  1. Can you put up a link as I can't find it on the site?
  2. I went on the beedubs gallery and it's off-line at the moment?
  3. I ran a 16.03 which was respectable I suppose but I had a bit of a wheelspin problem in 1st and 2nd gear as the surface is really slick. Very exhilarating though!
  4. Maybe VW were a bit scared off the ideas of super chargers after they realised they hadn't accounted for supercharger maintenance when they made the G60 and G40. The G Laders were very labour intensive and expensive to produce weren't they? Maybe the access to and expertise around tubos made them the more cost effective answer. As biggerbigneil said there must be a reason that we aren't all driving around in sc diesels though.
  5. Wide wheels at the back for me too! Front wheel drive, what's the point! I know they look OK and very "Euro" but I'm not too sure about Audi handles? Another thing, why do people stretch very small tyres over wide wheels so their sidewall is all deformed, surely it can't be safe?
  6. Looks like the R5 won't make it as it's having some enormous custom Cossie RS500 based intercooler fitted at RadTec. Still the Lightning will be there. Times will be fairly slow though as the track going to be freezing cold. The R5 is anthracite with British Rail grey Cup steel wheels, Safety Devices cage, side exit and is driven by a man who looks like Buzz Lightyear! Too bad about your car situation :(
  7. Geez, that's quick. I'd be interested to see you up against two brother who I know that are going. One has a Ford F150 Lightning and one a rather mental Renault 5 Turbo. I'll look out for you! I've got an Inca blue G60 on std 15 inch BBS wheels if you see me!
  8. Did you get his plates etc? Did he even know you hit him!!??
  9. Good strategy, buy a car that has been set up nicely to save all the heart and wallet ache! On the face of it I have a broadly similar set up bar the FMIC. I haven't had mine RR'd so I'm perpetually wondering what it makes!
  10. Wow, that's good power! How was your SNS chip set up? sorry for the :offtopic1:

    car valeters

I used Turtle Wax wheel cleaner (spray on leave for a minute spray off etc) on my old OZ Super T's and they dulled the finish slightly. I had to take them off, T-Cut then and then polish them. It took about 4 hours in total due to the design of the wheels! I was quite careful to only leave the stuff on for a minute but it did take the sheen off them? Is this a bad product?
  12. It might be that the paint has stopped it from being completely air tight. I'll put a smear of grease around the lip of the hole and see if that does it. I very much enjoy the mental image of a red light from Satan's village and banshee noises but the oil level is fine so no banshees yet!
  13. But it's part 19 on that drawing above which shows a 16 engine?
  14. Thanks for that Banana Man. I trust the 16v and the 8v G60 1781cc lump have the sam rad & fittings then?
  15. What's wrong with other coolant? Surely it's just an additive to prevent rust and lower the freezing point?
  16. I think the plastic sender housing has been replaced actually. If it's the bit that has wires and plugs attached to it then it's been done. (watch out for technical language there! :) ) As for the stat and temp senders I don't know where they are and is G12+ a VAG specific coolant additive? (a guess!)
  17. I'll get both to be safe. It's actually leaking from the plastic bit on the "seam" where the plastic was moulded. Seems like an odd place to leak from and it concerns me that all the other plastic bits in the engine bay are in a similarly "worn" state.
  18. Cheers for that. I'm taking it into my local VW specialist so he can see it in the flesh. I've got to drive to Folkestone on Thursday and want to be able to make it back! (If you've ever been to Folkestone you'd know why!)
  19. I've got a small coolant leak from one of the components that attaches to the radiator. As you look into the engine bay (of my 1991 G60) there is a resin/plastic 90 degreee bend that fits onto the top of the right hand side of the radiator. It is weeping slightly and I'm concerned it's going to go pop at speed and cause head gasket damage. Could anybody tell me the part number of this or perhaps post up an exploded diagram to confirm what part it is. Cheers
  20. I thought it might be for over filled oil to drain away but seems a littel crude for ze Germans! What do you mean by this: "If it leaks constantly, your oil cap is leaking." Is it that the oil cap should be airtight so for the small hole to leak would mean air is getting into the rocker to allow more oil out to allow it to drain more effectively through the hole? Cheers for you help in this
  21. Right, I've done it. It all went very well. However, there'a a small hole in the front side of the rocker cover on the left as you look into the engine bay. I didn't notice it before really but it oozes oil? Is this correct? I thought pressure in the rocker was relieved through the oil breather. I don't remember there being a bolt to blank it off or a cap over it before. Does anybody know what it's for?
  22. If you can remove the charger yourself send it down to G Werks. Jabba are chasing the money now with the VAG 1.8T.
  23. You should also get the car set up on a rolling road to map the car properly to realise the gains these cams can offer you. Some porting work (manifolds and exhaust side on the head) will also help to release a few more ponies from the cams.
