  1. I personally really like the TT front seats but then detest the rears. I would most probably be thinking along the lines of what you can obtain and at what price with the choice of those two as that may well be the deciding factor.
  2. If you take the cover off the cambelt and run the engine up and then give the car some revs from the throttle from under the bonnet you will see how smoothly the belt is going round. My guess from having had a badly timed belt before is that it will be jumping teeth and look like its trying to escape.
  3. But its a Ford...... If its not V.A.G then its not a motor.
  4. Am I correct in saying that they have only gained an extra 13 BHP between the mark IV and mark V as I recall reading the mark IV as 237bhp and markV as 250bhp? Likewise I have been considering my second car a lot lately and until I can pick up a R32 for 15k ish I will be sticking with the Raddo Full Time. (Whilst writing this I thought I would check out AutoTrader Nationwide and you can actually pick up a R32 for 15.5k with very reasonable mileage...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm The only problem with this would be the temptation of ripping the R32 apart to stick into the Raddo.
  5. To be honest Darren the car has a few more issues at the moment in that I know the bushes are well f*cked and the tracking is way out so until I get the bushes all done and then the tracking I cant say just how good it is, but I have noticed quite some difference from how it was before (ofcourse this could just be that the supension is now set at a fairly reasonable ride height). Dusty, I am struggling at the moment as all along I have been envisaging the Bull Dog look with seriously dep rims and fat arches and naturally smooth as a babys bum and low, but now I am beginning to change my mind for sophistification and that class look thus the bbs.
  6. Hate to say this but I quite like the colour apart from the bumper

    GoodWood

    Just a few nice cars in the car park;
  8. Oh you may notice the aerial has now gone, I decided I needed a quick clean car one day and tried to take the aerial off (have done so many times before and nps) but not this time, so I thought ah never mind and then saw it gliding across my windscreen in the carwash....
  9. Ok guys here are some pics of my motor, long overdue Almost all of the work I have done myself over the last year to include; New supercharger from Pitstop after blowing mine up 3 mths in Full Koni-Sport Coilovers Uprated Mounts ALL changed to Vibra-Tech All new sensors Water Pump (boy that was fun to fit) Oz 17" soon to be rid off and BBS Miltek Full exhaust System Brembo Discs soon to be fitted Corner Weighted Clear Indicators New Fan Thats it so far this year and the car is going in on the 28th of November for Wing Bonnet, p/s door respray as someone cut me up on a roundabout
  10. Yeh thx Super, I searched google and found vortex had a useful thread inc fuse box diagram with which fuse straight after i posted so should have updated. Anyone he needs more info search pattern on google = G60 Spoiler Stuck Also provides excellent info on how to change speeds etc
  11. I personally would pay more and get an engine rebuilt VR or at least one that has had ££££'s spent as most people at that stage are just selling up because they have come to the end of their tether (or the Mrs has beaten their Percy purple), one thing to bare in mind with cars that have low mileage is that they may well be low but it could also mean that nothing has ever been changed and with deterioration it might not be long till the ££££'s are required.
  12. I am at the stage now where I need to replace all my bushes (no im not female) and as far as I can see the kit looks like the way to go and Powerflex I have heard to be the superior. Anyone with useful info on the work involved? Running a G60 although I am sure the work involved would be the same.
  13. I dont believe it, as of this morning (no previous problems) mine is now stuck up in the air. Why couldnt it have got stuck down.
  14. Having fitted a Miltek Exhaust system inc Cat Bypass about 6 mths ago I have been extremely happy with the outcome, this is on a '90 G60.
  15. Having done this 2 weeks agao and fitted some FK Konigsports i would just get yaself down to Halfrauds or a decent outlet (not saying Halfrauds isnt ofc). As previously mentioned they are only 20 squid so its not really a massive deal, the kit from Halfrauds fitted after a bit of fiddling on the G60 spring so all good.
  16. To be honest I am worried about u smiling over his excitement Andy, I am just glad you did not accidentally have the tongue hanging out on ya smilie.
  17. Its the olde age question once again.... I currently run 17" on my G60 and to be totally honest I love the look but the drive is as mentioned sometimes suspect, particuarly tram lining in Oxford. At the same time if you ever hit a patch of large water on a MotorWay hold onto your seats (and the steering wheel) and prepare to change your pants afterwards. When this was brought up about a year ago I was advised that the Raddo can run perfectly well on 17's if set-up correctly and I am still not quite at this point as I know my bushes need looking at, and then tracking needs doing although corner weighting has now been done (tbh not much difference). I expect more of a difference once all has been completed

    Head Gasket?

To be honest with you Doug its not quite as easy as saying it should be £***, it could range from a situation such as just changing the head gasket (unlikely) to having the head itself skimmed if it has warped from getting too hot and the pressure escaping. What you need to do is have the engine pressure tested and this may clarify if it is actually the head and then if so move on from there.
  19. Loza, the Storm was only built for the UK market and of which only 500 made in quote me if im wrong colours that were slightly different to that of normal Corrados. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VW_Corrado
  20. I have to totally agree with Jim in that this thing may be quick but I can not see it out pacing the big boys on a track such as the Top Gear circuit, just imagine it on that second to last and last corner, Houston we have lift off.... and its touched down in California
  21. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/mai ... fbug15.xml It sais it all.................. Disclaimer: Apologies if this has alreday been posted due to lazyness whilst working I have not checked
  22. Aye it doesnt look good, not being funny Bal but I woud not try contacting the guy at the moment as he most probably is still in hospital if it was him and it would be a m8 of his who has died and I would not want to talk about it just yet... Both Guys were from Slough and the guy selling that car was from nr Heathrow (thus Slough area) also it mentions that they were both 21 and the guy selling the car was 20/21.
  23. After much calling around I have found this to be a very uncommon thing nowadays.. Apparently it can leave the supension looking pretty unbalanced as they take all weights into consideration and obviously one side is much heavier (petrol tank, my fat ass etc etc)
  24. Right its off to Halfords for me then, damn things wont budge.
