"From what I can gather from this thread, there seems to be a 50/50 split in opinions, so clearly a fundamental design flaw exists. It's just that some people (no offense to them) are not as fussy as I am." Well I'm very particular about how my exhausts fit, having had bad experiences with Longlife and Piper. My Miltek doesn't rub or bang EVER. Even four up on a bumpy road. Perhaps it's to do with the amount by which the car is lowered? Mine's lowered 40mm?
-
I think I really like those wheels. They look very different but I think I like then :)
-
You probablly wont get too many replies regarding an exhaust query in the "ICE & Secure" section
-
I'm even more glad I've got them now! I'd get all Genesis kit if I had to build another system.
-
Absolutely, take out the carbon canister and route a cold air feed from the brake duct and get even more cold air into the airbox as well :)
-
An oil cooler wont do anything if the car is stationary no matter where it is situated. As you start moving, you'll see temps drop as Insane_VR6 says, it relies on air moving across it. Mine gets up to about 108 sitting in traffic (on my G60) but the minute you get going the temps drops within a minute or so. I shouldn't worry about it too much.

Subwoofer enclosure and Amp Rack for Corrado boot
Neil VR6 replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Click on my Dubforce link below and there's a pic of my set up. The sub uses a std box but can be taken out easily when I put stuff in the boot. I can also get to my spare wheel and tools easily. :) -
Gotta disagree with you there. Look at all the high power fwd cars on the market now, Focus RS, 146 GTA, any modern V6 Alfa for that matter, Fiat Coupe. All are complete animals. You either have horrible traction control coming in all the time or an LSD which squirms all over the place. Taming rwd is much easier. Front wheels for steering, rear wheels for driving. Plus you can't drift fwd cars :) All decent perofrmance cars are not fwd (bar some hot Honda's which have seemed to have got the hang of fwd)
-
You can't tune a VR6 as much unless you s/c it. Go forced induction if you want big power. Remember it's a fwd though at the end of the day and if you want big power you might as well go rwd or 4wd.

pm 16VG60. He's running about 250 brake at the wheels!

Drilled & Groved disks from Volksbits vs G & S Bremb
Neil VR6 replied to NickVR6's topic in Drivetrain
Pics of mine are on my signature @ Dubforce. Disc fitting is quite critical to the "trueness" of the disc. Even a small bit of grit between the hub and the wheel can cause juddering, uneven wear and overheating. This can happen on plain, drilled or slotted discs. -
I nearly went for Focals but got some Genesis Profile 13's and I'm so pleased with them. Just as good as my mate's JL VR's which cost £250! The Genesis were only £150. The crossovers are made of extruded ally and look like mini amps.

I know. In future I will ensure that the hell that is Ikea will be tempered with not only Swedish meatballs but also a quick trip to BBT! I'll leave the Mrs in the car! -

I think they've got another unit adjacent to the old one but still in the same place -
Too right, what's the delivery time like with these US guys?

Drilled & Groved disks from Volksbits vs G & S Bremb

I believe they expanded recently. I might have a look up there sometime. It's the only place near Lakeside that not full of filthy pikies! -
Can any of the regular West Sussexer's reply to this thread regarding the next meet? :) http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21255

Phil: How do you rate BigBoysToys? they're only about 40mins away from me. -

I've just had fitted Zimmerman x-drilled discs and Pagid fast road pads (click on my Dubforce link for pics). They were about £130 delivered which I though was very reasonable. They only just bedding in but they're already as good as the stock set-up. I think a few people on here use this combo. I tired to do it myself but the 17mm bolts which hold on the caliper were done up way too tight. It's simple to do though. :) -
LOL- Bad G60! I want to get into the 15's next time. I know I can do it, just a case of keeping the thing in control in 1st & 2nd! Might see you there!
-
I'll give that a go! Getting the hu in is such a pain with 3 pre outs!!
-
It's nice to see somebody buy a heap and make something of it rather than getting something more tidy and leaving another Corrado to rot!
