  1. The best three known bearing manufacture's in no order fag- skf - nsk- all are good and oe to German brands. Ive been doing a bit of research on bearings and the bearing will be code size - skf has a pdf of what the codes mean on their website. Yours will be a 2rs bearing ( 2 rs sealed both sides) Then you have different codes for a ridge for circlip - or c code which means internal clearance of ball bearing- if you can read the codes on your old bearing- you will be able to buy that bearing direct which will be peanuts.
  2. If you dont want the stock version vince was fitting walbro ones from memory (pretty cheap ) for several years I believe- when tps stop supplying them he assumed they were obsolete in till i rocked in with one a few years back that I ordered from autodoc for £180 from memory.
  3. Stone chip away from 6 k - I guess everyone’s insurance is going up then !
  4. Was pissing myself the other dome golden pension gen - several houses in the same in a village - they spent 25k each on one of these ground pumps- well they have all got log burners now as they are to stubborn to use the dometic power after been sold a crock of shite.
  5. Reading article today about multi story car parks- Ev are that heavy they are going to have to widen the parking bays- some of these suv and ev weigh nearly 3 tons- to put that into prospective my 6 meter long ford transit unladen is only 1.5 tones. Another point was that if you have no domestic charge- ie terrace house no front drive it will cost you 16p per mile charge point) whereas a good diesel is 13 p per mile. - so its a fake economy for some. One of these heavy bnw EV monsters in a car park not far from here the other day in Mere Green - pressed the accelerator or had an error and jumped the kerb and mained two women one -leg - other two broken legs- they are like tanks. Also people are seeing 100 miles knocked off the range in winter cold snaps. Apparently sales have dropped nearly 70 percent the last 6 months to. I will certainly not to be looking to buy one - I think they are a huge scandal , like these ground pumps that are just not powerful enough to keep a house warm in winter. Its the era of companies making big money off dumb gov grants and folks that really need helg get shite all bare a few shillings . Only the rich fitting ground pumps and buying EV.
  6. Do like a Mk3 myself - put a set of stern face alloys on them and they look the nuts- they really do carry over sized alloys well.
  7. Same pretty much but there can be few changes like different roof seal gutters- window scrapers - window seals- also some have manual window handless )different cards_ and none abs- slightly different rear bumper line pattern- sunroof switch / light- steering clamshell. These I have seen on 89 cars and 90 and not on some l 91 cars. A none sunroof - abs- window car is a good classic to own for sure- I would be very happy with a rare early colour and poverty spec but with recaro say or leather -mind you the green check is the best cloth material IMO out of the stock cotton range so no major there. Some really nice one year colour codes from 89/90. If your car was a very late 91 car could be possible it was a late body car but with early interior. I had a G60 registered march 92 that was a late body . (late fogs- wings - indicators- bonnet .
  8. Can’t recommend this trimmer enough based in Walsall - I gave him a rainbow bench and some recaro cloth - picked this up earlier - charged me £200 labour - not sure how these scene trimmers are charging people thousands ?when a 60 year old knocks this out the bag in a large shed - love the old skool traders !
  9. Seems like there is no stopping the appreciation of an air cooled 911 - low spec low mileage - all about rwd - manual - air cooled - auction still running - Could of got one of these for 10k - 12 k in the early 2000s average mileage . Hmmm says the seller is John Mitchel - Could it be 🤔 South African import https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1989-porsche-911-964-carrera-2-2?utm_source=Facebook_Mobile_Feed&utm_medium=(DEC)+1989+PORSCHE+911+(964)+CARRERA+2+-+28%2C627+MILES&utm_campaign=CCUK+>+Boosting+(Dec)&fbclid=IwAR1odRZNO02KNVidvgaSXLlyksUwFh8pFMcnz5o7Uq92FYctc74uG88nbhk_aem_Adn_zVvtl3J47JXjfR5ftiPGJ_s2gO41mZPPUyEj293rEVipPrBjD0RcZCEOPqtKNj7mGP0vNpSfhhBm_j1OmrSM7EstoZrUvFxTiseeSKVk5V1tj8tJjbypENpmmcoUq4UdM6V9j8T-xRdApbiQAsLB
  10. Its pained me to sell both my corrado- in fact any car ive worked on- but over the years Ive learnt only own the amount of classics you have storage for -also 2 classics are maximum for me- to add be a balanced collection- no point owning several hatchbacks - mix it it up have a rwd in the collection or a v8 etc . I would say without doubt the highest built quality car ive ever owned was R129 SL500 - bloody bargain car still to this day - auto box bit outdated but when I hit my 50s it sounds like something I well may re visit as a weekend luxury tiger tank cruiser.
  11. The silver vsr owner got it right- make several posts on fb corrado specific pages with a link to the auction a good month before the auction date- I would also post on the usa fb page burn all the corrado- they also love a purple car the yanks - yellow you name it as long as its vibrant- they love a euro special edition - i mean the amount of rotty botty storms them lads have purchased the last few years paying top money for a project - I would also post on vroc. If you can get a youtube channel on board will give the car some more light like volkswizard - the vsr seller also managed to tactically do this- with a large youtube channel, this gave his car some good pre sale marketing. Its the rarest corrado car made from factory it demands a premium full stop- only rarer car was the G60 limited they made two or three i think in hannover. but that was one ugly son of a b...ch .
  12. The whole point of a low miler is a time warp condition - smell like it just rolled out the factory- this car is a rotten egg- not original and most likely clocked .
  13. If its the campaign it is an exception to mileage- all about a good write up letting the world know such a rare car exists - I think a 25 k reserve for a campaign- you never know on the right day could heap in 40 k to the right collecter- go get another- also open the advert up to the usa market as they love a special edition- dare i say it its all about the marketing.
  14. Classic car auction site- my mate said he was not happy how long they held the money back from the buyer to him- came to the point on collection day he would not let the car go on the trailer collecting it intill the auction site coughed up ( he was on the phone barking at them where is my money ) = I think silverstone would be a good auction site for a special car like a campaign- that silver vsr did well there. Campaign will do well or any low miler - my experience with selling mine ( 100 k plus mileage restores) was that I had to remove some of the rare collectable parts to get the value out the car which was a damn shame as of now a full VR6 vwms kit car does not exist. When you look at the rare kitted high mileage e30 325i they fly off the shelf for 25 k sterling with 150 k plus on the clock. I think a high mileage restored car would be very risky to sell on an auction site without a reserve - most likely not sell - most of the 10 k plus buyers are all about low miles- will even pay 15 k for a car that has been rotting in a bush for 20 years just because they can say it has low mileage.
  15. Bacterium esplendidos.
  16. 4k miles but lived in a bush for 25 years with squirrels and robins shitting on it- be my guest and give me your 24 k big ones. Pictures do not show the bush ot was in - the seller says left outside for two years- pure rubbish. Seems to me a rescue cpmpany has got the car off the drive and new selling it - most likley clocked and say for 15 years outside.
  17. Sold for good money 22k add on 15 percent fee to buyer . https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/silverstone-auctions/catalogue-id-ibsil10064/lot-aa11d4dd-587f-4d11-b5b4-af38011cf5bb#lotDetails I would say probably broke even after he spent a bit on the car and fees, Sold for less then this pretty basic 8v gti mk2 though that surprised me. https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/silverstone-auctions/catalogue-id-ibsil10064/lot-c65eede7-fee3-4974-b1c7-af38011dd277#lotDetails Classics seem to be doing well again
  18. Auction live in the next hour- you never know the car could get 30 k plus - silverstone gets very good prices for the cars- there is a a buyers premiun to GUIDE PRICE: £24,000 - £28,000 + buyers premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) on the first £300,000 of the hammer and 10% plus VAT (12% incl VAT) thereafter So i tink this mean what ever the car sells for add on 15 percent for the full amount of buying cost to buyer. I believe the seller gets a 250 plus vat fee for photos and also - im not sure if they take the percentage off the buyer or seller. Entry fees & promoting your car Our listing fee is just £250 +VAT for cars which includes professional photography, videography, fully insured dry storage during the consignment period and full marketing benefits where we will promote your car worldwide. Our sellers commission is 7.5% +VAT for motor vehicles and is applied to the final hammer price. If im reading t correct that means the auctions house bags 20 percents of the cars sale value + £250 combined off seller and buyer which is far too much money - they will never get one of my motors the greedy sods.
  19. It’s messed up the filter as you have to use the slightly shorter and rubber intake boot which allows more play for a stock air box to fit in - I mean last time I looked used air boxes for a vr were £250 - were £60 5 years back. Yes it’s a nice colour - fir that price I would like to see some black recaro in there - silver with grey leather be a bit sickly for me . Recaro xt look the nuts in silver damn miss that car too 😂
  20. Admittedly I’ve never owned KW just a post on fb someone saying they were to harsh on their car - they are certainly costly so must be well engineered for sure . Thr best value Corrado is an early clean 70 k kr valver - say on a h Reg - great buy at 5-6 k . Great return on enjoyment and costs . When your hitting 20 k plus you are competing against a very serious market and higher performance engineered cars - I think a subu are ageing great - powerful - quirk flat 4 - dare I say it a great buy . low mileage e46 are now also rocketing into the hemisphere.
  21. I think it may struggle to get the reserve - the vsr might snag a buyer- really is a basic spec car with a vsr to be honest - lowish mileage but not what you would call a time warp low mileage car - not even original in the bay- missing parts. I think this car sold back in 2018 time at auction for about 12k - owner has slapped on some kw coil overs which are very harsh on a rado and done a service i think- could be a great winfall for him if it sells. Mine was loaded to the teeth and didnt fetch 25 k but higher mileage but newer parts - i did get 26 k out of her by taking the rare parts off and selling the car with recaro and a few nice other grubbings - still annoyed I had to spilt her up to be honest but the market will tell you what its worth if it sells or not. https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/sa081-lot-19094-1996-vw-corrado-vr6-vsr Im much happier I have transferred the capital into my new car as im not going to get shafted by the insurance company if she ever was involved in theft or an accident- i really dont believe these agreed valuations are worth the paper they write on and also the agreed form is just annoying every year to fill out- I dont have to bother with an agreed on my new car thank god!
  22. Spotted Harrys Garage 39.38 silver vsr corrado silverstone auction. No mention unfortunately
  23. Yes mate he does good price as well - he did my Mk2 and vr6 - he also fixed my old immobiliser on the g60 - probs looking at at sub £300 all in - has the coolest alarm poster advertisements in his reception that he got over the years too / ive tried to buy a few of them off him for some garage art ha !
