    Sort of 'Bump'! I decided to get another VR6 (also in black) and use my current one as a donor car in future. However, now I have another, I've decided that my original one is just too good to scrap (my wife says I have an obligation to sort it out since there are not so many left...and we try not to argue too much), so have decided to replace the rusty bits and get it resprayed. So still looking for rust free near side door, sill and rear wheel arch/rear quarter panel.

    Thanks both. I have got a couple off Lilifuzer - arrived yesterday. I had been to VW having read on here that they were used on MK3 Golf, but seem to be out of stock (obsolete?) everywhere, even though several branches appeared to have stock. Rang around but no success before posting request here.

    Looking for the door card retaining clips for the bottom of the door, have one so need 3 more. Tried the dealers - although listed at many places, apparently no stock. Can anyone help?

    From the responses it does appear that they're suitable. Note your comments re 'expressing interest'. Fine with me...can't get to you before New Year as I am away. If for some reason Mark doesn't take them let me know....

    Thanks..autoelectricians I've used so far have not been able to suggest anything other than the alarm...and pretty sure it's not that.

    Also have a battery drain problem and have had a couple of people look at it for me. How did you narrow the battery drain to the central locking control box?

    I think Motorists' Discount Centres stock the CTEK...must be one close to you...although find them online a bit cheaper.

It was nice to meet you all and look forward to another meet where at least I can have a nosey at other cars for inspiration! You never know I may have made a start on fixing up my other one....
