  1. i read somewhere that you cant do 4x100 to 5x112 cos the holes overlap or are too close. people have done it 4x100 to 5x100.then 5x100 to 5x112. there was a big thread about it on e38
  2. i bought mine from the last inters at the trl.they were 550 at the show.the firm was motorsport wheels based in essex iirc. you could also try stsmotorsport.co.uk they are based in slough

sorry. 8's on the rear 6's on the front
  4. at the moment i have got some fk ak coilovers on my corrado. they are excellent for the money.but i cant see them looking as good as the h&r's after a year tho. i would definately buy h and r's again in the future.but couldnt warrant spending 6-700 on a car that didnt cost me much more. ive had konigsports on a mk1 cabriolet last year. but its hard to compare them to the h&r's as they were fitted to 2 completely different cars.

theres room for another 30 mm or so on the front. the rears have another 45mm left on the threads but ive got some issues with the rear tyres and the spring platforms. front tyres are 195 45 16 and the rears are 215 45 16. i bought the wheels and tyres as a package and they are all brand new.personally i'd have gone for 205 or even 195's on the rear.but beggars cant be choosers. im on the hunt for some 30mm adaptors for the rears so then i can lower it all round.
  6. i had them set at approx -60mm with 7.5" 17's. once i got them to that height i never touched them again.seems a bit of a waste having all that adjustment available and never using it but ive bought fixed height kits in the past and never been quite happy with the ride height. at least with the coilies you can set it exactly as you want.
  7. i had the h&r height only adjustables on my old mk3 vr6.excellent ride quality.i took them off a year or so later and they had no corrosion whatsoever on them. smart bit of kit

now on design 90's again and fk coilovers
  9. with the set up as it is on mine.i think there is room for another 5 mm spacing(ie 30mm adaptors) i ve been out in it with two people and given it a pasting and havent had any rear arch problems. ive got 25mm of thread left on the coilies maybe i'm just not low enough.lol. the more i think about it the more im convinced its the odd size tyres that are causing my problems. its a pity they are brand new otherwise id have swapped them over.i think with a 195 or 205 a 25mm spacer would be fine. i still wouldnt chance a 20mm adaptor and coilovers tho if i had a choice of thickness' available.
  10. you'll have no probs with standard suspension cos the strut doesnt have threaded body.its the additonal width of the adj spring platforms that cause the problems. i agree spacers and adaptors arent ideal.its only a temporary solution till i can get my hands on some 30mm adaptors.
  11. i would ive got fk 's, 8inch rears with 215 45 tyres.its probably more a case of the tyres being the issue. but when i torqued up the rear wheel with just the 20mm adapter the platform was pushed right into the sidewall.obviously didnt drive it.lol
  12. any coilies and wheels with an et higher than 35 are gonna cause problems.i had the same problem with my mk3 vr and standard wheels. i bought a set of 90's this weekend with 20mm adaptors and they fouled on the rear spring platforms.as a temporary measure ive put 5mm spacers on too. you can get away with 25mm depending on the tyre size on the 8's.mine are 215's and theres about 1-2mm clearance.a stretched 195 would probably help. i'm on the hunt for a set of 30mm just to be safe.
  13. i bought one from halfords a couple of weeks back.it didnt list vw on it but it worked perfectly on the calipers on my valver

    Strange Wire

it maybe using the boot light switch as a trigger for the alarm
  18. ive recently fitted the ak coilovers on my c.rides very well. however i dont think thers enough drop on the rears if you want to go really low. they are progressive springs on plated threads. the ride is alot better than the slightly more expensive supersports i had on my mk2 vr. i had konigsport on my mk1 cabby and can hardly notice the difference between them and the new ak's.maybe cos i had them set quite soft.
  19. as said above.tighten the nut until you are able to move the washer with light pressure from a small screwdriver.
  20. i'd check for blocked sunroof drainage channels, blocked scuttle and torn door membranes for starters.
  21. sorry,i assumed you was diy-ing it.bearing kits are only about 7 quid a side from gsf.
  22. tbh i dont think you are going to able to spin an unweighted wheel fast enough to hear any droning. just replace them on both sides. they arent expensive
  23. they will repair or relay what ever car the member is in.
