  1. 7 months down the line and here is whats new: New wheels from Haywire. Dealings in a tesco's car park somewhere in Cambridge - see pic. We swapped my 6 speedlines in part exhange for Kev's 16" ATS/WSLs w/ Bridgestone Potensas. Thanks to Kev for swapping them over and VAG COMing the car! Very pleased with the wheels, will be interested in comments. New lupo wipers front and rear Dent removal Full prof. interior valet incl. headlining New drivers side seat bolster Returned the catalyst to the car Rear suspension adjustment (level now) Brand new headlights, loom and Osram silver stars First aid kit and rubber mats from Dinkus, plus some OE mats from VW Plus a warning triangle New Fk grill ... and a recent mid year service, oil and filters etc. I think that's it bar the usual maintenance, replacement parts etc. Will try and get some better pics when I get a chance. 2nd pic in tesco's car park, kevs, my car and loads of wheels.
  2. Very nice, car looks awesome on those wheels!
  3. I can't imagine how much you must have spent on it, looks like a top quality job too. Why do you have to sell it, looks like you have a car that is just how you want it. Those door cards look awesome btw. Will be interesting to see the spec. although I imagine it would take days to compose! Would it be worth selling the ice off separately if you came to sell the car? Good luck with it.
  4. Nice, I like G60's in their original guise, esp. with those BBS'. Also think that that pearl green is the best green colour they did. Very nice! Looks really clean and well looked after from the pics. What are your plans for it? Keeping it OE or a few mods in the pipeline?

    288 brakes?

Hi does the VR6 golf from 1993 have the 288mm brake set up? And just to confirm they are narrower than the C VRs carriers. Many thanks

    Magnex exhaust

No problems with the magnex so far. Fits great, , quality's great, looks great, sounds great what more do you need from an ss ex. I paid, I think, £315 incl vat and del. from Scarbro racing. Good luck.
  7. Yeah sounds a bit to pricey. If you go for a magnex, just buy it from scarbro racing and get somebody else to fit it - I got mine fitted for about £50 if I remember and it was done to a very high std, I watched him do it. I swapped from a powerflow, was a bit too loud and in your face for my liking and the materials used for its construction were a bit dubious - the stainless steel of the boxes was of low quality (definately not 304 grade), I won't even mention the connecting pipework. But the powerflow is more customisable, you can specify how loud you want it etc. The main thing is to get what ever system you get fitted properly! It will cause no end of headaches if it is a bodge job.
  8. BTW it is a 6X4 oval exit.
  9. try these guys: http://www.scarbro-racing.co.uk/magnexv Got it for about £300 and postage was only about £9. No regrets at all, sounds nice and subtly sporty! Your labour quote sounds a bit steep too. Here is a pic of mine with magnex, its a good fit and seems pretty well constructed.
  10. I've always loved Alfa's too and had the lucky opportunity to choose a company car a while back, went for the Alfa straight away (would never buy one myself, but if the company has the responsibility...). Had a black 147 with red momo leather seats, was a beaut, and nothing much went wrong with it in the time I had it, only very minor electrical stuff, seemed really well put together too, maybe Alfa are getting their act together? Would love to have an alfa again some day, always been tempted by the 3.0 V6 GTV. GTA would be awesome though, especially if autodelta got their hands on it!
  11. :( what a waste! I love the back end of that car, pitty they are all owned by fiat :( .... andy665, you know your alfa's - you owned one/wish to own one/admire them but wouldn't own one yourself due to reliability issues?
  12. Alfa really do know how to design cars, I do hope this makes it to production (unchanged)if fiat will let them- the Alfa Romeo 8c competizione. Probably the nicest looking car I have seen for years! Wonder how much it would cost if it did?
  13. They still go about 20k, seen a few in autotrader over the months, very rare so I cant imagine it would depreciate that much.
  14. I like, prefer this to the TT and the Mazda RX. They look awesome in black as well. Japanese reliability and enough power to keep most happy too. Not keen on the soft top version though.
  15. This whole thing seems quite depressing. Locking this thread up sounds good. Im am happy with both the C forum and CCGB and will continue to support both... got 10% off from my local VAG with my CCGB card this morning (first time at Finchley Road VAG) :D BTW: anybody here have any back issues of the sprinter kicking around that they want to sell? I am missing quite a few. I tried the CCGB, bought a few but there were many I couldn't get, thanks.
  16. why did he swap engines over etc and sell the c to you, whats the difference between yours and the other s/silver vr?
  17. Very nice! Was wondering what a silver C would look like without the side strips and looks really good. Look forward to seeing this car develop...
  18. Did a search on independent's site and found this from last year (ten best secondhand cars), nice review on the Corrado... we should start making money soon?!? http://motoring.independent.co.uk/featu ... ory=485053
  19. Yes, please scan it Moneypit/Storm2. I had it in my head that yesterday was monday so forgot to get it-I only get tuesdays edition as it has the car section!
  20. Looking forward to the pics. Yep, the pearlescent s/silver does appear to have a weird tint to it, seems slightly blue on my car, esp. when compared to my mothers silver polo. Must be the lacquer? Sure it adds to the cost of the respray too, hence my question. Has your c had anything done to it before you got it... lowered etc? Any factory options or std?
  21. Sounds really nice. Will be interested to see what you have planned for it, but for now I'm really looking forward to those pics! Sounds similar to mine, which is also a K reg. How much was the respray btw?
  22. found out the same thing recently, a friend has a boxter S. When he has been in to see his dealer for a few things (like broken door handle), they've said that shouldn't have happened and they then fixed it for nothing. It isn't under warranty or anything. Also his servicing was quite cheap (£260), esp. considering its a porsche, but he hasn't had anything major done on it yet... Not done anything to the C this week, been decorating the house. Got a busy weekend planned for the C though, incl. oil change, susp. adj etc etc....

    Audi Coupe

Yep know the one, only worth it if you get a decent sized engine, they are pretty heavy beasts. S2 sounds like the way to go or at least a V6. If you are looking for decent residuals then the convertible is the way to go, they hold their value really well. Handling of the Audi coupe is not a scratch on the corrado though.
  24. Aqua blue VR6 on Albany street, NW1, london this morning at 9am... think the reg was A6 PAD.
