  5. hes not got any made yet unfortunately.....this little lot will come to about £75 + vat from the dealer...including a new thermostat.....
  6. OK, this is realativley easy one. I replaced the whole thing last week on a vr6, will pm you a parts list in the morning when i get into the workshop mate. its a case of uncliping the pipes going into the housing, and the bottom rad pipe....draining all the coolant out.... undo the 3 bolts that hold the housing onto the head.....clean up the side of the head with a scraper and then some emery cloth....bolt the built up new housing onto the head, with all the rubber o rings inside it and the funny shaped one that attatched to the head well lubed up ;) re attatch the hoses, refill the coolant system.....stick the heaters on hot and full, run the car up with the lid off the expansion tank to get any air out....run it up to temperature...should be job done! watch out for air trapped in the system...worst times you can feel bubbles moving through the pipes to and from the matrix.
  7. just make sure you change the O ring and stick some new nuts on the studs.... little bit of copperslip on the studs works wonders if you ever want to get them undone again aswell. :D
  8. i changed one of these on an early 89 G60 before christmas......wd40 or rust shock the nuts really well...they should justcome undone.....
  9. mine used to catch on everything....will take a pic of the cat shiled tomorrow...looks like a squished kit kat wrapper!
  10. decat, sod the mot, dam the man! or something...
  11. i thought that, but then they are both listed as VR6 specific.....
  12. just looking for some new coilovers for the vr6, as i seem to have killed the old ones..... Tempted by H&R's...slightly confused by the option of: for cars with basic suspension for cars with plus suspension. what does it all mean?!
  13. AMD went into liquidation, and the software, name and website have been bought by BBT...nothing else. Sounds like BBT are looking for other tuners in the bicester area to take in some of the people who arent prepared to travel to essex. And theres us only in aylesbury.......;)
  14. going to be breaking a car with a set on. anyone know what sort of cash they go for?
  15. anyone know what theyre called and what else theyre fitted to? cheers chris

    FSI Engine

You need the whole car.....to strip for bits and see where stuff goes... or the engine, loom, clocks, keys, ecu, fuel tank, fuel lines, pumps..... The one thats in the orange mk2 uses everything from an fsi car....
  17. Its more snug than the cat....2.5 inch pipe to replace the cat basically...was a bit shorter so we had to fashion a sleve between that and the rest of the system. The system on there is a 3 box, freeflowing 2.5 inch with a stock looking tip...made by powerflow in Aylesbury. Fit and finish is very good, noise was good before but now.....i could live ina tunnel :D
  18. Today we had a spare 5 minutes at the end of the day so slipped a miltek cat replacement pipe onto the VR. Holy mother of god! Fuel economy will no doubt increase as and when i get bored of that sound.... I love VR.
  19. If i ever find the monkey who hacvked, taped and twisted together the loom for this engine i'll kill him. All working now :D
  20. the problem would be that we dont have a matched set of clocks, transponder, and ecu...... and now the ecu is refusing to talk to the vagcom...grrrr
  21. are there any known bypasses for the box of shit, sorry tricks behind the dash? VAG COM is throwing up an inpluasable value error...... pming me might be better from a security point of view ;)
  22. The ones with the script were also apparently only used for one production year....I sourced a set for a customer and porsche apart wanted £65 a side....plus vat.
