im with you all the way VR6Storm -i'd try my best to keep the G60, and buy myself a nice little escort Cosworth to grace the driveway 8)

verynice bumholders mate - look good in grey or black - but then the backs would need to be trimmed to match, so grey to keep costs down! 8)

Darren, is that the sort of power you could expect from a 16v G60 then? or is that with mods after the conversion as well?

8VG60 - bought a strut brace off him - arrived quickly, as described - totally happy, would/will defo buy off Darren again - congrats dude!! you'll be a 'general' soon with all them stars!! :D 8)

some have - all great reviews!! those that havent wish they had!! .unfortunately PD Motorsport have ceased trading,and john and darren have parted company. John is still undertaking charger servicing i believe, just not trading as PD Motorsport anymore. They are both on the forum anyway, John(16VG60) and Darren (8VG60) there is a thread in the announcements section relating to this. give em a call 8)

bournemouth james said he had seen a tint removal spray - has anyone else heard about this? In the event it needs to be taken off , this would probably be a cheaper option than buying a new set? any ideas? 8)

Does anybody know the score with regards to tail light tint and MOTs? I havent had to have my C MOT'd since i bought it, but its due in a few weeks. I bought the car with the top half of the light cluster (yellow indicator bit) tinted. whoever done it made a decent job of it and left the reversing lights as they were. Im just wondering if it will go through the MOT ok with the tint on? You can see the indicators flashing through the tint. anybody know :?:

I wasnt planning on changing my charger, just wondered if they are 'upgradeable' so to speak. On turbo'd cars you can swap a T3 for a T4 etc etc and create different boost and engine characteristics (as im sure we all know) - just wondered really if this was the case with superchargers as well - but i doesnt sound like its as straightfoward as a turbo swap cheers for advice :D

Just wondering, are there any aftermarket superchargers that can be used in place of the original? for instance, u can bolt on a Vortech supercharger to a VR6 - can u use the same vortech charger on a G60? are there any power gains from such a product? :?:

I understand where you are coming from here mate - find myself wondering the same quite often! As a car buyer, it certainly makes the car more appealing if it has service history, as to whether or not it needs to be VWSH is another thing! Personally, so long as i can see the car has been looked after, be it by the local garage down the road or the big company up the M6, i dont really care!! So long as its been looked after!! More often than not, the smaller specialist companys will care for someones pride and joy more carefully than the big money spinning dealerships, cos that is there business, as oppose to dealers who are really just trying to make a profit at all costs! so, personally i dont think that a VWSH would be a pivotal point in whether or not i bought a car! I, like you, do most of the minor bits of vehicle maintenance and leave the rest to those that are in the know, and i certainly wouldnt say that my car is worth any less as a result!! just my 2p's worth. hope this helps :D

i sold this to a guy from bermondsey last year. just wondered if he was on this board or not , cant remember his name - thought i would enquire as to how the old girl is doing? she is a white G60 with new 16" milia wheels and only had about 200 miles on a new charger when i sold her. anyone seen her about?

they can turn them around in a day ( thats if they work non stop) but its usually a couple of days for them to get the thing off, service, port, put it back on car and test. It also depends on the amount of porting they have to do to the charger. If your having it chipped and the 3.5 fpr on aswell it may take a bit longer. Im gonna go for the same set up as you in a couple of months, but i think im gonna go for the maximum porting available (Jabba R1 equivalent) 8)

....also.... pitstop developments will port the charger to Jabbas R1 equivalent for the price of their stage4!!! cant be bad!!! 8)

wont be a problem running a stage 4 with normal set up on the rest of the car - it would be a problem if you were to chip it with just the standard charger - but you wont have probs the other way round. who are you getting your charger rebuilt by? Jabba? I had mine rebuilt there last year, but i think im gonna give pitstop developments or PD the job with my new G60 as ive heard encouraging things about both of them - but as you say mate, its all big $$$$$$ so it all gets done bit by bit!!! 8)
