Alright guys!! relatively soon i'm going to try and get my hands on a set of original estorils for my c and get it back to its original state , i'll probably put a wanted advert on the forum for starters but how do guarentee a decent set my worst nightmare would be puting them on my c and finding out that there in worse shape than the ones i have at the mo. also are they easy to get hold of and how much do they sell for? much appreciated andy

about 2 months ago i went to get new tyres, on the third wheel the guy pointed out that it was badly buckled in fact if they could have sold me some decent alloys on the spot i would have bought some. anyway he found the fourth one was also badly buckled, so both buckled wheels went on the rear of the car. this is probably a daft question but would this account for the less than average ride quality? will i be damaging my c in anyway?? cheers

my c hasn't got too many dings and scrapes but they are annoying me and i'm thinkin deal with them now less hassle in the future. basically i've got a dent on o/s front wheel arch and the paint has started to split , also rust bubbles protruding from under a seal on n/s rear window and a couple of dings bellow tailgate. whats the best thing to do? i'm located in cornwall and dont know of any decent body repairers, is there a company called dent master that will do it?? i really need peoples help here cheers

My knowledge is limited about these sorts of things but... i have the same problem, i got a 2l 16v and the front engine mount is knackered my mechanic checked with vw and they want 100.00 and GSF want 37.50 what should i do? could a cheap one have bad effect on things cheers

My front engine mount needs replacing and my mechanic phoned VW and they wanted 104.00 pund each my mechanic mumbled something about them being hydraulic - not sure , anyway i phoned GSF and they wanted 37.50 should i go for GSF, is there a major difference in quality? cheers

Cheers for all the help guys, one other thing- i'm thinkin of giving my c a reet good clean down, especially the underside, is it advisable to do this with a jetwasher and will it be ok to do right up behind the filler cap? is water likley to ingress somewhere? also i'm gona inspect the underside for any cracked underseal, if i find any what do i do- remove the loose stuff and replace with the same or something different? thanks Andy :thumbleft:

Just unblocked the drainhose- and all the water slowly disapeared thru the hole in the bottom of the rubber surround, but i noticed another hole in the rubber surround on the left what does this drain then?

Yep makes sense as there was a small puddle of water in there- can't keep these unwanted hitchhikers? :roll: cheers

I've been cleaning my car today, got to the wheel arches and found caked on dirt right upto the underside of the fuel cap, it seemed like a skip full :oops: only to reveal a drain hose, looked in the bentley manual and it lists one behind the bumper which you have to remove to gain access which is supposed to lead from the sunroof is this the one i've found? incidently it was jammed with about an inch of dirt which i removed , do these drain hoses work ? thanks in advance guys!!

Passed my MOT and chuffed to bits but there were two advisory comments: - some cracking on o/s drive shaft outer gator - some corrosion on fuel pipe by fuel pump Are these serious? can i deal with them easily or should i get a mechanic to do it?? :) cheers guys

Someone did try to halfinch mine once as they had pull one side and started to loosen it, I obviously got back to the car in the nick of time! :mad: Ive got the Autohaus Wolfsburg Hotz und Heitman ones on the S3 at the mo. And before anyone says anything theyve been passed down the generations of german metal ive owned and as the Campaign has the orignal Stealer plates they got donated to the Audi evn though theyre not strictly true I like em. :D I was thinkin more the whole german animosity thing... does anyone remember a german/england football match years ago , not sure whether it was world cup or what but a VW(or audi) got trashed after the game cos it was german....harsh! :roll:

I think you mis-heard them mate - the gaitors are £35 and the knobs are £15, with discount both can be had for less than £50 inc. :shock: Seriously if that was the case i would have snapped his arm off!! i remember because he brought it up on his computer screen synthetic gaitor was 80 something quid and leather 135, are you talkin about a leather one and please could you give me your dealers number!!!

some questions on here i've been meaning to ask for a long time!!! i have been considering which wheels to buy for over 6 months now and just cant make up my mind :? one day i'm thinking go for 17 inch BK 299's, the next i'm set on tryin to find some clasic BBS alloys. what i'm lookin for in a set of wheels is: relatively lightweight, not too expensive, a wheel which holds a certain amount of credability and would have decent show potential, i was thinkin something like OZ i take it they are slightley more expensive for a good reason. i know this is personnel taste but i could do with some help, a nudge in the right direction! cheers

I basically need a new gaitor and gear knob- both badly worn, i checked the stealers out and they want 135 squid for a new gaitor :shock: and 50 pund for a new gear knob!! i've heard somewhere a company GSF or something similiar do them cheaper, is this true and if so do they match up well to the genuine items???? cheers guys :)

When you "prise" the mirror glass out you wanna make sure you do at the top and the bottom. not side to side. i'll be replaciong mine soon i'm gona try a shatterproof ruler for a bit more purchase. :)

I'm considering this aswell at the mo: as you look at the boot space the rear seats are set at an angle you could make a right angled void at the back of the seats accessible from the rear of the car by folding down the seat. just got to be careful that it is adaquetly vented.
