I was just going to say the exact same thing. :)

ok cool Will have a look tomorrow. thanks.

Does anyone know what the range of resistances is for a 1.8 16v fuel sender unit. G
-
It has always worked for me. It is great stuff. A mate of mine had an Ipod that was very very scratched. he brasso'ed it and it looked like new.
-
What sort of signal does the sender put out? it is just high resistance when no fuel and low when full? Also is the sender unit easy to get at? G

I trust you will try and work a discount in for anyone who is a CF member :) G

yep dinkus is rite. It indicates that there is only a 15 deg angle tween the cyl banks. I was living in Germany at the time of the VR6 boom ( if you could call it that). It might also interest you that the W12 was conceived as 2 VR6's next to each other. i.e. it is not a true W. It is also the shortest 12 cyl engine in production. G

Now I am a bit confused. if the brakes are self adjusting would they not adjust on the fist few pushes of the pedal. If this is the case then would you still need the winding tool? Thanks G
-
Do they make new internals for the chargers???? If the spining bit inside broke, the engine would ingest the charger and well you would probably write off the whole engine. G
-
Tell they you want to build a race car out of it. for something like the VW cup. Most of the cars in that are ex write offs. Might work good luck G

Louie Lungbubble, No issues :D just think it is cool. BTW it is your IP. G

I have heard bad things about AA inspection. This guy was selling his evo 7 the buyer has an AA inspection done on the car and came back saying it was fine. guy bought the car and discovered that it had be crashed and it was a jap import. I would say that it is a waste of cash. The buyers guide on here is very good. Good luck with getting a C. It is the best fun you can have with your pants on :) G

Yeah it is low oil pressure. As said above. This happened to me about 1 month after I got my C. It turned out that the dipstick tube had the top broken off and so I was getting a false reading on the dip stick. It turned out that the car only had about 2 lites of oil in it ( It is meant to have 4) I am sure glad I took my dads car round Silverstone and not the C:) Now I only feed my car the best oil and it is topped up regularly :). as good as the show is I still think that Jeremy is a plonker. from what I have heard he is not a very good driver. he picked up a new car ( I think it was the last series) up north and drove it back to the studio to do the test on it. he drove the whole way back with the handbrake on and then when the brakes were not as good as the claim he said it was a shit car. cant remember what car it was but have heard this from a few ppl in the industry. he also distoryed that wonderful LeMans jag. that was a bit of motoring history and he was just disrespectfully. just my 2p worth

I have had a clicking coming from the instrument cluster for a while now so decided to have a look and see what it is. after some experimentation I came to the conclusion that it is this bit. when you remove the vac line the clicking stops. the click varys with RPM. IT is driving me mad. are these bits servicable? can I buy a new one? any ideas G Car is 1.8 16v
-
Are there still any bits of it for sale? G
-
RobyD, did you do the conversion to g60 brakes yourself? are the brakes any better? G
-
A mate of mine had a harnes in his car ( silly boy racer style car) and I know he removed the std seatbelt and it passed its MOT. should be ok as long as it is safe :)
-
Nope not mine :( I wish it was tho ( I am only 20) :) Have driven it tho. It just keeps pulling. I was going along at what I thought was about 60 (was actualy 100) and I floored it and it shoved me into the back of the seat and pulled like I was pulling off. They have a very flat torque curve. :) chrishill, The paint is not to bad. bonnet and roof are fading a bit. I know a guy who says he can fix it tho with out having to respray it. G

Hey I thought it was about time I got round to posting some pic's of my car. pic's are from when I bought the car. Tis bog standard except for a horrible gear nob. (soon to be changed). I have since buying her replaced the ball joints and done some other bits and bobs. Had 79K on the clock when I got her. Body is in good nic. bit of rust under the battery. has black cloth interior all in good condition except for the seat bolster :) I fear the door handles are going to be going soon but will wait and see. As it is my first car the insurance company is killing (I am only 20) Will post some more pic's when I get round to taking them.

hey thanks for that. will look into it. G
