  1. Hi all, Anyone any idea what this part is? Any thoughts appreciated Cheers SCOTCORRADOG60
  2. BTW people, I reckon it would be cheaper to use the 8V G60 engine as base for this conversion. But THE MAIN MAN for advice and information regarding this conversion would be John (A.K.A 16VG60) -see previous posts My advice would be to contact him directly to get the most helpful, and most complete up to date information on this conversion SCOTCORRADOG60
  3. Quote: Does anyone know how much it would cost to supercharge a 16v? And what would be the advantages over a normal g60? Looks like it's someone who wants to supercharge his standard 16V engine. If so these are the parts he would require to source / build engine: G60 G-Lader Supercharger G60 G-Lader mounting brackets and belt tensioner complete G-Lader outlet or RSR outlet G60 Serpentine / idler pulleys for water pump and alternator G60 water pump pulley G60 Throttle body, complete G60 Fuel Injectors and FPR G60 Idle stabilizer valve (ISV) G60 Digifant1 ECU and engine wire harness G60 Digifant control relay G60 Oxygen sensor G60 Water temperature sensor (blue) G60 CO% potentiometer G60 Relays, fuel pump G60 Intercooler hoses to and from the G-Lader G60 Lower water pump pipe Upper and lower coolant hoses G60 Radiator and fan assembly Also you would require to use a thicker copper head gasket to achieve a lower compression ratio for use with the boost, but this isn't the most efficient option. Better idea would be to use custom forged pistons (£500-£650) with the correct compression ratio. So now you have an idea about where the costs are involved. BTW this is information I have gathered from websites and is by no means complete or necessarily fully correct and I am by no means an expert just an amatuer who likes to read up on things.., Cheers SCOTCORRADOG60

  13. Hi all, I am looking for supplier of Riger grilles in the UK. Anyone know of who to contact or even if anyone has one for sale secondhand. Ca2 is 1991 Corrado G60. Cheers, SCOTCORRADOG60
  14. Hey there, I'm always up for it 8) Nice..., SCOTCORRADOG60
  15. Hi Am also in Aberdeen mate. You can transplant the G60 lump into the 16V shell but you will need the engine, loom, ECU, and the brakes (280mm) if you want to be able to stop with the extra power. G60 lumps are quite difficult to get hold of. As far as the 16V G60 conversion goes you would need a complete G60 engine, ECU, loom etc anyway. Best person to talk to about this conversion would be Darren at PD Motorsports on this forum as 8VG60. He has done this conversion before but be warned it's not straightforward, i.e. you will need custom pistons and intake manifold (if you cannot get hold of an Audi S2 or Scirocco 50mm intake) Best of luck with whatever you decide mate SCOTCORRADOG60
  16. Hi, Does anyone know if this would fir a Corrado G60 as the intake pipe diameter seems to be similar? Thanks SCOTCORRADOG60
  17. Hi all, Just got back from discussions with Bavaria Auto-Werke, quote "the Uk's 1st established German Car Specialist.". Got three other quotes from other specialist VAG service agents. All of their estimates were cheaper than Bavaria Auto-Werke in Aberdeen, including main VAG dealer Specialist Cars!!!! Told Bavaria they were taking the p***. Got them to break down the jobs into labour for each, final labour quote had been overcharged by £310 ish!! I paid the service fee and walked away and didn't look back...,How do these people reckon they can get away with it?? Instead C is going into Aberdeen Volks Centre in Kingswells, nr Aberdeen who are going to do all the work for a much more reasonable price i.e about £300 less!!!! Thanks for all advice etc, Will let you know final outcome Cheers, SCOTCORRADOG60
  18. Hi again, Just had interesting conversation with Darren from PD, poss the garage have just added on about 5 or 6 hours of unnecessary labour...,Interestingly enough the VAG dealership qouted only £30 more than specialist and that was with double labour cost!!! By the way its Bavaria Auto Werke in Aberdeen if anyone is interested SCOTCORRADOG60
  19. Apparently the labour charge is as follows: 14.75 hrs @ £35 per hour = £575 or thereabouts BOO HOO Suppose I could find someone to do bits, but rear axle bushes are nightmare apparently....., SCOTCORRADOG60
  20. It's a killer guys cause looked at the estimate more closely and parts are only £180....,it's the labour cost of IRO £575 that is more of a bit**!!!! But to replace bushes they have to drop the rear axle they said which is 4-5 hours labour in itself they say..., Any comments?? SCOTCORRADOG60
  21. Oh my god, Just got the report back from the garage who did the service on the C this morning.....,£797!!! Needs a lot a work done they say, not a dealership but VAG independant specialists and reputable enough..., 10K service, two wheel bearings, fan belt, power steering belt, 2 CV boots, 2 brake pipes, 2 rear axle mounting bushes, pagid front pads, headlamp fault fixed, weld exhaust and of course labour..., What do you guys reckon?? SCOTCORRADOG60
  22. Lanny, Hopefully going to have combination oil temperature and pressure (2 in 1), boost, air / fuel ratio and inlet temp gauges, hence boost and air / fuel in A-pillar pod and others in centre console, SCOTCORRADOG6O
  23. Hi all, Since VW have discontinued the OEM gauge pod / plate that was optional on G60 models I wondered if anyone on the forum has embarked on a DiY version to fit either in the same location (under ashtray) or in place of centre console heating vents or knows of someone that has. Looks like this is the only was to get gauges installed aside from fitting an A-pillar pod (which am doing anyway). Many thanks SCOTCORRADOG60
  24. Something like this Lanny mate, http://www.ndimports.com/catalog/exteri ... %20Grilles OR this one...,the daddy of all grilles IMO http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sra ... g.orig.jpg Cheers SCOTCORRADOG60
  25. Sorry Lanny, Not a fan of the Oettinger grille look mate, Prefer the mesh ones Guy on Ebay has Oettinger grille for Corrado for sale but bit expensive..., SCOTCORRADOG60
