  1. i want to get some stuff for my C but as im new to owning one im not sure,

I have search and found info but people abriviate words and ive no idea what it means?

    Im after some new:-

Power steering fluid (also where is the cap to drain my old stuff away?, i know im to tilt the car up at the front but not sure where to drain it from)

    Engine oil + Oil filter

And a new Cat (mine is smelling of eggs!) + original or a QUIET back box

But ive no idea where to go for them as i have heard only original stuff is best.

I do have a mechincal mind and have fitted Vaux engines in the past so i know a little, so as much info is greatly wanted please guys as i know nothing about my C!

    Cheers!

    Neil :)

Neil, PS fluid and the other service parts can be got from GSF or Eurocarparts. PS fluid is not a service item so no need to change it. It might need a top up though.

Oil filters, GSF do genuine ones VWs synta silver is a good all round oil.

Your cat doesn't need replacment. Most cats produce the eggy smell it's just part of the 'cleaning' process.

    Saved a fortune there..

    Gavin

Gavin I could really do with changing the fluid on my G/F's valver as its really black. I dont think topping up is really gonna help so could do with a change.

Do you know where you drain from :D

  2. Nearside rear

wouldnt it of been best to say that in the begining JBOB?as with other makes of cars the caliper furthest away is the passenger side rear..and as RW1 pointed out,you DONT bleed the brakes with the ignition on(ABS ONLY MIND)

Not everybody on here has a C. My g/f's car's furthest is the opposite side. The first post I made was a general thing.

    Sorry If i wasnt clear

  3. I was sent this via email today and I think its a really good idea :D What do you guys think ??

We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 a litre.

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea has come up with a plan

that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price

of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

    Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP/RIX. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers.

It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten or more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more 300 x 10 = 3,000)... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people.

That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP/Rix) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please

    pass this message on.

  4. to be honest the bonnet is pretty much earthed anyway,if it wasnt very well earthed then why would the attatch an earth lead to it?

now i bet your thinking is the bonnet earthed to the body or is the body earthed to the bonnet

I thought it was earthed to the rear spoiler

  5. I was trying to sort out my heater probs of which I did but not before going to hospital to have stitches cos the Stanley knife jumped up and attacked me

Well while all this happened I found a what looks like an earth strap that’s snapped but cant find where it should go (Ive a feeling its for the bonnet  )

Can someone confirm where its other end should be please 8)

  6. JBOB, which way did you change the wheel colour?

I think i did it a very complicated way, never mind.

I've just noticed that i've uploaded the pics and realized that the carbon fibre bonnet has moved out of position

logicaltuning, if you want the pic adjusting let me know, it's not much out but still.

    Chris

I used the eyedropper tool to get the right colour and then used the lasso round the spokes and coloured the wheels in. Might not be the right way to do it but very easy

Ive found this site very useful
