PhatVR6, Thanks for that. I guess the top mounts are getting on a bit and that will have something to do with it too. Still the original suspension. -
Hi Just returned from Elite in Essex, nice place. They told me that my Caster was out on the right wheel and that it could not be adjusted... The value before their alignment is actually different to the final one, which makes me think it was adjusted..... Is it really true that you cant adjust it from the right?? Cheers Nick

Nice one Kev, thanks - will do! Its one thing after another, eh!?

lol so nothimng to worry about then? or should I be bothered. Only does it for a short while when cold.
-
yeah seems to from around there/alternator. Could the alternator be straining due to the batt being low? Cheers Nick

Hello all Am getting a whistling noise when I start my car. Sometimes this is when the car is cold or hasnt been used much. Today the car was a little hard to start (seemed as the batt was nearly flat) and it was whistling for a while. Ideas anyone?? Cheers Nick

Brian - so your head unit was not working until you changed the ignition switch? Will change the bulbs and see if that makes a difference.
-
Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the head unit power, ground etc? I want to know which wire is switched power and if it is related to the cigarette lighter lighting and lighbulb in the ashtray as none of these work. I managed to short the head unit's switched power supply which blew fuse 22 - changed this and now I can't get switched power to the H/U or the ashtray and lighter illumination. The cig lighter still heats up though! Any ideas? Cheers! Nick

Anyone know which fuse./relay controls the switched live for the head unit and also the light for the ashtray and lighter?

Hi mate Its all sorted - Majik very kindly spent the evening with me sorting out the prob. The s/r motors contacts had all dried up. We fitted a motor from his second hand C and it has cured the problem perfectly. Seems like dry solder on the circuit board or something. Alarm has been fine for over a year and its all fine again. Was just the roof motor that died! Cheers for the help! :) Nick

cheers for that! well - the car is full UK spec but had an inhibitor wire cute by the installer (no idea which one) to enable the anti car jack feature after 10 secs of ignition. This works fine. Only ocassionally will it not open the doors on turning off the ignition ( v strange) When I say no illumination on the sunroof switch I mean that the green illumination on the switch itself is sometimes not present (especially when the roof relay does not click). Just to let you know, all door skins and the roof lining were recently removed. The alarm system is the Toad Ai606 Any more ideas? thanks! Nick ps total closure will work with the roof but ONLY when the sunroof relay is clicking. Is the sunroof relay built in to the motor itself?
-
Hey everyone! I am having problems with my sunroof at the moment and it seems to be because of the relay not working. It operates intermittently - there is nothing wrong with the mechanism/guides nor the switch or motor but there is something wrong with the relay. When I unlock the car and turn the ignition - the sunroof switch may be illuminated and will therefore work. However, ten secs after the ignition is turned, the relay clicks for the central locking and occasionally this knocks the illumination out on the sunroof! When this happens the roof wont work. When I turn the ignition off the doors should unlock. Sometimes they dont. Are the roof and central locking relays linked and which ones are they? Thanks! Nick

Your Insurance Cost For Your Corrado

26 3yrs NCB, no mods, London Fully Comp Elephant £610 - no-one came even close to their quote. -
yeah great cars! Utter lifesavers! Had a similar smash on the M4 in my old Mk2 16v and we both came out COMPELETELY unmarked. I only hurt my toe when I kicked the car in frustration! lol

His looms are VERY VERY VERY good! :thumbleft:

Are Corrado's the best looking affordable car ever?
Nick_Micouris replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
HOW can you say the Corrado loses out on looks to the CRX!! No (well not too much) offense intended towards the CRX but its like Comparing Harrods and Wooldworths  :? -
yes I am sure it was an option, they are also listed in the UK instruction manual (as an optional extra) - I nearly bought a RHD pair from GTi international... Get them to fix em!
-
I simply swear by the stuff and it defintely makes my VR howl and pull better than with Optimax. USE IT!! :)

anyone got a copy of the autocar test for the CTR??
Nick_Micouris replied to Nick_Micouris's topic in General Car Chat
I am such a git I thought I would ask the editor of EVO - you will all no doubt be chuffed by the response :D Dear Nick Given the choice of a well maintained, very tidy Corrado and a new Civic Type-R I'd take the VW every time. The CTR isn't bad but it looks like hatchback that swallowed a shed, its engine is rather on/off, and its handling lacks detail feel and feedback. Sure, it's grippy and it's quick if you're prepared to rev the nuts off it, and, yes, it probably is quicker in a straight line and around a track, marginally, but so what? The Corrado is a much more rounded driver's car. It's effortlessly real-world quick thanks to its torquey, characterful V6, and has neat and beautifully poised handling (helped by its low-slung build). It also rides comfortably, seats four and swallows their luggage and is so much better-looking than the Honda. Has he actually driven a Corrado VR6? I doubt it. Don't let him drive yours. And don't bother driving his CTR - it'll be hard to be polite if you're used to the understated brilliance of the Corrado, and I imagine you'd like to stay on good terms with him. cool! I was equally chuffed,Sandy, mine sailed through as usual a couple of weeks ago. Good long lasting beasts :)
