coilovers as they are very similar. Pretty hard ride but for £225 delivered mate, you can't go much wrong I would have thought ! Cheaper than the equivalent Supersports (venom motorsport charging £299 inc. del for a set just now and FK AK's for £250 inc. del special offer) but says these have poly-bushes and they height-adjust over a wider-range if that's your bag. Cheers and HTH
  25. Hence why I said they are not much use for mobile camera's.....
