You can get the software from Qpeng for the MBE ecu. In fact the software was free off the net, you just need the lead which I got from Qpeng

Our local club set up a cash account with our local TPS and main dealer. I think you will often struggle getting a credit account as a non trade customer. Don't see why they couldnt do a cash on collection account for you though. I'm now working on getting mine delivered to me next!

That makes more sense. I'm not sure of the facts surrounding this, so I can't comment. Our seat did not have abs fitted from the factory and thus is not a problem.

Are you talking model specific? If you are talking generally then there are plenty of cars without abs much newer than 1995. Our 2003 seat Ibiza for example

Taking the C to South of France. Breakdown cover?
Rob_B replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
someone on my local forum broke down in France or something and Flux arranged recovery of the car. Took a couple of weeks to repatriate and they had hot wired the car because they broke the key off in the ignition. needless to say he was not happy. -
They normally are flexible reinforced rubber hoses with crimped metal ends

It wasn't clear or he wouldn't have asked. Welcome to the forum, people will be gagging to help with an attitude like that

Yeah thats the one! Like I say, mine is in there at a 60degree angle or something (it wasn't that scientific, that's just how it sat!). The leading edge sits at the top of the splitter and the trailing edge goes up at the best angle possible so that it fits in there! Give it a whirl and let me know

"do I come back into the fold..........?" yes

well the passat and corrado parts are different. I would guess you need the corrado one. They are available from the dealer still I think if it helps. Not the strongest item when new, so a second hand one will be risky in my opinion

it starts when bumped? ignition switch

its actually more difficult than I thought to take pictures of the oil cooler! Anyway, not sure if the sandwich plate picture will help as mine is a different engine. Can't remember how it went in the G60, was tight though. The pictures of the cooler were taken from behind the passenger wheel at a slight angle. However, hopefully you can just about see that the cooler has both pipes on the side, and is slanted back about 60 degrees. We made some basic brackets up to hold the cooler in place and job done. Nice and snug in there and works perfectly. For a long time I did not have the bottom grill in the front bumper, and my oil temps were really low, mostly 80 driving normally. More often than not I fitted a blanket around the cooler to actually get some heat into the oil, such was the efficiency of the kit. I have fitted the bottom grill now and this has the effect of deflecting the air upwards as it goes through the bumper. This in turn has seen an increase in my oil temps (less direct airflow), but only by a few degrees. I took the jacket off the cooler when we were having our heat wave because the oil was getting up to 100 sometimes! Now that the grill is in the bumper again, I'm very happy with the temps of my oil. Hope that helps a little

Yeah I meant so the inlet and outlet are in the vertical plane. What about laying it down with the inlet and outlet pointing to the engine but the cooler leaning backwards in the space? It doesn't need to sit bolt upright, it will get plenty of air through there which ever way it sits.
-
Does it not fit sideways in the intercooler place? Thats where mine sits happily enough. To be honest if u fit it in front of the rad I don't think it will be a problem. By removing the heat exchanger you will instantly drop the water and oil temps. The cooler will reduce the temps further. I can take some pics at some point this week if it helps, though mine is a 20v now

Are they still available new?
-
Think mine was like the 2nd when it was a g. All a bit tight but it went ok in the end. Heat transfer won't be an issue, the oil will be super cool. Rubbing wasn't an issue either. Just have a play and see what sits best for you. It will go though and mine was never a problem. Just a bit tight!
-
It would bump start because you are manually turning the engine over rather than using the starter motor which is controlled by the ignition switch. If that part of the switch was faulty you could still start it by bumping. Sticky starter motor solenoid perhaps?

Some chimp will buy it because it has storm in the ad! For anyone who wants one, I've got a spare blank. It's from a limited edition karmann interior car. £20 posted

Don't think that was me boss. I've not actually sold anything through these classifieds yet, too much hassle
-
Well as I've not compared them against brand new genuine items on the same car I can't comment as to whether there is a difference or not. However, the car handles like it's on rails so they can't be that bad. Each to their own

I put powerflex ones in mine. About £60 for the whole beam and took 5 mins to install after getting the old ones out

if that person has no idea what to do to fix it, and a garage has said it needs a new wiring loom which £xxxx's, breaking it may be the best option for that person. one mans simple fix is anothers knightmare
-
or maybe he has no idea about wiring or fixing wiring, and the thought of replacing the wiring loom is too daunting. Or having an auto electrician/garage do the job will be massively expensive. The idea of replacing the wiring loom on my car does not excite me, and I know what i'm doing. So for someone with no mechanical or electrical knowledge it must be terrifying

His business won't go down the pan when he has plenty of "vw players" with pot loads of cash queuing at his door for the all important scene points.
