  1. Very sorry to hear about your car Andy, those pictures are really painful to look at, it was a fantastic example- I was inspired to get a silver VR from seeing this one the forum a few years back. Dinkus now has my C, as I was doing too many miles in it. I am still hankering after another C [if I can get a garage with the new house the wife better watch out], even after almost two years . Sure you will miss it.
  2. Lovely Storm! Have you got a pic of the merc? And anymore pics of the storm - interior etc. I live in Oxford too - will have to look out for you, are you north, south, east.... I know there is a mystic storm in Headington that I have had my eye on. If you ever decide to sell, please let me know I am probably just round the corner - this would tempt me back to rado ownership (so please PM me if you decide to sell it)! If I buy another C it will have to be a storm (got a polo now for a daily commute too). I recon you should keep it though, such a rare car in with this mileage - you will really regret it. I really regret selling mine (just the cost of running the thing was a nightmare, but I have a short memory). I also drive my girlfriend mad pining after C's everytime I see one. My friend who has a C came down to my surprise 30th party on Saturday and borrowed his mates diesel because he knew that I would be able to sniff out a C in a 5 mile radius and know something was up. Look forward to seeing more pics!
  3. Yep that is she! Maybe not so rare after all - just that I have not seen one since - wonder how many they made?
  4. Saw a mint Porsche 914 on the streets of Paris a month ago - never seen one in the flesh and it actually looked quite nice. A couple of months back also spotted a De Tomaso Pantera in London- pretty rare super car beast too! Rarest car prior to that that sticks in memory is a offroad lambo I think it was called the LM002 - unbelievably ugly - can't believe they signed it off for production. Saw it back in the 80's!
  5. Very nice - that looks really good, brings the C right up to date! IMO would be better without the eyebrow though?

    Storm

Wow, I wish I had a garage :( I would be scared to leave that out in the open... Definately worth at least £8k!

    Storm

What a beaut! Would love to see more pictures of this!!
  8. Corrado's not affected by new tax bands as registered before 2001 - just a £5 increase on normal road tax.
  9. Yep agree on the above re: grill. Always wondered how those lights would look on the silver C and I think they are awesome - much better than I imagined really suit the silver C! Nice silver C!!
  10. From the thread title I thought you had lost your job or something!
  11. Friend just got back from South Africa - he spotted a Corrado in George (near Knysna). Anybody on here? Must be the only corrado in SA.
  12. LOL - I was going to mention that was just scrolling down the thread... that was a seriously nerve racking experience having the Haywire scrutinise the C! Glad it passed the test of tests though (Haywire and VAG-COM). Although the Haywire had seen it a couple of months previously when I bought the wheels and kindly spotted a couple of errors on VC which were then remedied before the sale, so wasn't too bad in the end. I just sold my golf and had a VW mech come and check it out - that didn't do my blood pressure any good either. The cars I sell somehow seem to attract the experts!
  13. First pic is awesome, loving those wheels!
  14. Sorry to hear that, I live in Oxford too and the amount of stupid people that go all the way round the round abouts in the outside lane is unbelievable. I almost see evidence of an accident every day on that ring road! Surprised they haven't done anything about it - I think more traffic lights are required. I found it safer to drive in London to be honest! Friend of mine has been hit twice in 6 months at the Botley interchange - once with his pregnant partner in the passenger seat. Best of luck, hope you get it sorted out! How does that guys sleep at night, what a loser!
  15. There is currently a metallic red 16 valver (k-reg) parked in the Oxford Science Park. Anyone here - looks totally original and in very nice condition.
  16. .. I got a £450 refund on my insurance when I traded the C for a 1.4 golf. LOL. Then I moved from London to Oxford and got another £120 refund!
  17. Me too! That is now high on my lists of wants. I recently sold the C to Dinkus due to too many miles etc. So in a serious cost cutting mission (no point doing things by halves) I plumbed for a 1.4 mk 4 golf (45mpg)... I know seriously underpowered. So was thinking the next car would be along the lines of Jim's T diesel.... but that 1.4 twin charged beast looks awesome! Scratch out diesel, that is on my next christmas list!!! (Still hankering after another C - once I reduce my daily mileage.. and insurance)
  18. Ref: K-platers it seems to be mainly the VR6's that are k plates for some reason. The only other VR6 that I have seen in Satin outside of this bracket was an M reg, so I still recon VR's in satin are pretty rare!
  19. Re: the door switch - unscrew the switch and you will notice that one of the wires is missing that connects to the switch - just use a wire hook and dig it out from behind the panel it is hanging down behind it. The switch works as I tested the connection recently - I think it just needs a good clean up or something. I was in the middle of sorting it out a couple of weeks ago, but it got dark... then not long after I sold the car and forgot to finish it off. Hope that makes sense? Nice! Saw your thread on the new H&Rs, wishbone and bushes ... car is coming on very nicely and it is brilliant to see it being finshed off to such a high standard. Great to know it has gone to such a good home!
  20. Hey Dinkus, if you are going to get the alarm checked out, it may be worth getting the extra wire installed that switches the interior light on when you press the alarm fob. Apparently this is a feature of this alarm and for some reason it was not installed on your car, I had this in the back of my mind to get done some time as thought it would be useful... Yep, hated the bleep bleep noise and the auto arm feature too, good luck getting it sorted out
  21. Best of luck with it Dinkus. Glad it has gone to a very good home. Very :(. But damn those recaro's look good in there 8) FYI: Wheel details German ATS/WSL Type M's, 7x16 ET38 Apparently, accoring to Kev, they were a VW dealer option at some point.
  22. chrishill, amazing pictures of those silver C's at the festival (already downloaded to PC). I have been really busy at work recently and missed out on the build up to the fest on the forum, would have liked to have made it to add another silver C to the line up and to check out your cars! Dinkus, unfortunately changing circumstances may mean that I might have to sell my C in the coming months. So if you are after a silver one I could have one for you- depends on the spec you are looking for. Currently weighing up the decision to get a diesel as I am doing lots of miles at the mo and want to reduce my outgoings. It will be a sad day! jhanlon, you pay for what you get, looks like it was worth paying out the extra money to get a good one. Silver with leather is really rare! Has it got a/c too? Any plans for it or are you going to leave it as is?
  23. There seems to be quite a few silver c's appearing recently, maybe not that rare afterall. Most of the ones I've seen have been early K reg's, so its nice to see a late version. Looks like a beaut! What sort of money and what mileage for such a nice example? Re: oil, stick to VW synta silver (quantum) that was recommended for the VR seems to run much smoother than magnatec etc.
  24. More pics from work car park, any opinion on wheels? Cheers,
  25. Cheers for the comments Kev, I have this pic from my phone as well.
