  1. Beat the petrol crisis and order online

    Petrol Direct

    Rainbow Diesels

We can colour your diesel any way you like it - for the very first time, you can have a fuel that coordinates with your corporate livery.

At present we can supply Orange, Blue, Yellow and Purple Diesel for only a small mark-up on our standard prices.

  2. I took my car for the MOT today as id forgotten that it runs out on Friday :? Insurance paid last night tax at the end of the month do you think ill be able to go out this month

It was booked in for 2pm and the guy said it’ll be ready in an hour and ill call you. So two hours later still no call so I went down there and it was sat in the yard with the drivers door open and the keys in the ignition    The owner said that they have had trouble with the last car and that mine was next and will be another hour. So I called them about 1 1/2 later and he said that they have just finished and that it had failed :( :( he told me to come down so that he could show me what was wrong.

Got to the garage and he says that the number plate lights were out and to speak to the MOT tester. This guy nearly fell down the pit :D and said "Your cars modded init mate" I said yes but not the No plate lights lol

He says "well you haven’t got any rear lights for the No plate you must have smoothed them out" Now I know ive been doing a few things to the car recently but i dont remember removing these, unless it was in my sleep.

We go round to my car and I showed him the lights, he looked really sheepish and just said "B******* I had the boot open when I checked them”  So i showed him that they work and the guy passed it 8)

I really hate taking may car for the MOT not that I think its gonna fail but that someone else has my car but to fail on that really made

    my day :D :D :D

  3. The 17333 rad at GSF is for the 16v Corrado according to there counter system :D I also bought the 93478 thermo switch that Henny suggested. Since fitting ive had a 10C drop in coolant temp 8) I was stuck in traffic for a while today and it got to 100C when last week I was getting 110-115 so looks like it works. Only £42.50 - club discount  so better than VAG prices (as usual  ) quality seems very good and ill just have to wait and see if it lasts.

  4. Thanks Henny 8) 8) 8) Id have bought the wrong thing and been really stuck

I haven’t had chance to get the new rad as work paid me by cheque so im waiting for it to clear :( tomorrow

I don’t want to make the same mistake again  so Ive been double checking the rad im going to get. I looked in the GSF catalogue (attached below) but when i put the 17333 code number into their website I get this -

    17333 RADIATOR-430mm G2 1.6 Carb 8/83 >

that cant be right can it

  5. 1.8 16v :D

Im getting a new radiator tomorrow as mine has a really small but very annoying leak

Now would I be correct in saying that the sender on the bottom right (Looking into bay) of the rad is the temp sender that controls the fan ?? and that the fan should have two speed settings cos mine only comes on at about 90c (water)

Im not really sure on what im looking for on GSF so could someone advise on whether this is the right item im on about  and which one of the two i should get.

93470 RADIATOR THERMO SWITCH General Use. Watercooled. Low Temp 85/80C

93474 RADIATOR THERMO SWITCH General Use. Watercooled High Temp 92/87C

Thanks in advance J of the Bob :D

  6. We’ve done 25K in it this year :D Where as Ive only done 5K in my car in the last 10 months and It does get driven everyday :D Just not abused like the French ****

Dude, that’s a lot of petrol......

Oh and this new C, does it have a headlight loom on it

    Gavin

The Saxo is a Diesel which we thought would have been a good idea until the fuel prices shot up. I used to be able to fill it with £20 :D but now takes about £30 but it does make about 50MPG's but if diesel prices keep going up then its not gonna make any difference.

Uprated headlight loom !!!! Do you know someone who maybe able to provide such a thing

Yes Gavin it already has one fitted and it looks like one of yours 8)

  7. I could starting using the gf's ford Ka - but it means having to take down the pink dice and array of stuffed animals from the dash - too much hassle :D

My G/F now has a C 8) So ive got three cars to choose from :D 8)

  8. We (G/F and I) use her Saxo for all the little run around jobs and its very surprising how those miles clock up. We’ve done 25K in it this year :D Where as Ive only done 5K in my car in the last 10 months and It does get driven everyday :D Just not abused like the French ****

  9. Can someone recommend / suggest a company to referb/polish dish and powdercoat the centres in Yorkshire (Though I dont mind a little drive for a good place) I want to get my wheels booked in asap 8)

    Thanks J

  10. Well the rain stopped for a bit this afternoon so I got it all done inc the PS + Alt belts 8)

I put the new fluid in and went from fulllock to fulllock a few times as i was told this would bleed the system, then started the car up and the PS pump made a god awful sound and I thought id broken it  Took the car for a spin and its gone quite again so I think it was just air in the system

  11. Hi guys,

Today ive bought some new PS fluid for my G/F's 90 valver cos the fluid in there now is really really black

Two questions for you before I start tomorrow

1 - Have I bought the right fluid - I got 1 litre of Bilstien Febi M6162 the guy in GSF said it was the correct one for VW's but I just wanna make sure as ive heard that the wrong stuff will damage the seals in the pump :(

2 - How much fluid is there in the system - I just want to make sure all the old stuff is out (It looks like treacle  )

    All help appreciated :D

    Thanks J
