Hey I would be interested in this. Could you post a pic of the kit so that we have a rough idea of what we are getting. How easy is it to install? -
Y put a cage in the car. What for? It just makes the car more dangerous to drive with out a helmet. G

When VAG moved to hydraulic tappets they spec'ed a NRV for all the oil filters. G

Can I just clear something up. synthetic oil does not have to be thinner than mineral oil. The viscosity of the oil is given by the numbers on it. I.e. a 15w50 (fully syn) is a very thick oil. every time I seem to look at an oil discussion I see some one say that synthetic oil is thinner than mineral oil. that is just not the case. A synthetic oil's main difference to a mineral oil is the oil film will take a bit longer to break down. That is why you want to use a mineral oil to run a car in. G

If you are going to use the screwdriver thru the filter method remember to warm the car up a bit before making the hole. I had to use this method on mine a while back. Good luck

Nick_Micouris, Does your car crank loads before starting and then you get the fuel smell???? G
-
yeah also get the smell of fuel on startup. It only happens when it is cold. Ie first start of the day. I was going to say it was bad fuel because both me and my dad filled up at the same filling station and his TT is now giving him the same problem. He then filled up at a different station and it was fine again. but if so may of you have had this problem for so long then it cant be the fuel ( i dont think). Still dont have any ideas tho.
-
I would have said it is the pump. but as it will start fine when it is warm i dont think it is. I checked my cold start injector but it is not blocked. it is odd. G
-
I have EXACTLY the same problem. Pls let me know if you solve it. G
-
That is what i was thinking. Will try some injector cleaner and maybe pull it off and have a look. Thanks G

My 1.8 16v has recently started taking a very long time to start when cold. It takes about 15 sec of cranking before it will start. However when warm it stars fine (within a few seconds). Any Idea what could cause that. once it is started the car runs fine. Thanks G

What was the original size of the tires on the 1.8 16v??? (1990) The corrado club site says 195 55 15 but the spare in my car which I think is still original is a 185 55 15. What is the best size to go for? If 185 was the original then will the 195 put the speedo reading out by a lot????? Cheers G
