yeah 7mm allen key is needed , the brakes are quite simple , have a go mate, if you get stuck you can always post on here :-)
-
octane booster is cheaper , got to admit if it was local i'd have to try some though , about a fivers worth :-)
-
you can put the bearing in by using the old casing
-

2_Door_fun, ah i thought you meant the black bits :-) its the oil in the peanut butter that helps the black bits , as for the other faded yellow bits i would use some scratch x or a light t cut and then polish , i'm sure they'll come back up you say you've had it a week , it'll be all that salt air from the river weaver :-)
-
lookin good mate , i always liked yellow, put some smooth peanut butter on the black bits , nice borbets , i cant remember of hand what fuse the spoiler runs off,
-
come on it is the star , i'm suprised they spelt it right , you can forgive them getting the wrong decade dude i'd get a dna test done :-)
-
Supercharged Junkie, its not too bad they arent pressed in like the fronts , you can tap them in with the old bearing or use a suitable sized socket , one thing you do need is a wind back tool for the rear pistons , some peeps have done it using pliers but you got to be lucky to do it that way tbh, you need to push the piston in and turn it at the same time
-
you can do the rears yourself mate , i've just bought discs ,pads, and bearings for the rear, was going to do just the pads and thought sod it i'll do the lot while i'm there
-
this is going to be fecking awesome when its finished , i take it your going the whole hog and having a full repray ? like it needed it
-
good link mate
-
hi mate , usual price is about £80 - £100 a side depending on the garage labour charges , i'd consider having the ball joints done at the same time (£19.04 each from vag) as they have to take them off with the hub anyway as said above they have to be pressed in unlike the rears so its not really a diy job unless you strip it and take the hub to the garage to have the bearing removed and pressed in
-
mk3 yeti, really like what you've done mate , it looks classy apart from the tints but hey its just my opinion :-) the lights are pretty crap without them wearing sunglasses :-) i like where you're going with it apart from that , just needs a hoover and get some gliptone on those leathers ! they'll feel much nicer and not so shiney :salute:
-
balljoints at vw are £19.04 :-) in case you want to make a price comparison , i found they were similar at gsf ecp , i dont think the wishbones are that dear from the dealer
-
VR broke down and then would not restart, now fixed

good post mate, its nice to get some feedback on a problem, you all too often see post about problems that never conclude :salute: -
no4 for me, the background to the text isnt as buy or distracting imo
-
that is mega steep ! you can take it off and clean and use lubricating paste on the piston but for the work involved i think i would just get another caliper
-
spot on , thats where i would put it, its a better place than the oem one imo, at the rear of the sunroof in the middle , lights the whole car that way
-
not on mine with the supersprint mate , its exactly the same size as the cat so it just replaces it, its easy to fit , i got my local tyre exhaust monkeys to do it for £10 :-)
-
i'm running a supersprint decat with a full magnex system on mine , makes the engine feel perkier and gives a bit more growl ... which is nice and it burbles on the overrun as you decellerate :-)
-
when it does start is it smokey from the exhaust ? does it idle or stall ?
