I'm tackling this weekend: - fitting new rear discs and pads, hoping caliper can be rescued! - rear wheel bearings - getting new new front tyres and refurbing two alloy wheels (local company discount!) - sort cold start problem / overfueling? and generally sooty exhaust (ecu coolant temp sensor a possibility) I need some help with the following, i've searched but I am finding it difficult to find 9a specific details - why is my MFA reporting 99.9 mpg. Confused, does the 9a use a vac pipe or is it via ECU? - if it is ecu driven, why will it have suddenly gone wrong. What sensors / parts combine to work this out?

yep mtm bimoto tt was a piece of kit - the acceleration must have been unreal dumb ass question, does each engine drive each axle or is the power put down through 4wd? -
I have finally seen a Veyron....and on the road!!

great car, so jealous! -
lambos have that x factor for me over any of the other supercars, that v12 is in awesome engine aswell.

would the ecu coolant temp switch bonk the mpg reading as it is in the wrong state and overfueling?? its really chuggy starting from cold, and the engine nearly cuts out without a little persuasion from the throttle

yup I've had to just stretch to new front tyres, managed to get a bit of discount so am refurbing my alloys at the same time. Meanwhile, I'm rocking around on my space saver too! Luckily not icy in these parts (yet...!) Thats plus the costs of new rear, discs, pads, and bearings. My bank loves me too!

shouldnt you be worrying about a turbo first! don't need bigger brakes with no booost! ;)

brakes will hopefully be OK, going to get new discs, bearings and go from there ok quick question, been searching for ages for the location of the vac pipe that connects to the engine for the MFA mpg reading. I think this is disconnected, but want to make sure I am looking in the right place. Anyone got a pic?

Jim, been reading through some old posts about MPG in the 9a. coolant temp sensor (ecu) seems to be a reaaallyyy common prob - apparantly GSF do them quite cheap...? None of the posts hint at a 0 quid part, its just a switch/sensory thing. Is this just old posts or has the price nowadays skyrocketed???

yeah thought it was a crap episode, veyron aside. Plugging Hugh Grant was a shame, and the TT/Rx8/Brera feature was dull dull dull. It was funny, the brera is sooo slow and too think that even with the v6 it won't be much faster. It will only get heavier with the engine and 4wd! Looked gorgeous tho. They gave alfa some stick on them "blowing up" etc, they are like a broken record always regurgitiating the same old jokes...

great news! in your face RAC! :D -
dunno - may try and effect a running repair, but I know that the discs are shagged as they are caked in rust and grime - therefore minimal rear brakes anwyay! still pass two MOTs since I've had them on, hence why i put it off...

My car hates me at the moment, I am flat broke and am being bitten in the ass for not doing some jobs over the summer. I need help with rear brakes, they are completely fooked and a grinding etc on a light press of the brakes gradually getting louder with pressure. Just been searching for the mk iv upgrade tips - over £200 is this right?? Has anyone ordered the bits and bobs recently and know of anywhere cheaper. I assume I will need: 2x mk iv calipers (sided) 1x pair of 98 GTi calipers 1x hose conversion kit (c&r?) 2x wheel bearing kits 2x rear plates - replace the old shitty looking one! How much do you reckon this lot will set me back, should I sit down? I need the bits asap because I use the car daily. Also, how long will it take to fit them?

Hey As more people on the forum are changing their cars, so I thought this may be a good place to discuss things in general. My usual weekend trawl of the classifieds showed how much VAG you can get for 3 - 7 k, all of which look tempting in different lights of the day. Anyway, it got me thinking... What options are available for getting a car on finance, and what things should we be aware of etc. My C is only my thrid car and was paid in cash, knowing that it would take me ages to save up outright for a 4mo/S3 etc. How did you go about financing things? Hope this isn't too personal, obviously leave out the details on direct costs etc, more interesting to debate the options loans, HP etc etc and the benefits or pitfalls around them.
