Audioscape moulded sub enclosure - update 21/02
ANDY16V replied to Kevin Bacon's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
The 2 x 5" sounded OK but didn't have anywhere near the depth or weight as a 10 or 12, but that is what the customer wanted so Audioscape obliged. Yeah the Series III is expensive but if you're into SQ, it's quite an amp! Genesis do a Profile range though which is considerably cheaper, and also smaller. It also has a fan built in so you don't need to remove the parcel shelf speaker as I've had to do to allow the heat to escape through the grill. And erm, sorry there's no update on the box as yet. Audioscape have been mega busy of late and I've been busy returning my car back to stock.....but I'm aiming to get started on it with the next fortnight. Cheers K i think i'm gona have to stick with the 12 on the drivers side and sneek a quality amp in. cheers andy -
Mate of mine just the other day bought a 2 year old 911 with " your no 3's " on it looked absolutley legend with my c sat next to it i could quite imagine it suiting the porsche rims...... by the way he's a builder  anyway..... what was the question again?........ no-3!

Pricey business... yet worth it! i've been following A20LEE's thread and i think he mentioned that he's had 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of paint and 3 coats of lacquer is this the same as oem or over and above and a job like that... how much is that likely to cost?
-
The guy has been recommended ...so i'll probably use him, thanks for the comments. Incidently you were talking about a respray, 1000- 1500 ...and the job only looks good for 2 years??? is that right because thats scarey news

I've got some corrosion on the acute corner just below the passenger side glass quarter, i've treated once and its returned with renewed vigor. the rust spot is the size of a ten pence but to do a proper job the glass will have to be removed and the area around where the window seal is situated will have to be treated... and everything put back( so i'm told) anyway this along with a small dent on drivers side front arch... i have been quoted verbally £350.00, he's going to formally write to me confirming this....the company quoting was recommended which i guess is a good thing, does this sound reasonable? or should i shop around a bit? cheers

I have a 2.0l 16v and i'm keen to get more bhp, i was originally considering the 1.8T conversion, how does the G60 conversion compare, is itr alot cheaper/ easier to do?

Wasn't sure where to put this question? anyway i really neede some help on the best way of getting some original estorils on my c. although there appears to be no shortage of people selling them, i'm slightly worried of geting a bag of nails! as i reckon i'll end up buying them blind i.e sent through the post (which if any one knows a cost for this 4 x wheels if you would let me know much appreciated) i'm well aware they 'll need a refurb but the important thing is that they are straight. can anyone please give me a bit of advice here!!! andy

when i initially bought my c i made myself a speaker shelf and its ok but nothing spesh, so i'm hoping i can by one from somewhere which will be a bit more show standard, has any one got any suggestions? cheers
-
cheers- its on the shopping list 8)
-
i was going to keep my c completely standard, but i'm tempted by this mod- 8) does the gear knob screw directly on to the shaft or is it held in place by fixing lugs? currently i've got a richbrook touring knob which needed half a roll of duck tape to get a snug fit
-
YEP i've asked this question before and someone mentioned that you'd have to trim the existing housing, i'm sure 6 x 4 Lanzar neos were mentioned and fit perfectly..... apparently?? try the search
-
sounds a great idea! i take it you've seen the march edition of performance vw, it had a article on DIY 1.8t conversion. the one in the mag was a golf - perfect sleeper car
-
It must be the skirts giving it an overall look of chunkeeness! i've got to say that i don't normally go for c's which have been modified but your c is definatley one of the best i've seen 8) ...nice
-
 nice looking c, are the wheel arches flared?
-
Saw a smart aqua blue c .... i'm fairly convinced it was a VR6 looked tidy! in lockengate, near St Austell, didn't get any of the registration or a good look at the driver :shocked!: yep .. if there are any takers i was in a black 16 v and we both waved.... corrado ownnership is the best!! cheers

Audioscape moulded sub enclosure - update 21/02
ANDY16V replied to Kevin Bacon's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
He's done the same as me, there's a Genesis 4 channel bolted to the passenger side cavity wall. Tucks under there (just) very neatly! i'm thinking of buying the 5 inch x2sub enclosure how does this compare with a 12 inch sub? i'm currently running a JBL 12 inch GTO sub and its lardy dimensions take up half the boot space! also i like the idea of the 4 chanel amp bolted to passenger side cavity, but the series 3 that you have is a bit steep, is there a cheaper alternative with the same dimensions, i'm thinking 150 ish? also would a cheaper 4 chanel amp cope with the two 5 inch subs and a set of 6 x 9's cheers
