Is that where VW's are/were made? What's the fascination with "Wolksburg Edition" badges etc. Do they add a few bhp to the car? ;)
-
Just had the headlamp loom fitted that H100VW supplied. I did unfortunately discover that my battery tray has all but rotted away when the mechanic removed the battery! Still, the loom has improved the lights no end, especially when I also fitted some fancy new bubs from halfords. Thanks a lot! On high beam the lights are simply amazing!

You'll need to reverse the phase or it'll fire into the box and sound plop

I'm running 5.25 components in the stock locations and have 8 inch DEi mid bass drives on a stealth shelf and it sounds mint. Really fills the gap between the sub and the comps. You can run the comps and the DEi's from the same amp as well as the 8 inchers have their own crossover

You can get those brushes which are like massive pipe cleaners that have stiff bristles which work very well.
-
Looks cool, then again I would say that as it's similar to mine ;)
-
That'll chew through the laquer after a while though. Even the Turtle Wax stuff (less abrasive than oven cleaner) took the sheen of my OZ's and I had to T Cut them and polish them!
-
Thanks guys, I've only just fitted them so I've got the joys of cleaning them to come! I used to have 16 inch OZ Super T's so I'm used to cleaning annoying wheels! I have to say I don't think any other wheels on a Corrado comes close to the BBS's.
-
Took the 17's off and found some original BBS wheels (Thanks Andy665!):

Thanks to H100VW for promptly sending my uprated loom, I have truly seen the light!
-
You have single handedly made my Corrado experience more enjoyable although my osteopath will no doubt miss my daily appointments (that was a joke by the way) Thanks guys, I shall enjoy my drive home a lot more now. I thought it had changed since I had the stereo fitted (seat was removed for power cable) but I thought there was no height adjustment!
-
Hey, I'm not a girl! I drive in what you would consider a normal position, fairly upright with my arms slightly bent. Does the seat have a height adjustment? (can you tell I've only had the car for 3 weeks! :D )
-
Righto, I'll try that then
-
My head is about 2cm off the roof on my G60, can you get the seats "lowered"?! This must be a problem for other tall owners. I'm only 6 foot 1 - 6 foot 2!
-
It that easy to do without removing things like headlining etc?
-
I went to my local VW garage and they wanted £77 for two lupo blades and 2 arms! Where can you get them for normal money?
-
Those ABT rims look awesome, just looked for them on the internet and they've gone out of business!
-
When you get the Lupo wipers, do you just need the baldes or the arms as well as they're these fancy ones without all the pivoting suspensions bits etc?
-
Just saw a DB9 in the flesh and it is VERY nice!

That's a good point, the CM3 Diamond subs are about £180 for a 10 inch I think. JBOB's right though, check out Max Power for great ICE deals. It's probably the only reason to buy it! You'll get the best deals on Sub & Amp packages. BUT, if you have a good ICE retailer near you, they might price match or nearly price macth for you? My amp played up the other day and having a local dealer who could help was invaluable.

Absolutely. A lot of this discussion is regarding personal preference. A lot of people professing to be Sq enthusiasts/experts will not like 6x9's and have an innate and almost irrational snobbery towards them. You may also think that less is more and there is no need to have anything more than a pair of reference components and a sub for the sake of purity. In the topic of running a bandpass v-over, you are essentially wasting the speaker in that you are only using part of its functionality and are hence compromising quality on part of the frequency that you are interesting in listening to. A better way would be to use a mid and tweeter for vocals and treble, a dedicated midbass driver for midbass and a sub for sub bass. That way you are using specialised components for each part of the sound. I run Genesis components up front, DEi 8 inch midbass drivers on a stealth shelf and a 12 inch Diamond Sub. Every component has only one job to do which means the sound is clearly defined and never gets too ahead of itslef when you turn it up. Although the sunroof rattles like a bitch and drives me up the wall

Here's my two pennys worth. A decent pair of 6x9's, correctly mounted on a strong substrate, powered correcly ith a decent amp with suitably set crossover ie not getting sub bass, will sound quite acceptable. However, a pair of 600000w 6x9's powered by a Goodmans headunit, sat on a factory sagging parcel sheld hooked up with bell-wire will sound like crap. Nothing will beat a good set of amped components in a door loaded with Dynamat but correctly installed and powered 6x9's are nothing to be ashamed of. (if you mount them on a stealth shelf, you wont even see them either!). About them being too overwhelming and moving the soundstage backwards, that's what the fader is for on the h/u surely?
-
Well it saved 5 of our lives so I was grateful of the airbags and strength of the car!

It would keep beer cold though (I rented a Pug 307 on holiday and it had an air conditioned glove box!)
