  1. Em, The needle bearing in the centre of the displacer looks the same, however, the two semi-cicular holes (one each side) through the centre of the displacer, separated by fins, have been "made" or formed into three circular holes each side of the displacer (looks like extra bit of metal?) Not sure otherwise. Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  2. Sorry, off topic a wee bit.., Hmmn, Kevin from Aberdeen, Are you the guy on Ebay who is selling the VW 16V / G60 AH profile keys? BigEastsideVWG60
  3. big mac, This should help, reckon no problem, let me know mate Gear ratios with 5-speed manual: 16V to 92: 1st 3.40 2nd 2.12 3rd 1.44 4th 1.13 5th 0.91 Reverse 3.800 Final ratio 3.68 G60 1991-1992 1st 3.778 2nd 2.105 3rd 1.345 4th 1.034 5th 0.838 Reverse 3.800 Final ratio 3.647 Cheers BigEastsideVWG60
  4. Hi Correct me if I'm wrong but expect to pay £900-1250 for a G60 lump. You would also need a complete G60 wiring loom, the intercooler and pipework, digifant 1 engine management (ECU) etc. Complete G60 engines should come with all this. G60 chargers can be had from £600-1000 for reconditioned examples and up to £1500 for a new one from the dealer etc. I think the G60 and 16V gearboxs are very similar (ratios perhaps slightly different), so would be ok to use. It would probably be possible to do yourself but it's a fairly involved job so perhaps left to a garage etc (?). Best people to talk to would be G-man from G-Werks or any of the Pitstop Developments team who would be able to advise you fully and in far greater detail, Cheers BigEastsideVWG60
  5. Ok guys, What would be the ideal gearbox to use for the G60? :) We're talking original VAG parts here as far as ratio's etc What would you base it on and what internals would it have, also what would you use it in conjunction with, LSD, lightened flywheel, clutch etc.? Cheers BigEastsideVWG60
  6. Hi, This is not a factory 16VG0 engine but custom built bits, Also I think AFAIK the alternator is mounted under the G-Lader,] Cheers BigEastsideVWG60
  7. RobyD, See this post for info, http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7831 Check the pictures of my mate's engine at the bottom, cost around £2250 Nice. BigEastsideVWG60
  8. Hmmmn, £1000 plus secondhand? Cheers BigEastsideVWG60
  9. Yo, I reckon that unless you went with a DIY jobbie a FMIC of a decent size would cost a bit more than "a few hundred", we're talking £400-600 for a kit here...., Cheers BigTartanG60
  10. Be warned, if you have a strutbrace the single ones will not fit as the bonnet will no longer close Cheers BigTartanG60

  12. Hey all, Having a wee problem at the moment. The drivers side and passengers side electric window have both stopped working, completely dead. Bit of a problem with the fuel smell at the moment coming into the car and not being able to vent the inside of the car, Cheers BigTartanG60
  13. Hi, I have a few articles on someurbo corrado's if required 8) and have contacts who have built them  Cheers BigTartanG60
  14. From the BahnBrenner website...., Build Option #2 (16V As Your Base Engine): If your starting base engine is the 16V platform then you can use a thicker copper head gasket to achieve a lower compression ratio for use with the boost. This is not the best or correct way to generate the proper compression ratio on any engine, although it is a simple and less expensive route. The preferred method on the 16V base engine is to also use custom pistons with the correct compression ratio for this Supercharged system. BBM has these custom pistons in a limited quantity. Required G60 Parts: G60 G-Lader Supercharger G60 G-Lader mounting brackets and belt tensioner complete G-Lader outlet (silencer box) G60 Serpentine / idler pulleys for water pump and alternator G60 AC pump or European water pump pulley G60 Throttle body, complete G60 Fuel Injectors and FPR G60 Idle stabilizer valve (ISV) G60 Digifant1 ECU and engine wire harness G60 Digifant control relay G60 Oxygen sensor G60 Water temperature sensor (blue) (CTS) G60 CO% potentiometer G60 Relays, fuel pump G60 Intercooler hoses to and from the G-Lader G60 Lower water pump pipe Upper and lower coolant hoses G60 Radiator and fan assembly PLUS Custom pistons at around £450-600 Cheers BigTartanG60
  15. Type this into the search..... g60 AND 16v AND conversion Been discussed a lot, sure it is possible but is expensive and requires custom parts e.g pistons etc. Cheers BigTartanG60
  16. Hey all received the above email this morning. Never heard of this guy before and sounds well dodgy, anyone else experienced this? Cheers BigTartanG60
  17. Iain, I'd advise you to go and get one of these solar battery savers which mount on the dash and plug into lighter socket. They only need light and not direct sunlight, and keep the battery chrage topped up. However, it sounds like you also might need a new battery as yours wont hold charge. Best to remove battery from car, charge overnight or 15 hrs, then try and use to start, or just get voltage tested at a garge. New battery £40-50....,Get one that is under warraty so it will be replaced free of charge if there is a problem - try Autosave Components in King Street or Mastrick. Doh! Just read you leave yours in a garage..., not much chance of light getting in there..., I heard that if you leave the car in valet mode it uses a lot less power, but to leave armed continuosly will drain the battery inside a week or two. Also, if your garage has power, you can buy these battery savers from Halfords that plug into mains and keep charge topped up by connecting direct to battery or 12V cigarette lighter. I didn't need to get the alarm repaired or replaced and my remotes are working too, no problems. Hope this is of some help and maybe see you at some of the local Aberdeen meets in the near future? PM me and I'll send details, Cheers BigTartanG60
  18. Hey all, Problem was that my Clifford alarm was draining the battery after not using it for so long and leaving it armed. Have bought a solar battery saver from Maplin Electronics to keep the charge topped up, £20 bargain and stops annoying flat batteries :) Also had the battery changed to a new one under the warranty as the charge indicator said is was dead even when charged for 15 hrs, Nice, BigTartanG60
  19. 178 MPH   Cheers BigTartanG60
  20. Ok, The beast is back 8) Think I've traced the problem but give me a dayor two to confirm, Cheers BigTartanG60
  21. Hey all, Just wondering if anyone knows how to go about removing the rear number plate panel as I have an idea and want to try it out, any help much appreciated, Cheers BigTartanG60
  22. Anyone got any ideas? Cheers BigTartanG60
  23. Hey all, Having a slight problem with the C. The battery was flat and the engine wouldnt turn over about a week ago, so I jumped it with my Mk2. It was fine for about a week, then it went into the garage last week to get the gear cables replaced. I tried to start it on Sunday and was flat again. I then jumped it again yesterday and ran it for 10 mins to charge up. Then I tried to start is this morning to go to work and it's dead again..., Also is it worth getting one of these solar cell battery trickle chargers and leave it on hte dash whilst conencted to the cigarette lighter so I can keep it charged, anyone have experience with these? I can't believe that the battery is shagged after only 5 months...., The car has a Clifford Concept 50 CAT 1 alarm fitted and as the battery voltage is obviously low it doesn't agree with this and keeps going off as the voltage drop sensor notices. The alarm will go off and then it cannot be reset using the remote keyfob i.e it keeps sounding although you press the disarm button..., I'm not popular with neighbours right now..., The battery is 5 months old and is under warranty, I had a secondhand Kenwood MASK headunit fitted last month and the interior lights etc are all ok and switch off correctly. The alternator is new 5 months ago. Can anyone help me out here as this is driving me crazy ! And in a few days I won't have the Mk2 to keep jumping the C as it's getting sold ! Should I just remove the battery and charge it overnight using mains charger then if same problem happens take it to an auto electricians? Cheers BigTartanG60
  24. Hey I have a spare set for sale too.., Cheers BigTartanG60
  25. Yeah maybe so Roddy but hardly my fault is it eh?! The fact of the matter is my car is in there and have already "had words" with them before following our last meeting so I just hope that they behave, tbh not really interested in other high spec customers cars they have in only my own at this moment...., Cheers BigTartanG60
