  1. dr_mat, as ben16v, says it was the same at awesome and stealth , both power and torque drop off at 4800 rpm as i said before awesome suggest it could be the aftermarket cat strangling the power at those revs as there could be too much gas trying to escape causing it to bog down , do you think this is possible ? tried 3 mafs new dizzy (hall sender) fuel pressure regulator a different ecu air filter on and off all gave virtually the same result within 2 bhp
  2. dr_mat, it runs perfect above 4800 rpm without the rolling road i would never have known, maybe its been this way since i've had it ? if you drove it you would never know there was a loss i've tried a standard replacement ecu and it ran exactly the same
  3. NickVR6, he mapped the air /fuel and there was nothing that linked it at those revs, you would have seen it drop he said :-( the 4wd RR at awesome was only fitted in february and its the dogs , all the whistles and bells but the car is let down by the prehistoric obd1 lets say obd1 doesnt tell you the wheel nut is loose , it tells you when the wheel has fell off , if that makes sense and iirc the lambda is ignored at wot
  4. NickVR6, nice one cheers nick , £176 i spent at awesome today but at least i know the ecu, dizzy, maf and fuel regulator are all ok

16v, doh !! different numbers same letters , sorry dude  just saw the f***bvv and remembered you saying yours was a press car ! good job i put a pic up
  6. NickVR6, much appreciated mate but i think i may go the decat route , where did you get yours ? they quoted me £80 + vat for a supersprint (disc hasn't arrived yet )
  7. Supercharged, it was rebuilt by awesome 2 years ago, it was a 2.8 block rebored to 2.9, i've got the receipt , i'll check the timing though cheers
  8. Supercharged, maybe mate i'm at loss now but you would think it would hesitate or miss or at least not be exactly the same revs every time ? it will lose power at 4800 rpm in any gear , he ran it in different gears
  9. the rolling road maps the air /fuel and it was perfect , no spikes or sudden drops the guy was at a total loss and really p!$$ed he could'nt find the fault, he remembered the car as he rebuilt the bottom end and fitted the koni's and magnex exhaust i asked about the leads/plugs and he said they were fine and there is no problem elsewhere in the rev range, driving it you can't feel it , it doesn't hesitate, miss ,idle rough - nothing i wouldn't have known if i hadn't had it RR , thats how subtle it is but i know there are horses out there somewhere so i'm not happy 16v, i only noticed the other day that i have a book with loads of pics of your car in it (press car)
  10. ben16v, have a read of the thread mate ( link above) tried loads of stuff :-( door pulls look cool 8)
  11. today i went to awesome gti and had about 20 runs on the rolling road for 3 hours to try and discover why my car hits a wall at 4800 rpm it drives fine but will not reach peak bhp because it tails off at 4800 the things changed which made no difference 3 maf's ecu fuel pressure regulator distributor run with the air filter on and off all maps were identical , the only thing they can suggest now is that its the aftermarket cat strangling the power at 4800 rpm overlayed the map with a 2.8 golf and its up until it gets to 4800 do i get another cat or de cat it ?? cheers paul anyone ever heard of this ? vag com was totally clear
  12. ben16v, nice, where did you get those today i mostly wasted a shed load of cash , i went awesome gti and had about 20 runs on the rolling road for 3 hours which cost £176 ! and still cant find why i'm losing power at 4800 rpm :-( http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 331#380331
  13. if it is the relay , they are £35 +vat from the stealer, doubt its the relay though tbh there will be two relays going into the same holder, just swop them
  14. i would say valve guides or seals allowing oil to drip into the cylinders while its stood , sometimes if stood on tick over for a while it can smoke as you pull away
  15. darren, Yes and no , On a Corrado you can change the toe and camber settings on front and the Caster is not adjustable. The rear of the car is a little different, because of the design you can only use shims to change the way the rear tyres sit

  17. Pffft...they noticed...you cant hit another car without noticing. And as faar as the " would you own up "question goes...yes...I have doen in the past when I knew I would get away with it...what goes around comes around. You reckon? I'll guarantee there are people on the roads that could run over a person and not have the slightest clue what had happened! And as proof to my 'human nature' thing .... well it's true because look at the number of us that get cheesed off with people hitting our cars and buggering off! if you would own up walesy then i'm sorry you are very much in the minority mate, i'm sorry to say as for not noticing , yeah this does happen lots, i've seen pensioners who are hard of hearing and cant turn their heads to look behind them when they reverse , who are totally obloivious to the 5 trolleys they have just ploughed into and are now towing :-)
  18. i know that mate , i just had visions of a red car massacre  shame it was'nt a more obvious colour
  19. thats a good idea , with red being such a rare colour , jeez it would be anarchy and riots if he hit every red motor  just try polishing it out the best you can
  20. atm i think you would struggle to get anything above 2k , probably more likely to achieve £1500 if you could sell it the 2nd hand car market is on its knees and not a lot is selling i've seen your car and this not a reflection of the condition as its very clean but you have to get someone interested to come and look at it which is where the plan falls apart i've seen total bargains not selling :-( sorry mate just saying how i see it .......

kev has dynamatted most of europe and beyond , i'm sure he'll be along soon to give you a precise quantity :-) VR6, yep the haywire scale i've done both doors which made a big difference but if your running a big sub in the boot then more will be needed in there, i've got a vibe sub and the whole boot dances :-( , parcel shelf, numberplate holder etc but its expensive stuff , there is a thread where someone used b&q lagging iirc
