dont forget to put your steering wheel at its lowest to improve access the vacuum hose isnt on the vr6 but i can only guess its for the mpg on the mfa there are only 8 screws to take the dash out on the later dash not too sure about the early one two screws are at the bottom of the black cowl but you need to take the small plastic corners out to see the screws, then there are two in the top of the cowl , remove this and you'll see four screws holding the dash in , undo these lift forward, unplug and lift it out

this should help http://www.oichan.org/mods/lcd/lcd2.htm on mine i just reversed the polarised filter and used a red filter , for the top lights i used three blue led replacement bulbs off ebay

16v, that volvo is a good tool or the diesel escort must be nice to have a car you can just park, instead of thinking "where shall i park " as you circle the car park for the tenth time :-)

its a date ;-) -
Chris, its the same as the other switches, its easy. The awkward ones are the leccy windows, sunroof and the clock, as well as the fan switches being a little time consuming but nothing is majorly difficult. reaper1_3 you need 3mm 12v LEDs he was having problems with soldering to a bulb holder, the switches dont have these, they are easy to do , i've done all mine (the windows are a little tricky thats all) doh ! must read all the thread before replying  the electrics failing on components is quite often due to dry joints as they are getting old now
