-
try prying one of those out of a quattro owners sweaty little mitt's! Also they need lots of sensors hooked up and working, plus a seperate loom and ecu and a voice synthesizer......its enough of a mare when they stop working in the car theyre designed to fit into!

I work at voodoo motorsport....

There are ways of getting around those things... Its not a myth and thats not really what i was saying, OEM management is a slightly more refined option, for the avergae user who wants a quick car with and OEM style install and who doesnt want to mess about with the maps too much. Bear in mind that 80+ people developed the ecu for VAG and you have to assume they know what theyre doing and its all been pretty worked out. DTA and Emerald got so big because back in the day they were the ONLY option (other that sticking key/clocks behind dash...which is ghetto). Its buyers market....lots of options for lots of people.
-
Do you mean lose the need for the MAF, knock sensors etc? Think thats more a DTA/Emerald kinda thing. Would say unless your going to seriously fettle the engine, if you want to drive the car daily, you are much better off with stock management.
-
you can do it with the factory management to....and we can remove the need to use clocks/keys. This is a better option tbh, unless you are going to run water injection, huge turbo, or different internals.
-
call the dvla and ask how many are still registered? they know this statistic, as its used to work out insurance risk, but im not sure whether or not they would tell you....
-
Alot of our customers use the ABF gearbox, although some are now claiming succes with early passat diesel boxes as the ratios are longer. you will need a bigger rad than the 16 one i would imagine....and low profile fans. Custom downpipe is normally required....
-
I'd go with that...sent of the documents to become a trade supplier 8 weeks ago....and were still not approved :S useless twonks.
-
I've been perving over these too.....would be nice to have willwoods allround tbh....

How low is your car? What condition is your sump in??? We had the exact same problem with a VR6 here, turned out to be the sump squahed against the oil pickup on the oil pump (also cracked the pickup pipe, so we replaced the whole thing to be sure). Worth an investigate....
-
from what i could fathom with the help of a genuinely helpful parts guy, theyre now beru..... I have the GSF beru items on my vr6 now and theyre all good....proper connectors at either end, etc.
-
vw leads are just red beru items....same part number other than colour code. beru black leads are about £40 from GSF.
