Ladies and Gents I'm really sorry.... (now with photos)
stevemac replied to TomB's topic in General Car Chat
Just seen the photos - no chance of a rebuild then Tom ?? -
Nice one Andi, at current pace mine will take another 10 years to reach that
-
Metallic Black - like mine is very rare - I know of only 1 other !! 8) I'm not sure of the availability of it was & what models it was available for tho
-
You can buy ready-made "stealth" shelves if you don't fancy making your own
-
You gonna show them to us then Sandy ??
-
No worries m8  You really do need a good solid base to mount these speakers into - the MDF shelf took me around 2.5 hrs from start to finish, including a MDF boot floor to mount my amplifiers to.
-
It's only available through VW - we import it & many other items from VW somewhere in Europe. Not sure if we sell it any cheaper than the stealers though :? Not sure of the exact grade, although I could find out. It's made by Shell, specifically formulated for VW & it's a different blend than any of the other stuff that Shell sell (Helix, etc).

Errrr - yeah  I have a custom made MDF shelf - the speaker magnets are way too heavy for the standard shelf to support 8)
-

-
Very likely to be valve oil seals which have gone brittle with age - mine need replacing as well :(
-
I'll second that 8) & I don't get any extra discount at all :(
-
Mine's "Brilliant Black Metallic" code - L 0A9 V02
-
At the end of the day, it's your car & up to you what oil you put in. VW (who I used to work for) reccommend Synta Silver & so far as I know only Synta Silver !! dazzyvr6 if your local dealer have been using Helix in your car & when now using Synta Silver, the car burns oil. I would say that is proof that Helix is the wrong oil to use - it has obvoiusly worn your engine.
-
We have a new batch due in stock soon (different supplier) - not sure of the exact design until they arrive though
-
CoxyLaad, if you've had no requirement for ABS in the past, you've been lucky !! Only times that ABS is a major disadvantage is in the snow or on mud - car with ABS will not stop on these surfaces :x Ideally - switchable ABS is the way to go, as available on some off-road vehicles.
-
Fantastic speakers - I've got VIBE component front speakers & VIBE 6x9's in the back. Sound great 8)
-
No hassle at all - just 4 screws on each light  Mine's been through 2 MOT's without a problem & my rear lights are completely black 8)
-
hummm from the rear could also be a rear wheel bearing - does the noise change slightly depending on road speed ?? Check your power steering belt for wear & check the steering fluid level.
-
Your car use water as well ??
-
If they list the same spring for all Corrados, the 16v's will sit way too high :?
-
LOL, no mate its the 30th today, it must have 31 on it unless it ran out in June  or 30th September (like mine :( )
-
Somebody will have been sent an automatic fine though  The fine will have been sent to the last known owner/address on the registration document, unless the "SORN" was sent in to the DVLA.
-
TRW is the manufacturer of the steering rack.
-
Ain't saying how much I paid for mine  Tattie - the one on the side of the head is a real barsteward to fit - the solid water pipes pin it to the engine. Be sure to clean up the surface of the head before fitting the new one. We sell all the bits that you need to do both of the housings & genuine VW G12+ coolant too.
