Just use 70-75 % cooking oil (ideally the "used" stuff that chinese etc rest's throw out on huge cans at the back area's, they will be happy to get rid of it !), sieve / filter it to remove particulates and add 20-25% paraffin / white spirit, hey presto bio-diesel !

Rear bumper early / late compatibility ?
BigTartanJudge replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Exterior
So it's a cosmetic / aesthetic issue then and not a fitting / mounting problem then ? If that's all it is I may be in luck, but I would like confirmation from someone in the know about these things, Cheers -
Rear bumper early / late compatibility ?
BigTartanJudge replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Exterior
Anyone ? -
Hep peeps, Would anyone know if a rear bumper from a 92-95 corrado will fit or use same mounts as a 1991 car ? I need to get hold of a rear bumper (must be new or as new) ASAP and need to know if later ones will fit, are there any differences between them at all ? Unless they use completely different type mounts or diff. mount points is there any reason why they are not interchangeable ? Can any of the rado breakers out there help with this ? Here are the part numbers I have found: 831440060 REAR BUMPER CORRADO 89-91 CORRADO PRIMERED (Bumper Up to 50M-035000) 831440370 REAR BUMPER CORRADO 92-95 CORRADO PRIMERED (Bumper From 50N-000001) What does the "50M" and "50N" and the numbers denote, are these months, if I can find date of first reg of my car, is it poss that later rear bumper is the correct one anyway ? It's just that my car is a 1992 so MIGHT be ok, would need to know what those letters / numbers mean though and find out date of manufacture I guess, Cheers BigTartanJudge

Not the best morning.....UPDATED 07/09/06 (TWICE!!)
BigTartanJudge replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in General Car Chat
aaaarrrrrgggggggghhhh !!!!! Called the bodyshop today to check was ok to come up and put car on axle-stands whilst got tyres swapped over on wheels and then fit new wheels. He says yeah fine, but problem with your car........great, what now ? He says local VW branch called them up last week and said oh BTW your rear-bumper which was on back-order ? It's been discontinued....... W4NKERS ! Was originally told 7-10 days to come from Germany to VW HQ in Milton-Keynes then abother couple days to get to the dealer up here and finally the bodyshop. Have now been waiting 8 weeks since it was ordered, and then only NOW turn round and tell me us this, unbelievable !!!! Now can't get hold of new one at all, been told they can possibly repair existing one but seeing as insurance is paying and everything, I want it all done properly, guaranteed with genuine parts used. Oh yeah, thought the tyres were fouling on the struts because the tyres were too wide, so having swapped them for 205 40 R17's they are still not clearing the strut properly. Am going to have to get a pair of spacers temporarily I think and then hope there is a damn sight more clearance when the coilovers are fitted (bottom of strut, the curved bit is rubbing on the inside of the tyre wall). B***ocks, yet another issue to get sorted :-( Only possibility to fix the bumper issue I can think of is: Can I not use a 92-95 rear bumper ? Ok, the part number is different but I thought they mounted in the same way using the same mounting points ? Just because MIGHT be able to get hold of a new one. Please can someone help ASAP as this is fairly urgent, Not at all happy really at moment........ Cheers -
G off the road for exactly 1 month now! Very Upsetting

Have done a grand total of 87 miles in my blue G60 since driving it up here in Nov 2004, been off the road for 19.5 months in total now, starting to wonder if it will ever come together :-| -
OSV, How did you get your horn to work, wired mine up but it's not working, any chance you could share how you did it on yours ? How many wires you got and how are they connected etc. ? Seems to be different from how my OMP wheel was wired up as horn worked on it no probs :-( Cheers BigTartanJudge

Progress pic from bodyshop (you may notice some subtle changes as well....) am still waiting for new rear bumper to arrive from VW (been waiting 6-weeks now), front mesh and rear number-plate panel to be colour-coded. Also, the black 17" Masitaly wheels are now sold, problem is I need the 205 40 R17 tyres off them to fit onto my new 7.5 and 8.5 x 17" BBS splits (which have stupid wide tyres on them, which then need to go onto the black 17" wheels before I send them down south), so onto axle stands she goes for a couple hours and that's the mission for day off next week...... -
Thoughts on 1995 Audi 100 Avant 2.8 ?
BigTartanJudge replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in General Car Chat
Well my mate bought it last night, M reg 1995 Audi 100 Quattro 2.8V6 Avant, only 110,000 miles, 2 owners, full Audi SH, taxed 10 months tax, 4 months MOT. Needs new lower front grille, 2 new front wings, new bonnet earth strap and a MAJOR clean inside and out, but all this for......................£200, total bargain ! -
Hi, What's the true price for these twin-inlet set-up's ? Heard they were £140 ish but on looking on your website they are almost £200 (£198.57) ?? Also how much for the twin-induction filter option and any pics with heatshield etc ? Please can you confirm Cheers

205 40 R16's all the way round guys, werll that's what I've had on all my sets of 16" wheels, no scrubbage, profile just right and easily obtainable at reasonable prices, Cheers

How do the songs go, "I put a spell on you......" (Sonique) and "Can't get you otta my head" (Kylie) ;-) nice one, shame you have to sell the porker tho :-( -
Mike, I've refurbed a few sets of split-rim bolts now. They looked terrible before I started, all corroded and rusted etc, I used a few tricks and they came up looking AMAZING and like new.Save yourself £100 mate and do the same. PM if you want the details ;-)

Sorry man, but looks to me like da tadger radger badger ;-) has screwed that bumper, plastic can't be bent / pulled back into shape unfortunately....

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
BigTartanJudge replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
awesome car and great vids mate, ....sis looks not too shabby as well, from the wing-mirror shot anyways ! ;-) -
Nope, sold them as needed funds at the time and ALWAYS regretted it.......one of my fav wheels but no use if running big brakes. Bought them from Bob of Westside who run's the green Rallye G60. There is another guy on here that has a set on his VR6, IIRC he converted from VR6 5-stud set-up to 4-stud narrow-track to get the wheels on ! http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... et&start=0

Already said above mate, PM yoda on here or on ed38, think he does the aircraft-grade alloy (much better than steel and obviously lighter) ones, fully helicoiled with bolts for around £190 IIRC, the H&R ones are also good, but think are around £250....
-
sorted then mate !
-
Bet they are AMG splits ? ;-) Anyways, yeah, I was running 205 40 R16 toyo Proxes T1-S on my Borbet B's on my white G60, albeit with no adapters, but offset was still et15 (well et14) as it would be if you used 20 mm adapters on et34 Merc wheels. You WILL need to get the arches rolled though to avoid tyres catching, only about £100-£150 for all 4 arches tho pal. 35 profile better as allows you to go lower on coilovers or lowered suspension. Have got a few pics somewhere, ah here's a few ! Had Koni adjustables fitted.
-
Guessing Audi or Merc wheels then pal ;-) these adapters are available off the shelf from either FK or H&R, in 20 mm widths. There is also a guy on here and ed38 called yoda who sells custom ones made by Forge Motorsport. Really good quality, proper helicoils as well. Yeah can't see it being a problem if I was running et15. 20mm adapters would give offset of et15 which is what I was running with no issues. I would be inclined to even go for 205 or 215 35 16 tyres. Cheers and HTH
-
what PCD are the wheels you are trying to fit / convert from ? Dep on this you can get 20mm adapters off the shelf, but you can get 15 or even 12mm ones made up. 15 mm would make offset et20, wide-ass look just need 40 profile tyres and rolled arches then no probs. I was running et15 9x16 Borbet B's on my last rado and was fine.
