What is your 16v spec & how much power does it produce?
thorpey replied to corradophil's topic in Engine Bay
obviously the car was not running properly hence the poor power output,a fully sorted car can give a bit more power than vw figures as vw tend to give out figures that are slightly lower than what the car really develops so with the mods he has i dont think he is taking the piss he obviously has a strong healthy engine that has responded well to the mods and to fine tuning -
my nearside rear wheel bearing was totally f**ked and the noise alone was a pain itself so i phoned a few garages/fast fit centres and the cheapest price i got was £125 so i thought sod that i would have a go myself,i met jmr at the sussex meet at the fox and he told me exactly how to do it he said it was easy to do and boy was he right!!!!!! less than an hours work and all it cost me was £8 for the bearing kit,i must say that vw have made a great design with this as all the bearings are fitted into the disc and the old one is easy to tap out and new ones installed,so next time yours goes have a go it might surprise you how easy it really is......bloody garages!!!!!!!!

yes always mark it up before hand its a simple, time saving idea, remember next time haha

16v may only get going at 4000 rpm but the power delivered then can be exciting for example my 16v often wheelspins at 5500 revs and with the mods i have is alot quicker than a standard 16v,i have schrick cams that also give u the power lower down the rev range bu they are costly as are all engine mods,i have a 2.1 litre(originally 1.8) in mine with a different gearbox so it can easily hit 60 in second gear and has done a 15 second qaurter mile beating a 20v turbo very comfortably, the g60 has a great sound to it but you put a k+n and a full stainless miltek exhaust and you have an awesome sound too,you will find a standard g60 is actually slower to 60mph than the 16v i know the g60 loses alot of power through the transmission ,two so different cars i think

is it just me or do you get the feeling of sheer happiness everytime you drive your corrado, they are great cars and i have owned alot of cars in my time and none have given me as much pleasure as my corrado, people always ask what it is and what mods have been done it certainly is my pride and joy
-
i think i have a noisy wheel bearing there is no slackness there so is it this? or something else i do have drilled discs and have heard they make a bit of noise sometimes
-
although it may seem a trivial thing its still not nice there again hopefully when they get a car thats their pride and joy someone will do the same to them
-
