 I think most Corsa enthusiasts make a rod for their own back by ruining them with chavvy wheels and primer-coloured body panels! Funny Corsa article From Sniff Petrol: There was good news for fans of being a dithering thicko this week as Vauxhall revealed more details of the brand new Corsa, including a series of high tech options specifically designed for the kind of mush brained simpletons who bought the old model. Chief amongst these options is a new system dubbed MLA - Middle Lane Assist - which relies on a series of sophisticated sensors to detect if the driver is displaying anything resembling correct motorway discipline and triggers a warning tone so that they can resume their correct spot in the middle lane, even though the inside lane is completely empty. MLA is directly linked to another exciting new feature known as ASA, or Annoying Speed Assist, which is capable of detecting the speed limit for any given road and then holding the car at precisely 4.5mph less than that. Meanwhile, low speed manoeuvring is taken care of by another revolutionary system labelled Inept Park Assist (IPA) which works off the familiar bumper-mounted parking sensors but sends the information from them to a dedicated ECU which then assesses the steering and throttle inputs needed to bump repeatedly into the car behind and still manage to come to rest bang slap in the middle of a kerbside space that is actually big enough to accommodate two cars, if they weren't driven by people who are fucking idiots. Of course, the new Corsa isn't just about technology. Amongst the unique aesthetic features premiering on this model, Vauxhall is promising a standard fit range of stupid little teddy bears and gonks strewn all over the dashboard and rear seat so that the entire interior resembles a 12 year old girl's bedroom. When the new Corsa goes on sale in the Autumn prices are expected to start at whatever Vauxhall reckons it can get away with, given that anybody buying one clearly knows fuck all about cars and will be so busy deciding what stupid bloody name they're going to give it that they won't ask for a discount.

I don't think it will make any difference at all

I had a genuine new VAG pump fitted very recently and the chap I use (JMR in my sig) showed me the old one so it is possible to get non-recons. If there's any play in the tensioner get one of those too. And a new serpentine belt. Then you know you're completely sound for another 100K+ miles. My old pump with a chunk missing and virtually no impellors after 130k miles:

Extreme thread resurrection! It's been a while since John (16VG60) posted on here!

How about an F150 on drag slicks?* * towable fuel bowser optional

Just think that chains, tensioners, a new clutch and heater matrix could easily set you back £2500 in parts and labour on a ratty car with little history but buying a car with all this done will only command a tiny premium over such a ‘dog’. Get a decent one and still plan for some expenditure. That way you can enjoy the car more by actually driving it rather than it being holed up in a garage with its guts out.

Different colour leather. Apart form that nothing at all. They're not any faster!

I've got an early K-reg VR and the interior is all late - I think it depends on what they had laying about at Karmann as I've heard of cars with 'bitsas' of early and late interior trim. More relevant is that very early VRs like mine have distributor ignitions rather than later coilpack. Distributors and coilpacks are known to fail on both variants but later coilpack cars are thought by some to run better. However, the age of all Corrado's now means the variables involved in how the cars run are so huge that I'd personally rather have a well maintained and smooth running dizzy car over a tatty coilpack one. There was vastly more coipacks made - obviously. There is no premium for very early cars like there is with Storms. I'd got for a decent example with a well documented history and tons of receipts- regardless of age and mileage

Pressurisation caused by heat sounds like water, for one reason or another, isn't flowing through the rad. Can you try a new off-the-shelf rad to see if that works (I presume you work for Suzuki)? Has a mechanic left an old rag stuffed up a coolant tube when the car was apart to stop crud getting into the system!?

Airlock or obstruction in a waterway?

I discovered this the other day following a post on the forum in about 1983 – I think it’s genius. Once you’ve turned the wipers off you just turn them on again when you need the screen wiped. Complete user adjustability.

The car is quite low – have you thought about raising the ride height 15-20mm to given the suspension some more travel? (before you go buying new hardware) I recently raised the back of mine by 20mm and the car does feel more settled at speed
-
Both will be complete toilet for £200, give a bouncy ride and sieze up within a year on British roads. You'd be better off saving your money until you can spend more than twice that. Most questions like this are on the 'Suspension Discussion Thread' below: http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 23&t=39334 With regard to how low - I would aim for a fixed drop- just what ever suits you. If you like to drive with conviction, extremely low wil caused dented sumps and ripped off spoilers if you're running a 90mm one.

UPDATE: Parts needed for clutch change etc?
Neil VR6 replied to Jim Bowen's topic in General Car Chat
You might to take it to a garage for a leakdown test as that may well isolate what the problem is: http://autos.yahoo.com/maintain/repairq ... 057_1.html -
Absolutely nothing unless you're running a highly tuned engine :)
-
Personally, I think most of the problem with this is because the speakers aren’t actually connected to the door, they’re connected to the door card albeit via the Audioscape pods. I had a better sound using the same kit set up in my 200SX which uses uber tough resin mounts which screw directly onto the door – much more solid.

Some nics roads in West Sussex around Upwaltham and Petworth :)

He definately answers the phone at G-Werks cos I spoke to him the other day. 8)

This makes me feel like a very old forum member! Love the new wheels - very clean looking and interior's very nice. You're absolutely right about the driving position thing 8)

I'd do B as it's the least destructive. On fan 1 and 2 not a lot comes through the vents anyway and you can always direct the air to another route with the knob wotsit. I don't think I've ever adjusted the passenger flow control thing from the full 'on' anyway!

Not to mention the bu66eration factor of trying to line up the heavy wheel with the holes whilst cursing at how low your lactic acid threshold is!

2 out of the last 3 times I’ve had to confront people in Sainsbury’s car park as I’ve come back to my wife’s car and actually seen people open their cars onto hers without any car whatsoever. It makes my blood boil. All occasions have been middle-aged women too who seem incapable of any kind of remorse. Whenever the C goes to a car park I always park in the quietest part of the car park. Most people are lazy and park as close as they can to the entrance. Still, the last person to actually dent the Corrado was Alldub Tuning :cuckoo: so I guess it’s never totally safe!

I use 5mm spacers at the rear to clear the coilovers. They’re expensive Eibach hub-centric ones and are absolutely fine. I wouldn’t run fat old ones as you’re putting more stress on bearings (and messing with what the very clever VW engineers designed)

Handsome, looks more Cayman to me with the swollen rear arches
