Alright Mick where abouts in sunderland you from mate? Havent managed to see you about yet! Thought people would be saying they have seen me but would be you cause of the wheels bud. Bugger was going to add a pic of mine on them wheels but cant find one! -
Put 205 45s on mine to try and be safe, bought hancocks v12 cause they were much cheaper than proxys. The tread looks nice and they were easy to stretch apparently. Haven't tested in the wet but in the dry seemed to hold well when first put them on. Heres a pic of the rear hope this helps a bit

Cheers bud gonna order a standard mount tomorrow and hopefully fitted monday, just glad I have fixed the caddy to take the duties of daily till then. Thanks again for the info :thumb right:
-
Ok bud thanks! did you put standard new one on your refurbished subframe?
-
Picture doesn't look like it has worked, how do you attach them?
-
Sorry very vague. There is the bracket that goes from the gearbox towards the rear of the car then seems to be attached by one bolt to what I can only think it the the gearbox carrier. It is that single nut that seems to have gone. The mount on the engine side (next to the downpipe and the front looks fine apart from assuming taking extra stress). If this pic has attached its the bolt in the centre of the picture. Sorry about poor quality my camera aint very good. Thansk Chris

Hi all, it seems like the gearbox engine mount has sheared. The engine can be pushed down on the drivers side with no resistance from that particular mount. If the bolt has snapped I would assume a new mount is required? And if so, would it be best to stick to standard or upgrade? All opinions would be greatful thanks

Defo recommend doing yourself, as previously said take your time and bit fiddly in places (defo them 2 bolts for the dash with my fatt fingers) but you would certainly fell a great deal of satisfaction from it. :D Best of luck mate

Give you a couple of weeks driving and you'll be hooked. Bought my first one 8 years ago to make the 500 mile journey to sort my mk1 cab out ride a bit smoother than my mk1 16v that sounded like a tank. after the journey couldnt hear for at least an hour. the rado was such a nice change and wouldnt change it, apart from perhaps more power next year :norty:

By heck mate you got some store of wheels there. Still prefer the comps to the others but think thats just me mine is the same colour and to many shiny things seem quite strange.
-
Looks very tidy mate whats your plans then?
-
Just had my arches done, to accomodate 9s by 16 unfortunately have not got the wheels back yet so cant update till then.
-
Defo with you on that one jim, after a hard grafting job nice to just sit and flare pipe! Found best to do a couple of trial ones firstto make sure I was doing it right Defo worth a try I enjoy doing all mine, used a really old tool given to me from my dad, pretty heavy thing made by sykes-pickavant ltd No. 230 need a vice with it, but managed to do one on my mates caddy will on the car.

Heres some pics sorry for the poor quality

It had original paintwork, the front drivers was rusty the wing has slightly split, it seems inevitable that the paint will flake the rears that had good paint need some touching up. However did plan a respray this year anyway cause when bought the car there are stone chips all over front and car park dings in the drivers door.

I'll take some pics today and get them posted tonight
