me and my gf went to london to do xmas shopping a couple of years ago. got to the hotel late, and parked my car pretty much outside the door, on the road. i aimed to get down before 8 and put a ticket on it. woke up at 10:30 raced down to find my car covered in stickers and a clamp on it. cost me 130 quid that did. when i called to have it removed they said they would be there within four hours. i had to put 4 hours of parking on it, to be on the safe side (at FOUR POUNDS an hour). they said if i didnt put a ticket on it, even though it was clamped, it would be impounded within half an hour.

my record for my mk1 8v was 50 mins from opening the garage doors to having the gearbox in my hand. one night i started at 10 o clock, got the new clutch on and all together by 1 o clock, only to find that the long push rod was on the floor next to me. i wanted to cry.

i think it clips on i recall having to cable tie mine on, when the clips broke. you'll see when you come to do it.
-
careful not to "ox" the bolts too tight though. you'll crack it!

security is good with one of them cars. you can just pick it up and drop it over your garden fence, and hide it out the way.

it comes seperately. i bought one, thinking that was the problem, but changed the rad instead. i still have that angle. i think that is just the easiest place where it can leak actually, come to think about it, i think it may have been the head gasket leaking that was pressurising everything, making that angle leak (i think i recall my rad leaking too). i had the head gasket done soon after. so it may not be the rad, *just* the head gasket. for the record, i had no water in oil or anything like that. just crazy coolant loss, and lots of little leaks (with the pressure). eventually it was running on 5 cylinders, so i got it changed. 430 quid it cost to have it changed. sorry mate. it goes from bad to worse dont it.

more of a race car than a hairdressers car!!! it looks like fun. you'd be mr scoops in that

i had a 1600 mk1 golf with a big throttle off some kind of audi (i believe) it turned the car into a crazy rocket, along with a funky head / cam. that valver is impressive stuff mate.

fast car but this thread just blew the speakers on my pc still, at least everyone in the office is looking at me now :(
-
that bit constantly leaked on my vr6. i sealed and resealed that angled bit but to no avail. until one day i changed the radiator and it was all ok again. oh and the radiator doesnt exactly fly off either . . .

neeeeeh i dont know about them. i like the sound of the lit up washer jets though ;)

i once fitted an "x pack" to my mk2 escort. and painted the car red white and blue (valvoline colours). my mark2 escort buddies hated it. but i loved it. they said i "spoiled the lines" or some crap like that. i dont like that corrado's bodykit. but i can understand that the guy that owns it does, and probably spends hours admiring it.
-
any better than OE aftermarket leads that can be recommended? i'll have a look at gsf for the coil pack, nice one
-
my long running misfire problems have been narrowed down. the lambda is fine, the exhaust gases all ok, the airflow meter is ok its either the coil pack, or simply the leads!! last night i found the one was arcing every minute or so is the coil pack expensive?
-
gawd struth that is nasty reminds me of the "street fighter" look i see in fast car magazine. if you want a car that looks like that, you dont want a corrado. the skirts are super nasty. but would probably make a mk4 escort look nicer its a nice shiny car though. if the guy who owns it likes the kit, then fair play. i hope its easy to remove. the corrado doesnt need a bodykit. its a beautiful shape as it is. "mod" the body with wax and polish.

that turbo sure has some girth.
-
i'd buy them from vw. they are kinda molded into a shape (i think) but maybe you could make some? see how much they are new first though. just try the pipe clips first. and yes observe all fire safety rules!!!!! keep a brace of rags handy too to mop up your mess
-
yep the springy bit goes inwards!
